Matt Ryan set a record for most completions as a rookie in a playoff game... And both years the teams the Falcons lost to in the playoffs go on to the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning's playoff record was once 0-2 as well.

Joe Flacco got knocked out of the playoffs by the AFC superbowl representer every year.

2008 - Pittsburgh Steelers - AFC Championship game - Went on to win the superbowl over the Cards.

2009 - Indy Colts - AFC Divisional Game - Went on to lose the superbowl to the Saints.

2010 - Pittsburgh Steelers - AFC Divisional Game - Went on to lose the superbowl to the Packers.

Joe Flacco got knocked out of the playoffs by the AFC superbowl representer every year.

I wonder if Flacco will ever get over that hump. I mean, I like the kid, much the same as I do Matty Ice. But the light at the end of the playoff tunnel looks so far away still with all the great competition ahead of them.

They are both so close, but their teams seem to be a couple pieces short. In Flacco's case it might be too little too late. Lewis is "slowly" getting older but older nonetheless, Ed Reed already threatened retirement once, age is catching up with that defense. Offense too, Heap, Housh, Boldin is no spring chicken, Mason, Stalls, and I doubt they can maintain all three RB's on that roster for many more years, somebody is going to want to get paid (Ray Rice). Flacco just needs a little magic right now I think come playoff time, but I'm not sure he has it in him yet. Maybe in time he'll be that guy, but his team might not be there for him by then.

That to me is part of the reason Matt Ryan > Joe Flacco. Ryan is definitely set up better for the future right now with Roddy/Julio.

Joe Flacco looks as if he's completely plateaued. It doesn't look like he's not getting any better. Now I would watch more Joe Flacco and give you my thoughts but I'm banned from NFL Game Rewind. But whenever I watch Flacco I walk away entirely unimpressed. He might wind up with decent stats, but that's after a lot of bad plays that went nowhere.

Matt Ryan is and will always be the better QB. The Roddy/Julio combination will do him wonders. Joe Flacco will forever be looking up to Matt Ryan.

His defence is surely superior to that hot garbage in Atlanta, that's for sure. His run this year was incredibly impressive though, something I never thought I'd see from him. His targets are very complimentary to his delivery.


Lets see if he Elisha's and throws 30INT's next year before we crown his ass.

I said this before, but I think Flacco's relatively pedestrian numbers are a product of the offense he's stuck in. It seemed like once Baltimore dumped the retarded Cam Cameron and realized they weren't going to beat good teams by running Ray Rice up the middle 30 times a game, Flacco really flourished in a pass-first, deep ball offense. Maybe its Fool's Gold, but I think Flacco is a very good QB.

I just liked how Falcons fans (most specifically J.Hen) didn't give Flacco the light of day and proclaimed they had the better quarterback (arguably) after just 2 seasons.

Wow, didn't know Falcons got their February Depression that bad this year, but seriously both guys are in the HoF, and Marino threw the ball about 100 times more per season, you don't think they are in a discussion with each other?
