NCAA Dynasty Update Thread

Taking care of recruiting before the Virginia game and I saw that the other OT on my board, Marshall Johnson, gave a "hard" commit to Texas. Leaving me with just JUCO OT Kevin Seymour. I immediately offered Seymour and he committed on the spot.

I also pulled in a "soft" verbal from Center John Mobley. We hold a slight lead over Notre Dame for him right now. Also, OLB Joel Sands gave me a "soft" verbal. We are currently, comfortably, ahead of both Stanford and Oregon for his services.

4-star CB John Fox has given a "soft" verbal to Boise State. We are in a battle for this kid and I have been literally recruiting/comparing against Boise each time I call this kid...he won't budge though. He's got Boise #1 and it's stayed that way this entire process. Now, the other CB Michael Holmes has USC #1 and Boise #2, so it looks like we are going to split on these two prospects.

Finally, I lost my only FS target in Brian Tolbert to Nebraska and a "hard" commitment.

Just looking through the stories and noticed that Oregon just lost to previously winless Cal! Oregon drops from #4 to #17 in the country.

So I play #24 VT in Blacksburg... and first play from scrimmage they go 80 yards on a little slip screen. Then I drive it down to the red zone and promptly get picked. Great start.

Then everything clicked and I just got on a roll. My ground game was unstoppable and my passing game was very good as well, and we scored 35 unanswered to take a 35-7 lead into the half. They got in scoring range a couple of times but then they just fucked around down there and put themselves into punting territory.

I called off the dogs in the second half and 42-14 ended up being the final. My seniors are just too good... I might struggle to make a bowl game after they leave next year. RB Dustin Jones ran 25 times for 199 yards (7.9) and 3 TD. QB Terrance Patterson went 12/16 for 191 yards, and threw for 3 TD and 2 INT, and WR's Devin Smith and Evan Spencer both had receiving TD's.

Lost to SDSU and TCU by a combined score of 87-24 to finish the season with an impressive 1-11 record. Some stats on the season.

I left UNLV to take the OC job at Utah State. I am familiar with Utah State from another dynasty, and it was a team in the west, which is what I was looking for. Plus UNLV is a fucking mess. I was also offered the OC job at Idaho and Western Michigan.

Vince Tillman was the crown jewel of the #1 recruiting class in America in 2019. The Wichita Falls, TX native was an instant contributor as a true freshman in the Tigers' new look spread offense. He established himself as a deep threat early on in his career, but his most impressive feat was his eventual transformation into a complete player. Tillman only dropped five passes in his entire career, which is remarkable for a player with his yards per catch. He was a part of three national championship teams, and he and his classmates will leave LSU with a W-L record of 54-4.

I'm about to fire the game up and play this Orange Bowl! Hopefully I can pull out the win..I've had a tough time playing UCLA in this dynasty, as I was the DC at Washington before I came to Duke. Wasn't able to beat them either year I was there, and both games were blowouts. I feel like my defense here at Duke is far superior though..I've got 4 All Americans (at SS, CB, DE, and MLB). My 3-4 has been a BEAUTIFUL thing to watch the two years I've been here.

I wasn't chosen for an at-large at 11-1 (loss @ Georgia) and ranked #4 in the standings. So I went back to the MPC Computers Bowl again and beat Virginia Tech (again) to finish the year at 12-1.

Some highlights included sophomore Brock Ford stepping in for 5-star sophomore Kevin Harris mid-season after Harris went down with a broken arm against Idaho. Ford threw 33 TDs and only 7 picks, but wasn't chosen to either all-conference team.

Meanwhile, junior speedster William Miller was a Heisman finalist but wasn't even named first-team All-WAC. Instead, sophomore Elvis Franklin (who was suspended three games mid-season for copying homework) was named to the first-team after a 5 TD performance against New Mexico State.

I ended up having six first-team All-Americans, including the Thorpe winner in SS Paul Johnson. I'm losing a 95 overall G, 94 overall FS, 90 overall CB and 89 overall LT (declared for draft) but I have a lot of depth on the line and should be a contender next season.

Oh, and they still haven't invited me to the SEC. :facepalm: If I win a title this coming season and still don't get an invite, I'll end this and start a new dynasty with either Harvard or RMU.

I just started the next season. I'm midway through the opener right now, leading Baylor 24-10. Lost a ton of players on both sides of the ball but returned my QB and two 99 OVR defensive studs (MLB and SS). I have Notre Dame at home next week and then a road test against #8 Oklahoma. They are the only other team with As across the board, and it will put me within 1 of Bud Wilkinson's 44-game win streak record. I figure if I'm gonna cheese my way to the record, I might as well earn it. I'm sure if I lose Wilkinson's digital grand kids will pop champagne in the stadium.

My other RB went pro and my WRs are young, so it's gonna be all about the big body Jarvis Cronin this year. I'll probably give him the Hellisan HOF treatment after the season.

Sitting pretty at 4-0 with Ohio State right now. Nearly was 3-1 but I held off a late rally during my first Big Ten game @ Iowa, winning 35-29. We actually trailed 22-21 at the half, because they scored a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter, and I got my first blocked extra point ever in the NCAA series, but their kicker picked it up and ran it in for the 2 point conversion -_-

My RB Dustin Jones balled out though... 35 carries for 199 yards (5.6) and 2 TD's. Devin Smith also played great at WR with 6 receptions for 147 yards (24.5) and a TD.

My QB is solid but he needs to take care of the ball... he threw 2 picks again and one of them was a pick-6.

So far in recruiting, all I've landed is a 3* C and a 3* G. I have zero depth along the offensive line (My fullback is my backup right guard right now) so I they will help there, and this coming weekend against Minnesota I've got a lot of guys coming in on visits.

My schedule is pretty easy the next couple of weeks though. I play Minnesota, UNLV, and then Purdue, so realistically I could be 7-0 at that point. Then I have to start the gauntlet though... I close the season with: @ #6 Wisconsin, undefeated Penn State, @ Indiana, Illinois, and then @ #5 Michigan.

1-year extension after getting Duke to the Orange Bowl with a stellar D??? I would take a better job. They are just showing you how much of a basketball-school they really are with that shit.
