oh, here is the other issue i read about....the kicker recuits having real low power and accuracy. People seem to forget that with a teams default kicker on the team that sliders have been turned way way down because these guys are kicking it thru the roof. So i welcome the addition of poorly rated kickers to stop all these 50+ yard attempts.

I will just move the sliders back to default to balance this out.

i think EA should leave the recruiting as it is and give a slight bump to progression. I dont want to see a team full of 99 all over the place.

You have to realize the full extent of the problem. Teams start refusing to attempt field goals because they don't have any capable kickers on their team. That's when the low kickers start to become an issue.

FT, i agree with everything u said about the in coming guys. And i think that is what is really messing people up is what they are seeing from in coming guys is very inconsistent from the current roster. I guess in year 4 or 5 u will start to see those effects and how they play out for teams.

Alogn with this though I don't think the CPU is smart enough to change up strategies though so while you might change and pull mor 5 star guys the rest of the 119 teams end up staying put for the most part and over time the teams get much much worse.

i dont have the exact numbers and i advanced to year 2 so i might not be able to see. But there was no team who got that many 5 star guys. the next highest was 2. And a team like Alabama had 0. Bama had 16 4 star players and 3 3 stars and that got them the #1 class. Most teams got 4 and 3 star guys.

And thats what worries me more than progression. The 3 star players i got ranged from 65-76 so if u get a bunch of these players and mix that with low progression then u get a bad team.

Schaneese(Illinois' QB) was 14-25 for 243 yards with 2 INT's.

Saine tore me apart for 35 carries for 300 yards. It was insane.

Ohio State was blitzing a lot, especially on first down and I couldn't do much of anything against it. Leshore had a nice few runs but finished the game with 21 rushes for 39 yards because I kept getting caught in run blitzes and had little to no faith in Schaneese to keep me in the game with his arm. He did score on a nice scramble TD though.

Crist was 19-39 for 261 with 0 TD's and 2 INT's.

Utah didn't punt until the second quarter and it was 17-3 Utah at the half. I scored on the first possession of the second half then no one scored again until the 4th. Crist threw one INT in the endzone midway through the second with me int he redzone with a chance to make it 10-10 or 10-6. He had Evans open but floated the ball right to the safety. His other pick came with about 6 minutes to go in the game with me down 24-10. I was clawing to get back in the game and he threw a terrible pass to Kamara in the flat which was picked off returned to the my own 17 yard line and Utah scored to pretty much seal the game. I put up a late TD but it was too little too late.

I made a few changes to the sliders based on these games.

On a side note: How the hell do you do Coach's Challenge replays? Utah had TWo TD's that i wanted to review but couldn't. On the first one the post TD replay played and when I tried to challenge it it said I couldn't be the play isn't "able to be challendged or the instant replay has been accessed from the pause menu". Ok..

The next TD I didn't let the post TD replay occur and I went to the menu to try and challenge it and it wouldn't let me for the same reason..I just wanted to challenge the catch.

What's the best way to challenge a play?

Yeah I know that but it wouldn't let me challenge the play. I went there and it wouldn't let me do it. The first TD I admit I saw the replay they always show after TD's and went in and tried to challenge it. No luck. The second time I hit "x" so the replay wouldn't play and I went to challenge in in the pause menu and it still wouldn't let me challenge it.

thats odd. i never had that happen. usually the game does the challenge from the booth. But if not everytime i have tried to challenge a play i was allowed to even if the replay showed on its own

The most important attribute that is never used is "awareness"...

Literally means NOTHING in this game, when it should be the key attribute determining overall (it used to be years ago, and even then, it wasn't quite enough).

Here is a post from OS explaining what awareness does.....

A QB with high awareness will throw the ball away at times out of bounds as opposed to taking a sack or forcing the pass.

He'll also see the blitz coming quicker

A RB with high Awareness will pick up blitzers better....reason being is because he's more aware of them do to his high awareness.

A WR will block down field better because of increased awareness.....he will locate a defender and try to make the open field block more often.

A FB will recognize which defender is he needs to attack better

A OL will recognize assignments better.....for example if your RT gets beats and the RG see's the defender in time he won't just stand there and not do anything.

You guys ever wonder why so many Offensive Linemen miss their blocks or totally ignore a pass rusher?

Check that OL awareness rating......I'm willing to bet he was assigned some garbage low rating in the 60's that ain't going to cut it if you want offensive lineman who understand their assignments.

If you notice EA increased the awareness of the starting OL this year....you'll now see about 3-4 guys rated in the 80's in awareness. In years past you'd be hard pressed to find 1-2 starters with a 80 overall awareness on your OL

You see the only the way they could improve the blocking logic of the offensive linemen this year was to increase the awareness rating.....Truth be told IMO they could even go higher for the OL because all it does is makes the game play 10x's better on the field.

So your right it doesn't much impact a game that is SIMMED out.....but on the field itself i gurantee you if took all 11 starters for the CPU and gave them 90+ awareness they'll turn into the Rams offense of the late 90's on you

If the game shows you a broadcast replay, you can challenge it (should be able to but might be a glitch). It would be the same as if you saw the replay on a jumbotron. If you pause the game and select replay, you will not be able to challenge a play.

Yeah I have no idea what the issue was. It was pretty obvious I should have been able to challenge the guy getting his foot down.

I somewhat knew that is what it did, the problem with it, is that it doesn't have that much of an effect on a players OVR, which, is the problem. Because, at the end of the day, the game is about numbers...and if a 68 OVR OL goes against a 94 OVR DE, the 94 OVR DE still wins more often than the other guy does, regardless of the AWR or blocking or block shedding, etc.

What is described above is basically what makes a good player...well...good.

You can be slow, can't catch, etc...but if you know and pick up your assignments...you are a good player.

Awareness should be one of, if not the chief attribute of someone's overall...its like learning the playbook, knowing technique, etc. It is actually what makes a player good.

You can take a player from a 50 AWR to an 80 AWR and he jumps 1 MAYBE 2 OVR points...that should not be.

One of the PS2 versions had this right...it was the year I rolled with Arky State (and I don't remember the year...Shermar Bracey was a senior...and was a beast)...OVR was determined a lot by AWR...for a QB, this year, it holds true. You can take a QBs awareness, move it up 5 points, and he is immediately better by a respectable number of points...however, that should be EVERYBODY, at least on O, which is where it seems this attribute is most used.

Plus lack of Pass interference. Virtually no offsides.

Plus they need to tune injuries back a bit. Guy get hurt way to frequently/easily. I'm half way tempted to play with injuries "off" in my dynasty.

They also need to "tune" or fix how few stat overlays there are and how there is literally no injury notification.
Annoyances no doubt but not game killers.

Man these dbs mirroring WRs is really starting to get annoying playing online and online dynasties. I'm never throwing an out route on this game, the cb jumps it perfectly and either intercepts it (most of the time scoring) or swats it.

I threw one the other day and the db had his back turned to me, the second i released the ball he just turns jumps it.
