I said quality. That doesn't mean they have the exact same style of play. Furthermore, they are both physical corners, so I don't even understand how you can say they are entirely different players. Aqib is more of a risk taker, but they are both very solid.

Aqib has just lost focus at times throughout his two year career, and this is the year for him to truly shine as he has matured a bit.

Talib is simply not that type of corner. It's why he's a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. Yes, he is extremely physical. He's big and he's limber.

But he can't run step for step with the game's best receivers and is best suited in the Tampa 2.

That's like saying Ronde Barber in the past was the same quality corner as Champ Bailey.

He might be a star and make plays, but they're two different kind of players.

So you're saying Aqib Talib can be as valuable to the Bucs in their current scheme as Revis is to the Jets?

Under Raheem the defense has taken on a more hybrid role, and isn't the same Tampa-2 that you saw under Dungy and Gruden. They run much more man coverage with many more blitz packages and even lining up in a 3-4 from time to time.

Actually, last year Talib shadowed team's best receivers and did a very good job at it. Granted, he had some moments that weren't shutdown-corner plays, but my prediction was for an elevated play this year. He completely shut down Steve Smith, Desean Jackson, Greg Jennings, and held Randy Moss to 60 yards.

And furthermore, insight to just how good Talib is:

Ronde Barber predicts that Aqib Talib will break all of his franchise records for the Buccaneers.

"In 10 years, I won't be the Bucs' all-time leading interceptor," Barber said. "It will be Aqib Talib. ... He's got 10 times the ball skills that I have." Talib has nine INTs through two seasons and has already passed Barber as the Bucs' top current corner. He'll shadow No. 1 receivers again this year.
