TOP: Bengals RB C.J. Spiller follows the cut-block of FB Jacob Hester on his way to a game-winning 62-yard touchdown run with 3:46 remaining in the fourth quarter. The touchdown made the score 28-23 and was a career-long run for Spiller. BOTTOM: Spiller also scored the game's first touchdown. The Bengals came out with an EMPTY 5-wide set with Spiller lined up at wide receiver. Before the snap he went into motion then took a handoff and spun his way out of a gang tackle on his way to a 6-yard touchdown that made the score 7-0 in the first quarter.

SPILLER'S LATE 62-YARD TOUCHDOWN BURST GIVES BENGALS THRILLING 28-23 VICTORY OVER BUFFALO
Score in final minutes caps off comeback rally as Cincinnati improves to 6-3 | Held in check the majority of the game, second year running back comes up with big play when needed most | Martz: Ugly win, but we'll take it

Bengals RB C.J. Spiller's career-long 62-yard touchdown run provided the game-winning points as Cincinnati overcame a 23-14 fourth quarter deficit to defeat Buffalo 28-23 at cold & rainy Paul Brown Stadium. Spiller, who had carried the ball 14 times for just 16 yards up to that point, scored the game's first and last touchdowns as his team won their sixth game out of their last seven. The second year running back out of Clemson finished the game with 17 carries for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns and also added 3 receptions for 36 yards on the day.

After storming out to 14-3 lead, Cincinnati fell behind in the second quarter and the Bills scored the game's next 20 points. The team had problems holding QB Kevin Kolb in check as the Bills off-season free agent pick-up went 23 of 28 for 354 yards and two touchdowns. In the end though, it was the Bengals who made just enough plays to come away with a victory.

Bengals QB Carson Palmer, who posted a season-low 46.4 passer rating and just 158 passing yards in the stormy conditions, stepped up in the fourth quarter along with WR Chad Ochocinco. Ochocinco was held without a catch through three quarters but came to life with 5 fourth quarter receptions for 49 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown catch that made the score 23-21 with 11:25 to go in the game.

Palmer saw intense pressure throughout the game and was sacked 6 times. Bills DE Aaron Maybin, the league leader in sacks with 13, abused Bengals first round pick RT Anthony Davis and took down Palmer 4 times.

"This was about as ugly as it can get but there will be games like this and a win is a win," said Bengals head coach Mike Martz.

"Coming into the game, we were tops in the league as far as not allowing sacks but Buffalo did a great job. Fortunately for us though we made just enough plays to come out with a win."

The Bills would get one last chance to come away with a win. After trading possessions, Buffalo got the ball back with under a minute remaining in penetrated to the Bengals' 34-yard line. However Kolb's desperation heave with :58 left to WR Lee Evans in the end zone was batted away by the out-stretched hand of Bengals FS Taylor Mays to preserve Cincinnati's win.

"This is the mark of a good team. Good teams find a way to win games when things aren't going their way and we did just that today." said Martz.

Cincinnati (6-3) will host three-time defending NFC Champion Arizona (3-6) next week on ESPN's Monday Night Football. The Cardinals are struggling following the retirement of QB Kurt Warner and the departures of WR Anquan Boldin to the Giants in free agency and head coach Ken Whisenhunt to Houston this past off-season. New QB Jason Campbell and new head coach Mike Solari's crew have lost 5 straight games after starting the season 3-1.

Ducking in to see the best 'chise on this or any board. Very nice. A couple of OT games. A 10-6 game which must've been pure bliss (I need to go back and read the report to see if that was the case). Lots of close games and different types of scores. You're starting to win, but we don't see the 16-0 regular season going on. Another fine DGZ production in high gear. Kinda weird not seeing it on the college level, but the Madden boards are better for it.

What's up B,

This season has been nothing short of amazing so far. We're getting all sorts of wins: comebacks, blow outs, blown out, OT win, OT loss, defensive struggles, and just good ole solid W's.

Hopefully we can keep this streak going because it is playoffs or bust for me this go around or the hot seat will start to heat up for your's truly.

this chise is amazing man keep it up

Appreciate it man...thanks.

Wow, great win over the Steelers! You really have the Bengals headed in the right direction. A few more wins and we may have to start throwing the "P" word around. Spiller has been a beast for you. Good luck the rest of the way!

No doubt about it man, Spiller has become a clutch playmaker. We just have to continue to focus on one game at a time. If we do that, I think we can take this division. It looks like it is just a two-horse race.

A 13-play drive in the 4th quarter!?!?! There's one word for that: C-L-U-T-C-H CLUTCH. That was huge! Palmer played a hell of a game and, I say it every week, Spiller continues to impress and be a offensive threat no matter the opponent. Looking forward to the next update!

We've been able to put together those types of drives in crucial situations several times this year. This team definitely has some clutch players.

We just gotta get Palmer's INTs under control. We do that, we'll be pretty tough to beat.

As a lifelong Bills fan, I would love to see them actually acquire Kevin Kolb :)

Great win! Your team is on a serious roll!

Kolb is a very good QB. Philly will have a tough decision to make on him very soon. I think that guy can start for some teams.

