NCAA 11 Impressions

It's broken in that you learn comeback routes, in/out routes, and sometimes slant routes against man coverage are basically useless. Especially to outside receivers, it doesn't seem to affect the slot receiver/tight end. These routes work really well against zone.

Here's an example, it's not the best one because I never should've thrown this ball, but you can see the CB turn and jump my WR route before my WR even turns.

Wow. Something like that would kill the game for me.

i will be honest, my testing of this has been minimal and the success i may have had at 45 could have been.....not thoroughly tested
i do know that when i went to 35 i had no troubles in practice mode

Mine hasn't been hours and horus of research but I know I tried going higher than 35 once and didn't really care for the results.35 is pretty tight coverage and you start getting up towards 40 I thought I rememebered the CPU not so much running the route before you or ahead of you but right with you.

Wow. Something like that would kill the game for me.

Yeah I think KP must be in an onlien dynasty where they have the slider set higher than 35. Which sucks. Playing on your own though it can be fixed/tuned.

Yeah its an online dynasty I'm running using some All American slider set I found on OS. I don't want to mess with the sliders too much because it's hard finding a set that works for 8-12 people. It's def getting lowered when I advance to the next week though.

I also hate when your receiver is running a straight fly route and the defender is directly in front of him/impeding him, the receiver is slowed down,doesnt change direction and there is no pass interference haha

That's fucking garbage as well.

I would hope they would fix both of those glaring issues with a patch.

so i started year 2 at #1. Beat #12 TCU 27-7 on the road, then beat #19 miami 35-16 on the road.
Alabama started at #2 and beat U Louisiana Monroe 33-7 at home, then beat #8 Penn St 35-10 on the road. And alabama jumps me in the polls and is now #1

What a bunch of bullshit. I beat 2 top 25 teams on the road by a convincing margin and i get jumped. Fuck you!

i wouldnt care but there is an achievement for going start to finish at #1. Not to say i wouldnt lose a game, but that is BS imo

I officially give up, this game sucks. I guess i'm in the minority, but I just can't get into this game. I'll finish up my onlline dynasty commitments, and it'll be back to MLB The Show for me.

-Atmosphere is awful, crowds are dead, presentation is severly lacking. All of these things were better 5 years ago on the last gen by a wide margain, how is that even possible?

-Game does not control smoothly, players feel like they are gliding on ice.

-After all these years, CPU AI is still mind reading plays. For proof, pick an option run in a completely ridiculus situation like 3rd and 30, and watch the CPU mind readers run a blitz at you from the side you are running to. Disgusting.

-I don't understand how the game controlled better and played a better brand of football a half decade ago on previous gen. I popped in NCAA '06 for shits & giggles tonight, and it's a far superior game to this years piece of shit, and '06 wasnt even the best of the PS2 era.

This once great series drifted off on the wrong path around '07 or '08, and it's never getting back to what it was. It took longer than Madden to get there, but now they both officially suck. It;s incredibly disappointing that this is what we get on next gen. It;s been several years, the football games shouldnt be this bad. Don't even get me started on the Madden Demo, this crappy NCAA blows that terd out of the water.

Disagree completely. I have all my sounds sliders at default and most times I can't hear the announcers over the crowd.

Presentation is "meh". They need (much) more stat overlays and better injury notification for sure. But I don't miss showing the guys in the booth and all that shit. To each their own on some things though.

If those sliders are set too high then the defense doesn't read and react to the play, they just mirror the play/know it. It sucks bu tnot sure what your sliders are set at so this could be an issue.

I had to watch that twice to make sure I knew which player was on offense versus defense, because seeing how that CB broke on that route once the ball was in the air I forgot.

• Increased the default starting values for all Recruits.
• Slightly increased progression for low and mid tier teams.
• Tuned CPU recruiting to prevent teams from signing too many players at any one particular position.
• Increased CPU's focus upon needed positions in recruiting.
• Top schools will sign 5 star prospects earlier in the season.
• After a recruit Soft Commits, any CPU team that is not ranked in the top three will spend significantly less time calling the recruit.
• Addressed an issue with big lineman jumping too high and deflecting passes.
• Tuned ESPN U Top 150 Players to be more in line with actual top 150 recruits by decreasing the number of Fullbacks and Kickers.
• Tuned Field Goal, Kick Offs, and Punting in Super Sim.

I guess if they address things like DBs mirroring routes it'll have to happen with the mid-August patch.

They def bumped the off season progression up. With Purdue it is mostly +3 with some +4/+5. I remember it being lower without the tuner file.

I even noticed the difference between playing at Oh St as Illinois and playing as ND at Utah. At Ohio State the "HFA play art squgglies" were up basically the entire game.

Against Utah I think I dealt with them maybe 2 or 3 times even though the crowd was loud there was a distinct difference.

Mine are posted on Pages like 19- 21 with game stats/ impressions using them. Credit Mayanrd for them really. I used his as a base and went from there.
