we have a larger/more fervent fan base than a lot of the SEC teams... not to mention our academic standards are pretty much on par with most SEC teams...

They are WAY down on the SEC's list and the B10 won't touch them.

they are higher than VT, UVA and most of the non florida ACC teams... and it makes much more sense than bringing Loserville into the SEC...

and the B10 won't touch them.

SEC will go with A&M and OU to get to 14. If they have to bring OSU along with OU, they will and add Clemson or FSU.

LOL. How delusional. To be honest you guys are way too far away. Nobody even likes hauling it to Lexington, you think LSU and Arkansas fans are gonna want to travel 1200 miles to Methlab, USA every two years?

ACC is a good fit though. Except they are academic elitists*.

They'd be back with Va Tech and they already consider Maryland rivals.

no doubt we have a lot of natural rivalries in the ACC (plus BC and Miami), but I would rather see us go to the premier conference (considering our recent performances against SEC teams)...

Neither of those teams adds any TV markets the B12 doesn't already have. The B12 is dead if A&M is gone.

Big XII will likely dissolve eventually anyway. Texas will go independent and the other teams will scatter like shrapnel. A few will join the Big Ten (Mizzou and maybe Kansas), and many will latch on with the MWC (Texas Tech, Iowa State, Kansas State, Okie State), and Baylor will get marooned to the dregs of C-USA or the WAC.

I personally think we should just hit a reset button on all this conference mess and set things back to the 1990's.

Big 8, SWC, a decent Big East, etc.

honestly, i hate hate hate this move to bring the SEC to 14 teams.

i don't see the SEC adding clemson, tech, fsu, louisville, etc because i've read that UGA/SCAR/UF/UK have made an agreement to block any move to bring in an instate rival (take it for what its worth). also, neither of those 3 teams really bring much in the tv market field which is what drives the conference expansion. I expect the SEC to take someone in the ACC/Big East that is in a TV market like DC. Also, wouldn't be surprised to see us add Missouri to get the St. Louis market and then move a team over to the East.

If this is gonna happen, I just hope the 2 teams we get have great fanbases. That is one of the things that makes the SEC so great. Outside of a few teams (Vandy, etc), almost every team packs the stadium, tailgates like crazy, and lives football. I don't want that to change

Honestly if you're looking at markets, the ACC would've offered you guys an invite long ago. But Pitt would bring in a bigger market than WVU.

if you go by actual ratings, WVU is a bigger draw in the Pitt market than Pitt is... WVU is head and shoulders above the rest of the BE... and since the only thing AD's and presidents care about is money, WVU makes the most sense, as they have made the most money out of all the BE schools since the reform in 2005... you wanted to know how they fit, thats how, the almighty dollar sign...
