NCAA Dynasty Update Thread

Just wanted to ask this here for my PITT dynasty, but also my USC team in the OD. Do you think 15 recruits is good number to go with, maybe a little more if someone sticks out? PITT I have like 14 or so right now, USC I am about to do, but they have a sick team, so not like I need a fuck load of them to begin with.

Yeah that's a solid number. I never go over 14/15 because then you are just spreading your hours too thin. The exception would be if you had like 20 or more graduating seniors, but I usually have 12-15.

Yeah so far from what I have seen UCF always gets really good by about the third year.

UCF is currently #10 and 8-0 in my dynasty lol

I messed around with the coaching carousel this morning just to see if it was something I wanted to jump into or if I just wanted to create a HC and turn contracts off. This was simply a test run, nothing I am going to continue.

I created myself as OC for Vanderbilt. I simmed the entire first year, did no recruiting. Team went 3-9. I liked the carousel. Nothing jumped out at me. I completed 3 goals in-season, failed none and had 5 in progress. I was offered the HC position at University of Louisiana Lafayette. I declined it. I was in the running for the SJSU HC job, but, didn't get it.

I was in the running for the Mississippi State OC position, but, it went to someone else. Was offered the OC position at NC State and took that as I saw the talent on the roster was leaps and bounds over that of Vandy.

It was neat to see HC's fired and take DC or OC roles and to see BCS conference coordinators take HC jobs at smaller schools. In fact, Norm Chow became HC at Buffalo lol.

I was exactly the game, I was fucking terrible at FS.

Went into a position battle with Andrew Luck in practice prior to the UCLA game. I wound up earning the starting job somehow over Luck.

We defeated UCLA and I had a so-so game. I went 6-11 with 152 yards and a td. The downside is that I threw 2 ints right at the start of the game. I thought I was going to be pulled, but I settled down and let the game come to me.

My big play of the day, a 66 yard completion. ​

Well, that's bound to hurt his draft position.

Starting a dynasty as the OC of New Mexico. The highest rated player on offense is a 70. This is gonna be a blast!

Won the first game against Colorado State 13-10 and my second game against North Texas 23-0. It's felt relatively easy, so I'm moving the difficulty up to AA.

In 2013 Memphis is finally emerging as a serious contender. After a few early blowouts in nonconference, Memphis has been stringing together a few conference wins. At 6-0 Memphis had the task of traveling to #21 Maryland, who had only lost once this season. After a tight battle all game long, Memphis sealed the deal with a 20 yard TD run in the 4th quarter to win it 21-14. Memphis goes into it's game vs ECU 7-0 and ranked #24 in the nation. Memphis' transfer HB from USF, Marcus Shaw has been making defenses look foolish all year, as he leads the NCAA in rushing, and is #2 on the Heisman watch list. Sophomore DE, Cody Davis isn't letting up, as he once again leads the nation in sacks. It will be an interesting end to the season, as this is the coach's final year of his contract. Will he be back at Memphis to take them even further, or will he leave for greener pastures?

After my first two games we ended up going 5-4 leading up to play the #1 ranked undefeated Boise State Broncos at Bronco Stadium. It looked like Boise State was just gonna cruise through New Mexico to go to the National Championship game, but the Lobos had something to say about that.

After the first three quarters, the game was tied up at 14. Boise opened up the fourth quarter with a touchdown. New Mexico came right back down the field to tie the game back up at 21 with 2:11 remaining. The Broncos next possession ended with a punt. This gave New Mexico the chance to pull off the game winning drive, and end the Championship hopes of Boise State. The first play of the drive was an intermediate to deep pass play. B.R. Holbrook fires a pass across the middle and it gets intercepted. Boise State has a short field and scores quickly. It looks like Boise State is gonna pull out the tight win, but they still have to play the final 1:22. Fast forward to 25 seconds left. It's fourth & long, New Mexico will lose if this isn't converted. Then this happens.

We complete a 41 yard pass to continue our hopes. After a couple of incomplete passes there is 9 seconds remaining. Only about time for one or two plays. Luckily, it was only one play.

The game heads into overtime. The first overtime ended with both teams scoring a field goal. We get the ball first in the second OT and score a touchdown. Boise State comes right back down to score one to force a third overtime.

Boise State gets the ball first and Doug Martin takes it in for a touchdown. Unfortunately, Boise could not convert the 2-pt conversion. This gave New Mexico the opportunity to pull off the historic upset. The Lobos get down to the goal line, and for the third time this game...

The FB scores a touchdown. All we have to do now is convert the 2-pt conversion. The B.R. Holbrook to Ty Kirk combination had been the Lobos best option this season. Holbrook finds a wide open Kirk in the middle of the field. This led to the Lobos most historic moment.

Went to the Poinsettia Bowl and beat Idaho 24-21. Ended up ranked #20 in the country. Got offered the OC job at FAU, but I declined that.

Oregon and Auburn played each other again in the National Championship game. Oregon won this time.

Downloaded real rosters, so had to start my Dynasty over. Decided to go with Idaho. Rejiggered my schedule so I could have the Boise rivalry, and they proceeded to paste me 30-3. Offence looked decent, but I choked it away in the redzone.

Followed that up with like a 61-7 win over FCS West. Believe I have Top 25 ranked Texas A&M next

So Mustang finished the season 7-2, which got us into the playoffs. Won the first two games by a very close margin, and then lost in the third round by a score of 16-13. I'm ranked as the 47th best player in the country.
I've got scholarship offers at QB from Texas, Oregon, LSU, Wisconsin, Stanford, West Virginia...and quite a few more.
At FS, I've got offers from Texas, Oregon, LSU, West Virginia, TCU and a couple smaller schools.
I'm definitely thinking of going the QB route. FS was fun, and that's my favorite position I've ever played IRL, but I gave up too many big plays in the game.

If I do go the QB route, I've narrowed my choices down to Oregon, WVU, Air Force, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State. What say you, people of VSN?

Open the books up, folks! There's a new record-holder in town!

For the first game of my Junior season, we hosted an FCS team from the West Coast and took that lamb to slaughter. We throttled them 56-7 and I managed to break both the school and national records for most rushing yards in a game! I was named "Player of the Game" and "Offensive Player of the Week" for C-USA and the entire nation!

I had 24 carries for 410 yards and SIX rushing touchdowns, as well as 2 catches for 21 yards.

My last carry of the day gave me my sixth touchdown and the single-game rushing record for yardage.​

The second season as the OC we went 7-6 with an OT loss to Texas A&M in the New Mexico Bowl (the guy fucking fumbled). Got offered about 5 or 6 OC jobs, but they were all shitty jobs, so I declined them all. Got New Mexico to a 3* prestige, and pulled in 11 3* recruits (76th overall class).

Last season I did the realignments that were to take place in 2012 which left the WAC with only 5 teams. This year I'm moving UNLV, North Texas, and myself to the WAC to make it look like a conference.

Holbrook (QB), Kirk (WR), Solomon (WR), and Reed (TE) all graduated this past season. We're returning four starters on the O-Line which will help the transition to the new QB and receiving core. We're looking to run the ball more with Tarean Austin who struggled a lot last year, because the offensive line doesn't like to block on runs. Hopefully with more experience on the offensive line that will change.

Well, I can't have games like last week's all the time. A bit of a return to Earth in Week 2, but we defeated UL-Lafayette 17-14.

I had 19 carries for 121 yards and a rushing touchdown, but I got injured and spent all of the 4th Quarter on the bench.
