It might be interesting to play during the Krogan wars. I'd be cool with well into the future though. They could pay little homages to the first three games as well. Show how the galaxy has progressed or maybe that it hasn't and war is rampant.

Prior to Shepard, I could see it. There is enough back story material that could be worked with. But well into the future......like I said, might as well call it something different because it wouldn't be Mass Effect:joeybats:

It's no different than Star Wars, except reversed. KOTOR went WAY into the past from the original series. No reason to believe you couldn't go further into the future with ME.

It is different, at least in my mind, because you are going back in time. For Star Wars, you still have blasters, lightsabers, hyperspace travel, etc, that has been built upon in the timeline. With everybody starting off at square one again, you may not even have omni tools, biotic powers may not be the same, etc. I just see too many unknowns for Bioware to jump this franchise into the future like that with a "clean slate"

Well to be fair, the Protheans are evidenced to have the same biotic powers and weapons. There isn't any evidence of omni-tools in the DLC, but between ME1 and ME3, and the Collectors, there is evidence enough to suggest that there are similarities between the Protheans of 5000 years ago and the humans of ME present (travel through mass effect relays, the citadel, AI, VI -- a lot of it looking remarkably similar). Wouldn't call it too much of a stretch to go in the future or the past for the ME franchise if it was supported properly.

I meant 50,000...just missed a 0. Regardless, the point stands that there is clear similarities between generations, both from technology (obviously, since most tech is thanks for finding remains of prior civilizations) and even to stuff like biotics.

Just base it off the MP we have now.

Pick which race you want to be (basic human to a budding STG salarian agent to even a recently produced VI implanted in a robot body, etc.), who you'd like to work for (Alliance, Cerberus, maybe a Merc Company like the Blue Suns who then hire you out to other players as support or even as a surrogate "hero" during a raid for a cut of the credits to go with your XP earnings...), etc.

Ex: You pick Human Adept so you start out Level One at the Grissom Academy.

From there, you go to "Class" (game tutorials) and learn how to crazy shit that Adepts do.

The game manufactures your first boss fight in a small merc band hired to steal kids for Biotics tests.

You take them down and earn a new level.

Best part is, both the Alliance and Cerberus got footage of your deeds and each extend an invite into joining their cause.

You can join either or strike out one your own as a potential Merc, possibly getting a call from Eclipse...

The potential is endless.

Finally beat a silver mission last night. Jesus Christ it was like the 10th and 11th wave was a one man show with my Turian Soldier with Mattock VI and Widow... i think they did something to the widow because its not hitting as hard as it used to.

The Reaper horde is growing, so we must as well. Effective military strength needs to increase, and veterans must train conscripts so that they, in turn, can train others.

Allied Goal: Promote 150,000 characters. Victory Packs awarded to all players upon successful completion.
Individual Goal: Promote 2 characters. Commendation Pack awarded to individual players upon successful completion.

Welcome to the next N7 Multiplayer Weekend!

Last weekend our community operatives united to train a record number of new recruits. The time has come to turn these new recruits into battle-hardened veterans.

Join the war against the Reapers online between 5PM PST Friday, March 30th to 5AM PST Monday, April 2st and promote at least 2 characters to your single player campaign.

This operation includes PC and Xbox 360; we are continuing to work with Sony to enable these types of Operations on the PlayStation 3 platform. We appreciate your patience, and we expect an update later this week regarding Operation Raptor and the PlayStation 3.

Commendation Packs will be awarded to individual soldiers who complete their training, and a Victory Pack will be awarded to everyone if the Allied Goal is achieved. Packs will be available to download the following week. Please note that participants need to set “Upload Gameplay Feedback” to “on” in the online options to be able to participate in Operation RAPTOR.

Read somewhere on the PA boards that Bioware tinkered with some of the firing rate percentages as well as damage for certain guns.

I'm guessing they got a lot of complaints of Infiltrators ganking kills.

Yep.

They just want to see boosted play hour numbers apparently.

More promotions = More time spent on their game that's easy to show on a graph in the near future.

Unfortunately that means more time on Bronze now...
