I have not see any real impressions (aside from a few comments here and there)
Can you guys posts some of the reviews/impressions?
PROS
CONS
DYNASTY MODE
ONLINE GAMING
is it basically the same game as last year with a few improvements or setbacks? how is online play this year? Laggy or smooth....is there the usual slow down?
how is the dynasty this year? Recruiting? logic?
what about playing the CPU? is the AI shit or good....i did read some posts on this and it sounds like the AI is retarded as always
Features- I wasn't really hyped up for the new features ahead of time but they really do have a good feel about them. They don't do them perfect really, but they do them well enough to make a difference. For example the custom playbook's menu's and layouts aren't the easiest to navigate but the feature is great.
Gameplay- If you played a shit ton of 11, it will definitely feel the same. With the right sliders(Varsity ones on OS), the game really plays one of the best games of football EA has ever produced. But there are some things EA just can't get right. Crowd noise stinks, home field advantage isn't there, still no PI penalties(probably never see them on this engine). Also the passing game is very easy but again with the right sliders, it is manageable. I only play with ND and their spread, so I can't speak about heavy option playbooks and how they work. Commentary stinks. Really really really really stinks. Smells bad.
CPU- The computer really plays a good game for the most part. Any weakness noticed can be fixed with sliders. Quarterbacks do actually scramble.
Cons- The less publicized issues that plaque EA football for years are still there. No pass interference calls, commentary, poor punt return blocking, and super linebackers. Also if you are a offline guy, you have to breathe life into the modes to bring them to life. They aren't going to blow you away and keep you intune with everything else going on in the mode. Also while the game looks great in replays, in game the visuals leave a lot to be desired. No 3d grass, players don't look smooth, field doesn't look smooth. It looks like NCAA11, which isn't bad, but it really sticks out when you see the replays and how good it could look.
Dynasty mode- I love dynasty mode. Always have, probably always will. Nothing really new here. The coaching carousel is nice, but I never planned to use it. It was kind of cool to watch the coaches move around at the end of the season. IF anything it does bring some more realism to the mode. Everything else is basically the same except you can customize anything. Players, Teams, Coaches, Conferences, Recruits, whatever. If you see something that used to bug you in years past, like a 5 star MLB being 5'8 192lbs, then just change that to be more realistic. If you think some players are overrated, underrated, whatever just change them.
RTG- I really did enjoy the high school part of RTG. Playing my former schools, anticipating the end of the game to see who is interested in me next, it really was exciting. But once I got to a 5 star rating at game number 9 in the season and had offers from every single school in the country, it lost it's steam. Like it has been said before it doesn't really feel like you are a part of the team, and it really only works for the glamour positions. It is basically tasks after tasks just to move up the depth chart(coach trust). The defensive camera can be shitty at times especially for the secondary, and with the lack of suction, it can be hard being the right position with the camera moving around. I was a RB/OLB. 5 star RB and 3 star OLB. Won the state championship and chose to play RB at Florida with Charlie Weis. I got to be the starter in 5 games, only played 2 more then haven't touched it since.
Online- Haven't played online. Some say the servers stink.
I am pleased with the game. Probably because I get to play my Notre Dame dynasty again and it means College Football is starting up. But if you played 11 a lot, have no real allegiance to college football, and are just tired of the same old same old EA football, I would probably pass on this game.
