Just picked mine up. Playing some RTG til rosters come out. My one confusion is that I don't play every play I'm in. Is that how its supposed to be. Im a RB/MLB. When Im RB, I run a couple, then get taken out for another guy which is fine but then as I'm simming, I see my player runs for so and so yards. Shouldn't I be playing that down? I'm having a good game simming but I want to play those downs damn it all

EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out. I'm an impatient idiot. Was hitting X to sim next play when simming. You have to hit square to sim to next time you are on the field.

EDIT2: PS3 looks fine to me but I don't really analyze that kind of stuff.

EDIT3: Seems like the CPU coach calls plays exactly as they are and never flips them. Majority of runs are to the right. They've got me doing tosses right to the short side of the field a bunch. No room to run.

Good first game for me. On Varsity though. Just turned on the game and started playing.

20 cars, 157 yds, 3 TDs
2 rec, 15 yds, 1 TD

6 tackles, 1 for loss, 1 sack.

Definitely need to go up at least to All American. Fun none-the-less.

I also don't have the pro combat unis even tho I unlocked them in the demo...

I forgot how useless this game is without rosters haha. It may just sit until that good set on OS gets done.

opposite here. I've been in custom playbooks since last night. I've played a total of 2 games, none being online.

How does the PS3 version look? Some people at OS say it looks horrid and others say it looks incredible.

I've played 2 games....A&M vs Texas & UH vs A&M. I couldn't do TB because I didn't want to upload the patch, just in case those visuals problems are real and due to the patch. PS3 has always looked different from 360 but overall this game looks nice. I played the game on a LG tv in 720p with gaming mode on. I played one game at night with clear skies and the lighting good good IMO. The other was an afternoon game in pouring rain....jerseys were pretty dirty by Half. I did notice that when the game shows aerial shots the ends of the sidelines sometimes flicker but this doesn't do anything to gameplay (this was during the afternoon raining game).

edit: reading some of the past posts about field degradation and uniforms has made me decide to DL the patch tomorrow.

The CPU on offense still is sucky.....owell. Gameplay feels great though....there will be some great user battles.

Nice to see mid 80s throwing accuracy is not elite anymore...

You CAN pass or run commit. L2 then R in whichever direction.

I dunno about playmaker DURING a play...I thought that was only in madden a few yrs ago.

This game is damn impressive out of the box.
I played default Heisman with the only change being speed differential to 25 from 50 (a lot of guys at OS are using that setting).
I play 8 minute quarters.

In my first game: Ohio State (cpu) 42 Illinois 17.
I got the first TD of the game, but simply could stop Ohio State, just too big a differential in talent, but I never felt cheated.

Second game: Stanford 43 (cpu) Oregon 40.
This one went to four OT series. Andrew Luck threw a deep pass into my zone on 3rd and 15 to win the game. I was up 24-14 at one point but threw a bad INT that changed momentum.

So far on default Heisman, the only thing I might change is my pass blocking. The CPU gets a ton of sacks. I also feel that cpu passing could be better (Luck was 17-37 vs. the Ducks ... but clutch).

As others have noted, pass interference penalties (again ) are non-existent.

The presentation in this game is uttlerly unispiring. I kinda miss Coach Corso.