I wouldn't be surprised if he landed in Buffalo some day. It may be time for "Captain Checkdown" to go.

Another huge win. Spiller continues to be nothing short spectacular. It was nice to see Pittsburgh pick up another loss and give you a solid lead in the north. If Palmer can find his stride you could have the best offense in the league. Next week should be a pretty tough test of your defense although Anquan not being there should help considerably. Good luck!

Congrats on the comeback win! Spiller came through in the clutch like most of your team has done this season. I have been checking each week on Mays' tackle count and he seems to be coming into his own each week with a handful of tackles and a sack.

LEFT: Bengals QB Carson Palmer tied a career-high with 5 touchdown passes during Monday night's game versus Arizona. Palmer finished the day 22 of 29 for 286 yards. RIGHT: Bengals second year FS Taylor Mays scored the first touchdown of his career, taking a second quarter interception back 80 yards to give Cincinnati a 14-10 lead that they would never relinquish.

BENGALS DOMINATE CARDINALS IN 42-20 MONDAY NIGHT ROMP
QB Palmer has a career-night tossing 5 touchdowns as Cincinnati cruises to 7-3 record | RB Spiller continues his tear with 105 yard rushing performance | Mays, Bengals defense holds Arizona without an offensive touchdown until final minutes | Cincinnati surpasses 2010 win total of six

The Cincinnati Bengals won their third straight game and their seventh in their past eight games, blowing past the Arizona Cardinals 42-20 Monday Night at Paul Brown Stadium. Bengals QB Carson Palmer was the catalyst for the team's offensive explosion, throwing five touchdown passes on the night and finishing with 286 passing yards before taking the bench midway through the fourth quarter.

After throwing an interception that was returned for a touchdown by Cardinals CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on the Bengals' opening series, Palmer caught fire throwing 3 touchdown passes in the first half. He connected with WR Shaun McDonald for two of his first half touchdown throws. Their 72-yard first quarter hook-up cut the Bengals' early deficit to 10-7.

Early in the second quarter, still down 10-7, the Cincinnati defense would come up with a big play of their own. Second year FS Taylor Mays, drafted last season in the first round out of USC, scored the first touchdown of his young NFL career, stepping in front of Cardinals QB Jason Campbell's pass intended for WR Larry Fitzgerald on a deep post route. Mays came down with the interception and returned it 80 yards for a score, giving Cincinnati a 14-10 lead.

The Bengals would go on to outscore Arizona 21-0 in the second quarter on their way to a commanding 28-10 halftime lead.

Palmer's 1-yard touchdown pass to TE Ryan Moya early in the fourth quarter made the score 42-13 and provided the final dagger to Arizona (3-7), losers of each of the last three Super Bowls.

Cincinnati (7-3) will travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks (4-6) next week at Qwest Field. The game will mark the team's first time going against former Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Lining up opposite Houshmandzadeh is Seahawks 2010 first round pick WR Dez Bryant. Seattle QB Byron Leftwich, in his first season with the team, is off to one of the best starts of his career, throwing 11 touchdowns compared to just 3 interceptions.

Good luck!

No doubt about it...When Palmer is on his game, we are tough to stop, as evidenced by the Cardinals games.

Things are looking up in Cincy.

Congrats on the comeback win! Spiller came through in the clutch like most of your team has done this season. I have been checking each week on Mays' tackle count and he seems to be coming into his own each week with a handful of tackles and a sack.

Mays seems to be getting better with each game. He is really coming into his own and starting to make big plays each and every week. I have to admit, I was a little worried about him after year 1 but he is starting to live up to the hype now.

Nice win again. You guys are really turning the corner, and that win over the Steelers had to be huge for your franchise. You shut down my boy Marshawn:(

The Steelers win was definitely a turning point for this chise. They had blown us out each and every time we've played them. It took great concentration and focus to win that game. You really have to play a near-flawless game to beat that team. Hopefully they can drop another game or two and give us some more cushion.

Great 'chise you got going here, Geezy, my favorite to read at the moment. My question is, why does it seem like Chad is so uninvolved in your offense?

I think the offense has evolved a bit and has become more of a "spread it out" offense unlike last year where Chad caught over 100 passes. With guys like Spiller, Floyd, McDonald, and Coffman all stepping up in the receiving department, that cuts into Chad's catches.

I would indeed like to get him more involved though.

Wow...running back by committe and lots of rushing attempts....i thought the Bengals were more of an "air it out" kind of team....at least that's how I play with them...then again you're 7-3 so it's working. How did you get so many backs so many carries? did you do it yourself or is the cpu subbing guys in like that.

I still consider us an air-it-out attack but I am trying to be a little more balanced to protect the defense.

With this last particular game, we were up big most of the second half so that's why the rushing attempt count was slightly higher than usual. We ran for pretty much the entire fourth quarter save for a pass or two.

As far as substituting backs, I do it on my own. I use the sub packages like "sub HB," "HB Wide," and "Jumbo."

I also use Scott as my back-up RB in the first and third quarter and Harrison as my back-up in the second and fourth quarter. I like to spread out the carries by the reserves and the fullbacks.

