Gotham is in America, and I'm telling you in Canada you need to go North to find that happening. I have water all around me, and sure our little ponds freeze up, but major water ways with bridges and that don't even come close to that amount of ice.

Yeah I was having the same issue with time. It went from being normal weather, then all of a sudden its snowing and oh yeah, the water freezes over. And lets be fairly up front about this, it would take insane cold to get the water to freeze up enough where you could walk on it out a good distance. Honestly looking back at this movie, I feel that Heath Ledger dying fucked the franchise. It just seems like it was put out because people wanted an ending and to wrap things up. If Ledger was still around to play the Joker we probably would have got some more movies, but once he died, just seems like the air went out of the tires. And the reason I think of this is because of the timeline of the movies. BB starts it off, and TDK is right after, no break in time basically. Then DKR is 8 years later. So you are telling me that in the say 9 years in the Batman Universe, the only people who showed up were Ras, Joker and Bane (scarecrow I guess)? No Riddler, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, or the slew of other villians in the Batman world?

It just to me seemed to perfect. End of the Dark Knight, Batman runs off to take the blame, the Dent Law comes in and the streets are cleaned up. Sorry, that just seems to easy. Like I said, it just seems like they came up with every easy way possible to tie up everything. And as JR said, the first couple of movies had that some what believeable factor to it. But now a nuclear bomb that will blow up everything, the President getting involved. Seems like Nolan had Bay on speed dial for this.

Did you really think Christopher Nolan, and Christian Bale would go on and on making Batman movies? That would never happen. A trilogy was the most they would ever do, and luckily we got that. Nolan was able to do what is impossible in the comics, give Batman an ending to his career. You have to respect him for doing so, and love the fact that Bruce Wayne ended up happy. While in the comics the idea of Batman devoting his entire life to fighting crime is a romantic notion, that level of fantasy doesn't work in these movies that are grounded in realism. It's impossible for Bruce's journey as Batman to be an eternal struggle. In TDKR Bruce Wayne accomplished his goal, he inspired Gotham, and he was able to move past the despair and suffering that surrounded him since he was a child. Marvelous ending in my opinion.

There was a 5 month gap between Bane blowing the bridges/stadium and the events at the conclusion of the movie - it isn't like it was one day sunny autumn football weather, than all of a sudden it snowed overnight.

They were pretty clear that Gotham was under occupation and that time had passed. Did you want a montage over the course of 5 months giving us weekly updates on the situation in Gotham?

You watch Batman Begins? They jumped forward about 20 years.

Anybody complaining about plot-holes about how he got back into Gotham is a moron. Really? Billionaire, master detective fucking batman can't manage the intricacies of hopping a train like a hobo, and he never thought to maybe have a backup suit somewhere outside of Gotham?

Are you kidding me? There were plenty of context clues that tell you time has gone by. Past that IIRC they even said 5 months until this shit blows. They said that 3 months have gone by later on and then I remember later someone at one point said 23 days were left.

How about the part where it's nice and light outside after the stock market attack, and they start that short countdown for a program to be done. 3 minutes into the countdown, it's nighttime when Batman first shows up.

I think the biggest problem people are having with this is film is accepting Nolan's jump in "scope" from the previous movies. The villans always lose no matter how much damage they inflict in the first 3/4s of the movie. In BB the villans only achieved causing Havoc on "The Narrows..." In TDK the Joker caused wide spread panic and took over the mob... In both those movies Batman mopped the floor with the bad guys and saved the city in the final act... In TDKR Nolan took it to the next level and had Bane break Batman physically and pretty much destroy Gotham like half way through the movie!!! People didn't seem to be ready for Batman to lose. And Bane succeeded in doing it about half way into the movie, which made it feel like a "jump the shark" moment. Add in the fact most of Nolan's films have issues in the editing department and I can see why people are bitching...

However, I enjoyed the hell out of it! I loved the fact that Wayne/Batman had limits, lost and quit!... The best trilogy ever made IMO. The biggest problem for me was getting over how unattractivetive Anne Hathaway's face is... Not a fan... She can act I'll give her that, but for what ever reason I can't find my self buying how athletic and witty they made her out to be.
