They won both of those games. That's how the 49ers play... they sit back in zone and wait for you to make a mistake. They've given up passing yards all year. If they give up 300 in the air and get two picks, they consider that a win. That's their M.O.

the last time these teams played, the Giants were still recovering from their mass of injuries or just coming out of them and only lost by 7.

you shouls all know by now that playing Coughlin twice is the Kiss of death.

The Giants rely on their running game more than the Saints do, and it's pretty obvious what happens when you try to run on the 49ers. 49ers take the trip to Indy.

Eli has obviously proven he is. The Giants will be more effective in the Red Zone than the Saints were. And again, you arent just dealing with Eli, you are dealing with Coughlin and his staff who dont let second chances go to waste

He rushed 6 times and didn't play in the 2nd half I vaguely recall. Hunter did have a good game in relief tho.

Figure the Giants will continue their anti-TE measures with Boley and a safety. Have Webster handle Crabtree and hopefully contain Gore/Hunter. Force them into passing situations and get to Smith.

If Walker plays, you aren't going to be able to focus on just Davis at TE. Walker is just as dangerous.

I'm not looking forward to playing Manning again. He seems to always be able to pull sh*t out of his a$$ in big games

I expect a very close one again. I think we can all agree that the Giants are the "hot" team right now...but they're always on the cusp of slipping back into their 9-7 form. The 49ers have essentially been hot all damn season, and really brought it last week.

Just like the Saints, if we play our game, we win. Force turnovers, dominate field position, take a trip to Indy. Simple as that.

One thing that has me most worried is SF special teams. They are strong at every aspect. Meanwhile, the only strength for the Giants is Steve Weatherford. Tynes is hit or miss and there is absolutely no return game to speak of.

People having faith in the Niners has me worried. None of you are supposed to think theyre gonna win. I think The Niners have a chance, but its gonna come down to who protects the QB better, IMO. Eli struggles when he's pressured, Alex Smith collapses under pressure. Whichever team does a better job of getting to the QB will win the game, at least thats my thought. Odds are pretty good the Niners will out-rush the Giants and the Giants will out-pass the Niners its just a matter of who executes their gameplan, who can create turnovers, and who can get to the QB.

The 49ers RB (Hunter and Dixon) rushed for a collect 50 yards I think. That win was all defense, Alex Smith, and David Akers.

I welcome the G-men to try this. Delanie Walker will be back from his broken jaw and Vernon Davis is looking better than he had been all year.

If all goes well...

I think the battle between 49ers offense and Saints defense will be most crucial at the line of scrimmage (cliche, I know--but still). If the 49ers O-Line can keep Smith off the grass then I think they will find success. If he's getting pressured hard then out best bet is a FG fest and to hope for our defense to keep creating turnovers.