The reason Elzy got so many carries is because of "safety" issues and not wanting any of my main backs to get injured in the meaningless fourth quarter.

Another great win against the cards. Spiller has to be climbing up that MVP list. Is it too early to say I smell playoffs in Cincy? Good luck in your next game!

this is fucking amazing dude, keep it up

Thanks man.

Another great win against the cards. Spiller has to be climbing up that MVP list. Is it too early to say I smell playoffs in Cincy? Good luck in your next game!

He is up to #2 on the MVP Watch list. I may start documenting the MVP list progress in the next couple of weeks. He is in a battle with Tom Brady and Drew Brees for the honor.

The Bengals are like, "what 0-2 start"? Got the team on a roll right now, 7-1 the last 8 games

Yep..The team is clicking on all cylinders. I would like to have better pass defense but we're getting just enough out of that side of the ball to win.

Great job on the last couple of games. Everyone on the team seemed to play well in the Arizona game. Taylor Mays is coming along nicely. Good luck against the Seahawks. What are some of Dez Bryant's ratings and stats?

Dez is in year two of his career after being picked 12th overall by the Seahawks last year. 83 overall, 88 speed, 92 catching

Had 51 rec for 567 yds and 5 tds his rookie year. 31 rec 224 yds and 1 td so far this year as Seattle's #2 receiver.

Another win and another impressive week for CJ Spiller. We are talking about this kid every week! He is definitely making a case for OPOY. Carson was also very impressive tossing 5 touchdown's in the the blowout.

Facing Seattle next week, I don't see the combo of Houshmanzadeh and Bryant doing too much damage to your secondary.

Great progress with the Bengals so far! Keep it up.

Very nice job. I'll be following! Mind checking out my 'chise? I got the Vikings one.

Thanks for the kind words fellas.

Josh, I been checking yours out. Sorry if I haven't been able to reply.

hey, what programs or formats do you use to put up the stats

I use notepad.

Spiller is getting better and better each week. It looks like a "Face of the Franchise" is brewing in Cincy.

T.J. and Dez are going to be difficult to stop. Hopefully Leftwich doesn't go robo-QB on me.

Is that Leroy Selmon in your avatar?

Bengals QB Carson Palmer's 16-yard touchdown pass to WR Kevin Curtis started off the day's scoring, giving Cincinnati a 7-0 first quarter lead that they would never give up. Palmer finished the game 26 of 33 for 229 yards and two touchdowns while Curtis finished with 5 receptions for 47 yards.

Signal caller tosses two touchdowns to lead Cincinnati to their 8th win in last 9 games | RB Spiller accounts for 113 all-purpose yards in another solid outing | Team set to take on QB Tim Tebow for the first time next week

The Cincinnati Bengals won their fourth consecutive game Sunday, defeating the Seattle Seahawks 29-14 at Qwest Field. Bengals QB Carson Palmer's 229 passing yards and two touchdowns paced Cincinnati as they continued their impressive 2011 campaign. Palmer's 10-yard touchdown pass to WR Chad Ochocinco with 8:54 remaining made the score 26-14, all but ending Seattle's comeback hopes.

Cincinnati struck first in the game as Palmer found WR Kevin Curtis for a 16-yard first quarter touchdown giving the Bengals a 7-0 lead.

The team would never trail in the contest and a 16-point fourth quarter sparked by a 17-yard touchdown run by back-up RB Bernard Scott was too much for Seattle (4-7) to overcome.

The Bengals (8-3) will host struggling Baltimore (3-8) next week at Paul Brown Stadium. It has been a rough year for the Ravens, who have been without starting QB Joe Flacco (herniated disk) and MLB Ray Lewis (fractured shoulder blade) for much of the season. QB Tim Tebow (77), a late first round draft pick from a year ago, has started in Flacco's absence and has mostly struggled tossing only 3 touchdowns and 7 interceptions through 6 games.

Four of the Bengals remaining five opponents have 3-8 records. Only the Rams (9-2), who the team will face in week 16 on Christmas Night, have a winning record.

Another solid victory. Looked like it was another game you never lost control of. Looking at the stats, it looks like Housmanzadeh and Bryant combined for a total of 5 catches and 66 yards. Not bad in shutting down the opposition's top two targets.

Spiller actually appeared to have a rather average day by his standards lol. Still, 113 all-purpose is nothing to sneeze at either. Looks like you have a relatively easy schedule down the stretch. Hopefully you can stay focused and not allow one of those teams to "steal" a victory from you.

Bengals | Ochocinco sends Ravens a gift
Thu, Dec 1 2011 15:44:49 -0700
Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that according to his Twitter page, Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco sent a special gift package addressed to the Baltimore Ravens defense. The Pro Bowl wideout sent over 22 boxes of Kleenex along with 22 cartons of Bengay which arrived at Ravens headquarters Wednesday morning. "I just wanted to look out for them boys," said Ochocinco. "It's been a long season for them and I know I would be in tears if we were as awful as them with a 3-8 record." Asked about the Bengay, Ochocinco responded, "That defense of theirs is going to need it to recover from the hurt we're going to put on them Sunday. Ray Ray is lucky to be hurt and not be involved in this game."
