The stats arent bad in the end, but are bad when u know how the game went.
It was 3-0 me until 1 min left in the 2nd when i got a quick 3 play score off a 67 yard TD. Then PSU fumbled the KO and 2 plays later it was 17-0 at the half.

I got the 2nd half KO and drove 13 plays 80 yards for a TD and ate up 6 mins of the Quarter. I ran the ball well and this was the one time i felt good running. PSU goes 3 and out and my next play Herron takes it 70 yards for the TD.

Take away that play and i had 39 total yards rushing for the game. But then add 30 yards from pryor getting sacked and i would say i had a legit 70 yards rushing on 24 carries which is less then 3 YPC.

My passing was very good and while i only took 3 sacks, it could have been alot worse because it seems like i am always under pressure in every game i play. Im not sure why since OSU has great linemen

Now PSU numbers are misleading in that they didnt get any of them until i was up 31-0 and they went into robo mode. Take away their 2 4th Q drives which equal about 150 yards and they only had 63 yards of offense. Their 1st TD drive was really nice. 12 plays about 80 yards, good mix of run and pass. If they played like that all game it would have been awesome.


Dont get me wrong i am not being critical of these sliders at all. I think they have potential and this was just one of those game where it started as a defensive battle and a few bad breaks later it was a blow out.

Im gonna play another, this time OSU at Alabama...should be fun

Seems like CPU running needs a lot of help.

i agree. I would like more consistent running from the cpu. i also think the human run blocking could use maybe a 5 point boost, same with human pass blocking. Running was better in my last game, but there were still to many times i was getting blown up in the backfield. Saine was 15 for 53

I've never played on Heisman before....me nervous.

I played my Colorado-Nebraska game on Heisman default and only lost 31-27.
That said, I had a 27-17 lead (using Colorado).
I am not a sticky jockey in any sense of the word, and I have no issues with Heisman level.

Maynard - please be critical, thanks for the feedback bro - it's really helpful. This is why I'm considering a move to 9 mins quarters. I think it will allow those 3-4 min possession chews, and still leave the opponent to do something in return.

I understand the robo mode - actually had that just now, but it was for me - I couldn't be stopped.

Rushing yards look good, so do the turnovers - looking forward to the next game you play. I think after I post this Notre Dame result, I will bump to 9 mins.

Okay, the score - I'll take anyday against Notre Dame. However, I think with longer quarters - this game would have ended up lopsided in regards to the score. It was already beyond lopsided statistically. There was no hope running the ball, although I did get some yardage - but quickly brought back to negative. There were more penalties in this one, which was refreshing. I saw a grounding penalty against Notre Dame which was something I had never, ever seen in any of the NCAA football games.

Allen dominated, and for some reason Evans could not be brought down. The kicker struggled early, but I had to change the accuracy to 45 mid game - he was missing all the extra points, just didn't add up.

This game showed that it's all about who you play against, and what mental errors can do. Notre Dame, instead of running out the clock, decided to pile it on me - and paid when Allen fumbled, and I scored by throwing a 50 yard bomb - which set up a goalline td for Harden.

Now this game is where it's at. Sure, I lost big - I should lose being SMU - however some of the mistakes I made were purely my own fault. Purdue did a great job at pressuring Padron as much as possible, so the QB got most of his yardages through quick dump offs - except for a couple down field routes that were once in a lifetime.

First, since the modification of min per quarters to 9 mins from 7, I feel like the CPU actually took a firm hold of its game plan, and stuck to it. The final score does not do justice to how defensive this game was - and I think that's how real football is - it's the in betweens that matter, and this was definitely a game of that.

Truly enjoyed this one, made some bad throws - they made some bad calls, we (SMU) just got beat because we fell out of our gameplan - there was no plan to throw more than 30 times - go figure.

I think the adjustment you made was a good one - and I honestly might make that modification as well due to the transition to 9 min qtrs. I felt if it weren't for some tidy tackling, Bolden could have rushed for 200 yds against me.

Also, was your game speed on Slow? The animations look fantastic eitherway. I'll have to post my next writeup as a video.

Some notes, yes it was a blowout and my passing was not good but both my 1st and 2nd string QB got injured for the game. So willie beamin wasnt on his game. Wisc is a not a good passing team and even though they tried, their QB made a horrible pass in the Red zone for a pick 6 which really turned the tides of this one. To their credit, they never abandoned the run either.

But their running game was great and very realistic. I got my share of stops, but they made some good runs and fooled me when i expected pass.

BTW, i noticed u changed the FG acc. I still have it at 0 and missed an XP in this one. Although i like the added pressure it adds to FG because u have to be perfect or u miss

The CPU tried a 58 and a 61 yarder in this game too. Whats up with that

I played this one 8 min Q and TOP is balanced so i liked that too.

Yeah, field goals by the CPU are outrageous attempts - but gives me a chance to return the miss, which is nice.

As for the FG acc - it was only for the CPU, I need to edit that - my bad. The extra point misses were crazy before that - nice to see, but still.

I think your last game was similar to my previous because the score was a misleading domination - which is fine, it's forces you to tell the story, which is how football is.

I'm not trying to make these sliders for the love of statistics - granted, that's a plus - but my primary goal is to make it enjoyable, especially since Heisman is one level I have never used due to the ridiculous speed that was evident in the past NG versions of this game.

If the set I create has to be a "base" then that's fine, it's not my intention - but I understand we all visualize this game in different manners. Slow speed does not look slow at all to me, it seems to mimic the correct speed, and required decision making true players feel every game day. I've tested side by side some real NCAA footage with the game's "live" gameplay - and the movement on slow (and threshold 35) is less "arcade" to the naked eye.

Looking forward to the next game, I'm going to keep the settings the way they are. There are no glaring issues to note, maybe the rush D like you mention Maynard.

9 mins feels good - and compliments the type of coach who sticks to their game plan, but leaves room for some random decision making. Also, last game I pressured the QB 7 times (4 sacks), that's the first I have seen adequate pressure against the CPU - quite happy bout that.

Good game here, tried 8 mins, and enjoyed it, felt like a complete game - and the stats can show that. I would say at this point 8-9 mins, and the game should be enjoyable.

As for the game itself, using Virginia was a treat, mainly for T-Mack - that boy can run, very fun. The matchup against WF was even I'd say, their starter Stachitas was blown out for 2 qtrs, so backup Skylar Jones came in and scored off of an option keeper for 71 yards. After that, in the second quarter, had a bomb of my own - flinging a desperate 84 yarder to Burd, who caught it in stride - and broke a tackle - and sped off.

After Wake scored the go ahea to make it 20-17 for them, I decided to run T-Mack a little bit more, but did too much, and was caught in the backfield on 4th and 2 with only a minute remaining.

Ive been using these and I love it s far. Im staying at 7 minutes though because my stats seemed inflated for 2-3 games. Crist would have close to 200 yards and 3 tds in the first half on the nine minutes.

So far they do seem fair, only real issue is a TD hasnt been scored on me. Ive played Purdue, Michigan, and Utah. Now I know Purdue and Michigan sucks, that was expected. I know my defense isnt good since when i play online I have been crushed, and ND's defense is weak IRL.

Im gonna try to up the CPU's offense so maybe they can score because since ND plays a weak schedule this year with the likes of WMU on it, I dont wanna be blowing people out week in and week out.

Do a test dynasty game, see how it plays. The thing about exhibition games, they can only go so far. I'm struggling to pick a team to use for my nasty.

yeah i think these are great too. people will always need to make some mods depending on their preference for results. plus using powerhouse teams as a test might give me different results than using C or D teams. But i think they are playing great and giving me the type of games i am looking for.
