Winning 2 point conversion in the Rose Bowl
With 15 seconds left, down by a touchdown and and extra point, I threw a 5 yard slant and broke a shit load of tackles to take it to the house in the Rose Bowl against UCLA. Kicking an extra point here would send it to overtime. No way was I having that. I either lose it here or win it with a 2 point confersion. I lined up in my goal line formation and fake FB, HB pitched the ball. I thought I was stopped in the backfield, but somehow my HB managed to break a tackle and take it in for the win! A thrilling end to a damn good season. My defense and offense worked completely in sync together for the first 3 quarters of the year, but kind of dropped in productivity the last quarter. My sophomore All-American HB John Johnson had 522 yards and 3 TD's in just 2 games played, but was knocked out for the season with a broken collarbone. (RS) Freshman Cortney East had to step it up and do wrok because Pat Williams, Senior (RS), has been a huge disappointment in his time playing and I could not trust him to run the ball. My receiving corps this year was really young, as I only had 1 senior (TE). I had 3 True Frosh and scattered Sophmore's and Seniors. They carried the load, but their age came out with key drops in the FSU game as well as the Rose Bowl. My defense just played lights out and produced 4 award winners this season.
The Big East is getting to be unbearably bad and I am thinking about a conference switch at the end of the season. We will see what conference is worthy of Rylos' Canes :smug:

PASSING
Stevenson drops back.
No.|Class|Name|Rating|Comp|Att|Yards|TD|INT|Comp %|Sack
4|JR|Mark Stevenson|173.0|184|338|3548|42|18|54|27
1|FR|Shelton Johnson|178.4|20|42|489|6|3|47|1
My philosophy, same as every year at the U, is smashmouth running and playaction passing over their heads. After Johnson went down, however,I had no solid HB with experience that I trusted to run the ball. THerefore I started throwing a lot and it paid off ass it opened up holes for my freshman HB.
Stevenson is only a JR, and a 88 OVR, but I feel like he may declare for the draft. Under my rules I could keep him, but we will see. I have 2 QB's graduating who threw for a combined total of 155 yards, 2 INT's. They will not be missed lol.
Stevenson did what he was asked and excelled and I could not be more happy. However, the last 4 games or so he threw 8 INT's and struggled for some reason. I had to put in my true Freshman to give Stevenson a cool down period.
RUSHING
East takes in for a TD.
No.|Class|Name|Att|Yards|Avg|TD|Fumbles
24|FR(RS)|Courtney East|199|1324|6.6|15|2
22|SO|John Johnson|61|551|9.0|3|1
20|SR(RS)|Pete Williams|65|300|4.4|3|3
37|SR|John Blanchard|26|241|9.9|1|0
At HB only two of my guys are graduating, Pete Williams. He was a complete busted and fumbled 12 times in 3 seasons of playing. The other is John Blanchard who I mainly used as a return guy. He won 2 returner of the year awards until getting injured this season.
I had my doubts of East, but he came in for the injured Johnson and did work. He isn't a huge guy, and doesn't break many tackles, but he is FAST. If he gets a hole and good blocking he will take it for 15+ yards.
Next season with Johnson back, East will probably come in on first down for me as he was a fantastic first down back.
RECEIVING
SR TE Rocky runs the show.
No.|Class|Name|Rec|Yards|Avg|TD|Long|Drops
11|SR(RS)|Rocky Johnson|45|716|15.9|4|60|5
82|FR|Patrick Johnson|41|891|21.7|10|62|9
80|JR|Brett Hagen|24|723|30.1|13|89|6
88|SO|Chris Powers|24|457|19.0|7|81|2
81|SO(RS)|Paul Sutton|21|367|17.4|4|63|2
23|SO|Tony Davis|15|349|23.2|5|63|4
85|JR(RS)|John Williams|15|255|25.5|3|78|2
LEading my young receiving group was SR, TE, Rocky Johnson. He led my team in catches and was my most usable 3rd down guy. With the majority of these guys being Sophomores, it was good to have a guy like Rocky to stabilize my offense when I needed him the most. Since everyone will pretty much be returning next season we will have the same consistancy as this year, just maybe less production with my HB John Johnson being healthy.
DEFENSE
Davis charges the QB in the Rose Bowl. He had 2.5 sacks.

Pat Walter, JR: 20 total tackles, 13 solo, 5 assisted, 2 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 4 INT, 1 FR, 1 TD
My defense was pretty awesome at times this year, but other times faultered pretty badly. The main light in my defense was my beast ass MLB Lance Davis. Dude is a force on that defense and I am so happy he did not even consider going Pro.

Well, thanks to those 2 assholes my defensive backfield will be in shambles. I talked Hansen to just stay for his Senior year and he agreed. If he would have left, I really don't think I would have won that many games next year lol. Hagen left early, but my receiving corps will move on without him.
