Mr Glass maybe out for the season

Just saw on ESPNbottom line that Lions fear he maybe out for the season due to a separated right shoulder.

Talk about one of the worst trades in history...I thought I got quite the deal and now Dallas Clark is on the IR and Stafford hasn't played a full game...I gave him Fitzpatrick and Gonzo.

Nothing will ever go right for the Lions. He's got the talent but can't stay healthy. There is a chance he comes back healthy at some point but I doubt it. Its just he can't take the physical beating that happens in the NFL. Thankfully we've got a great back up in Shaun Hill. I hope the Lions keep him for next season too as he gives us a chance to compete.

Also, we should draft a QB in the later rounds (5 or 6) this upcoming draft. Go for somebody with raw talent or who did well at a smaller school.

Yeah I saw that. He just walked out and was fine though after about one play.

To be honest I don't think he was completely healed from his first shoulder injury. If you noticed the Lions called a lot of plays where he could get the ball out quickly and avoid taking a hit. Our offensive line did play very well though the past 2 games in protecting Stafford. His shoulder not being able to take landing on the ground like that just shows it wasn't ready.

True, jets really don't do a great job sacking the QB but more putting pressure up the middle and keeping contain to the outside, lions kept with best out the backfield (dude is beast) and crossing routes to combat that.

It sucks, you don't wish this on anyone. Stafford is good but one has to wonder any shot he takes and lands on his shoulders, if he can take those hits. Tasker even wondered if stafford was healed from the first one like you said.

I love the whole ''he has the talent, but can't stay healthy'' argument. Ryan Leaf had a ton of talent, but he was mentally unstable. Sorry to break this to you, Detroit fans, but staying healthy is a major part of the game. A failure is a failure - something stafford had written all over him coming out of college.

I'm not writing him off yet. QBs are typically given 3 years to prove themselves so he's got one year left. Also Stafford is much different then Ryan Leaf seeing as Stafford has actually gotten something done on the field.

However durability is very important and it seems he might not have it which is unfortunate. His career is far from over but he's definitely head down the road many could have beens have taken.

And you shouldn't write him off yet - that would be stupid. But he won't ever succeed, and if he doesn't, you really need to can the stupid fucking excuses behind it, because staying healthy is a huge part of the NFL. If Sam Bradford injures his shoulder over and over again, and fails to do anything relevant, he'll be a complete failure, too. Matt Stafford hasn't even gotten to .500 yet, so I wouldn't say he's gotten anything accomplished on the field, but be the major fucking failure that a few of us had him being, coming out of college. If you really think he's done anything, you Detroit fans are easily pleased - draft Ryan Mallett, you'll love that guy.
