NCAA Dynasty Update Thread

Okay, so basically, I have 5 career dynasties that I rotate through (I've ended up at Ohio State in all but 2 of them - USC and LSU respectively), although most have not been touched in a while.

Here's the one I've currently picked up again, I started off as an OC. I didn't really keep track of this one all that well, but this is as much as I've got recorded/remember:

2011 - OC at Kent State. Ended up going 9-4 and winning our bowl game.

2012 - Hired by Mississippi State as OC. We went 13-1 and won the SEC championship and the Sugar Bowl behind a dominant rushing attack, an efficent passing game, and an opportunistic defense that IIRC led the nation in turnovers forced.

2013 - Stayed at Mississippi State. This year was even better than the last. We went 14-0, and captured the first NC in MSU history. I had two 1,000 yard rushers, and my QB led the nation in passing efficiency. Also helping matters was my true freshman, 6'6 99 speed, 99 acceleration receiver who won All-American honors in his first year on campus.

2014

Just finished up my first year at Ohio State in my coaching career dynasty. I spent my first year as the OC at Kent State, then two as the OC at Mississippi State, so I'm in 2014.

Idk how Luke Fickell only went 10-26 with these guys, because I went 13-1 (7-1) and won the Big Ten and the Rose Bowl. They are so talented but I'm guessing the sim engine didn't treat them too kindly.

I crushed my old team Mississippi State 38-17 in week 2, and then shellacked an overrated VT squad in week 4 53-17. I got flat-out mauled by Wisconsin in a 28-24 loss though, they ran for 300+ yards on me. I beat Michigan twice, 38-6 in the regular season finale and 31-21 in the Big Ten Championship game.

The Rose Bowl? Might as well rename it the Braxton Miller bowl after what he did to Baylor. Threw for 413 yards and 3 TD's, and ran for 117 yards and 2 TD's in a 45-17 win over an overmatched Bears squad. Sad to see him go, but he owns most of the OSU passing records now.

Oklahoma beat Oregon 35-17 for the NC.

Steve Spurrier retired and was replaced by Charlie Weis.
Gene Chizik was fired and Gus Malzahn was promoted to replace him. Chizik hired by Northwestern as the DC.
Nick Saban got fired and was replaced by Al Groh. Saban then got hired by Wyoming as the DC.

I have two QB's rated 90+ (one a pocket passer at 98 and a scrambler at 92). Originally, to start off the year I was starting the pocket passer, and the scrambler had good WR rankings so he was playing there while backing up my #1, but I got into a 21-0 hole against Boise State, put in my scrambler, and as they say, the rest is history. So far he's thrown for 15 TD and 5 INT on the season.

I have an end of season update coming soon I guess ... about to play the national title game vs. Georgia Tech. I'm excited because I am 13-0 and they are also 13-0. It is the first time in this dynasty that I'll play an undefeated team from a big conference in the title game. Usually I either play a 1-loss opponent or an random undefeated team from a smaller conference. They are 99s across the board, so this will not be easy.

Spoiler alert - I lost this game. Yesterday was not the best day for me and important football games.

I loaded up my 2025 Miami Hurricanes dynasty after not playing NCAA for a while. I was #3 and 9-0. First game after starting it up for a while, FSU upsets me 28-21 and I didn't get much going all game lol.

FUHHHHHHHHH. Dropped down to 9-1 and #8.

[size=-2] I decided to try and be the OC of Army and wanted to use Oregon's playbook but I just couldn't do it because I could really get the read option to work for me and running from the shotgun in general was not very good. I switched back to the triple option just for the hell of it and running it wasn't so bad. It can be difficult if the defense jumps the snap though. I basically just tried to kill the time so my defense couldn't get on the field and lose the game for us.[/size]

[size=-2]He wasn't all that bad of a passer. When I was running the spread he was really good and carried us through the games because of the lack of running. Once I moved back to the triple option offense he didn't pass unless I was down in the 4th.[/size]

[size=-2]Once I switched back to the army playbook I started to see much more success in the run game. Hassin is a beast. Great at breaking tackles and surprisingly qucik for his size. Steelman was solid as well and could even break some big runs off every now and then. The HBs really didn't do much. They seemed to take a ton of negative yardage because the defense normally is all over the play if the QB keeps the ball. So a lot of the time brown got the ball as a last ditch effort to get some positive yardage. [/size]

Turner Gill was fired by Kansas and some randomly generated coach took over

Sidenote: All those schools and a few others that had HC vacancies offered the job to me but I felt it was too soon for me to take over as a HC especially after a mediocre season.

Landed my first recruit at Eastern Washington. Jayson Redd, #1 QB in the nation committed to me, after wanted to stay in state (from Spanaway, WA).

He looks very good; A+ awareness, A arm strength, A+ Accuracy, 4.96 - 40. He also has "average" Discipline, so I won't really have to worry about him getting in trouble. Looks like I already have a QB battle for next year, as my Freshman this year is a 84ovr.

I had to suspend my LT for 3 games because he was forging signatures. My RG is out for the season (Medical Redshirt) with a broken wrist and my RT is out 8 more weeks because of a dislocated shoulder. My O-line looks like this now.

I had to move my Fullback (5'11" 215lbs) to fill in a empty guard spot, now that my LT is gone as well. This is the worst offensive line I have ever had in any game, this should get interesting.

In my 6th year at Kent St. (4th as HC) and last in the MAC, the team will be going to a BCS Bowl. #12 Kent St. (MAC Champs) will be facing #5 Boise St. (11-1 (8-1)). I needed some help during conference week and got it by #8 PSU losing and dropping to #14. Since I won my conference and was ranked higher than #13 BCS (USC was #11 but not Champs), I got a open slot bid. #5 Boise St. will be representing the Big East. My first recruiting class as a HC will be able to go out with a trip to Sun Life Stadium.

NCAA 11 is the same as NCAA 10, and 10 is a little improved from 09. Stay away from NCAA 08, though, the pursuit angles are completely broken.

I got DEMOLISHED by Boise State after being down 14-17 at Halftime. In the 2nd Q, I lost my #1 & #2 WR for the game. The Broncos scored 2 TDs in about 1:30 minutes at the start of the 3rd Q. After that we just started trading touchdowns in the 3rd Q. Their starting JR(RS) HB (ovr: 94) ran in a for a record 6 TDs...I just couldn't stop him. He had a 67 yard, 70 yard, 56 yard, 58 yard, and 41 yard (31att-461yds) runs for TDs. I had everyone focusing on him but if the 2nd person didn't get him, he would bounce to the side and run for daylight and usually shake off the last tackle right before the endzone.

Kent St. added the #50, belonging to ROLB Randy Roberson, to the Golden Flashes HOF. Coming out of H.S. he was ranked the #7 OLB and he did not disappoint. He ended his time at Kent St. with 259 TKLS, 116 TFL, 120 ATKLS, 19 FF, and 10 FR. He was a 3 time NAGURSKI Award winner and twice named NCAA Best LB of the year.

They had me at 3rd and 18 on my own 8 and they bring everyone on the blitz, and I had verts on, so an easy over the line throw to a wide open Coleman gives me the score and the one point victory.

Move to 4-3 on the season and all my conference games have actually been against winning record teams, so things are looking good for me in the Sun Belt.
