OGOchoCinco: Also big ups to my homey Jordan Palmer (61), who just signed a deal with Washington to be the back-up. Keep grindin' and don't listen to the haters young buck.

Congrats on getting that first win of 2011. It appears the offense runs right through Spiller. I have to agree with you about the Fault comparison. The guy get 75 on the ground and 89 in the air...very versatile. Maybe the kind of guy that will lead the league in yards from scrimmage. Good luck against Jacksonville!

Way to rebound after the Steelers game. Shaun Hill played well. I guess the Spiller/McDonald play was a lot like the Hakeem Nicks play from this past weekend. Good luck next week.

You're right...it had the same feel to it. I actually played that game Sunday morning before the real life action started. I had no idea that my play would be comparable to a real life play that same day. Good stuff.

Great win man. Hill really played lights out. Spiller was great as well. He had a ton of all purpose yards. The defense looked great against the run, a little flaky against the pass but I guess when you force four interceptions you can't complain too much about the yardage allowed in garbage time. Overall a great game. It was nice to see Mays leading the stat line for tackles. Good luck against the Jags!

Spiller is a beast. He already has over 400 all-purpose yards this year. I could certainly see him leading the NFL in that category this year.

Mays is finally becoming the dominant force we need him to be. He is in around a lot more plays this season compared to last.

Loving the twitter.. great addition.

Haha loving the OCNN updates

Thanks fellas. Chad will be dropping news from around the NFL from time to time.

Thanks man...About to fire up the game in a moment. Spiller is becoming our MVP. I hope his ground game improvement continues.

Bench Sick Note and give Hill the hot seat full time!

Not quite ready to do that man. Palmer is so accurate and really runs the offense perfectly. Hopefully this was his last setback for a good while.

Yeah the twitter part is a great sidebar, I dig it

Great win over the Texans....Hill held down the fort until Palmer returns next game

He had to wear a bulky brace and padding to protect the injury which required surgery just less than two weeks ago. BENGALS OVERCOME EARLY DEFICIT, OUTLAST JAGS 24-17
QB Palmer successful in his return, throws for 250 yards and a touchdown to lead Cincinnati to second straight victory | CB Bowman's big fourth quarter touchdown seals the win for the Bengals | Team to travel to 2-2 Cleveland next week with a chance to go over .500

The Cincinnati Bengals, who trailed 10-0 early, were able to comeback and defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-17 Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. Cincinnati QB Carson Palmer, who missed last week's game after undergoing surgery to repair an upper arm fracture to his left, non-throwing arm, returned to the field and went 17 of 28 for 250 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Palmer's touchdown pass was thrown to WR Shaun McDonald , who went 70 yards for the score and cut Cincinnati's early deficit to 10-7 in the second quarter.

Just before halftime, the Bengals were facing a 3rd and 13 from the Jaguars' 24-yard line with under 20 seconds remaining in the half. Bengals head coach Mike Martz decided to play it safe to set up for a field goal via an off-tackle running play and a quick timeout. However Bengals RB C.J. Spiller had other plans, taking the handoff and going 24 yards for a touchdown to give Cincinnati a 14-10 lead going into halftime.

"Thinking back on the tide of the game and the way things were going at that point, that was a very pivotal sequence," said Martz.

"The thought at that moment was that we wanted to make sure that we came away with points and our odds of converting a 3rd and 13 were minimal at that part of the field, not to mention even if we do get it, the odds are stacked against us actually putting it into the endzone.

"C.J. did a great job of following his blockers and weaving his way for the score and it gave us a ton of momentum going into the break."

Late in the fourth quarter, with the Bengals leading 17-10, Jacksonville faced a 4th and 1 at the Bengals 28-yard line with under 7 minutes to go. On the play, Jaguars QB David Garrard dropped back to pass and setup an apparent tight end screen pass. However Garrard's pass attempt to TE Brad Cottam to the left sideline was ruled a lateral. Bengals CB Zackary Bowman scooped the ball up and returned it for a 69-yard game-clinching touchdown that made the score 24-10 with 6:38 to go in the game.

"The defense really buckled down after a very shaky start," said Bengals defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel.

"After that first quarter we decided to start to use a lot more zone pressures than we normally would and it seemed to have a big effect on Garrard.

"Bowman's big play was the result of good pressure and a rushed throw."

Cincinnati (2-2) will travel next week to face Cleveland (2-2).

Great win man. Spiller was a beast again. It was nice to McDonald back in form too after the injury from last season. Good luck against the Browns, hopefully you can pull off a win and climb into second place in the north.

Nice win. 2 in a row. Hopefully Palmer can stay healthy. I know Hill played well in his absence but I don't think Hill takes you to the playoffs and beyond.

Thanks...I actually think Hill could get the job done but there is no doubt, Palmer makes us a better football team.

With the Titans, Colts, and Steelers coming up, this is an early must-win contest. Hopefully we're up to the task.

Outside linebackers Vernon Gholston (LEFT) and Manny Lawson (RIGHT) each registered 2 sacks as the Bengals defense tormented Browns QB Brady Quinn throughout the day to the tune of 6 total sacks. Gholston's first quarter sack (shown above) on third down thwarted an early Browns scoring opportunity in which they had to settle for a field goal after reaching the Bengals 2-yard line with a full set of downs.

BENGALS DEFENSE STYMIES BROWNS IN 10-6 DEFENSIVE MASTERPIECE
Second quarter touchdown pass from Palmer to Ochocinco enough for Cincinnati to top in-state rivals and pick up 3rd straight victory | LBs Lawson and Gholston dominate Cleveland's highly-touted offensive line, collect two sacks apiece | Browns QB Quinn dropped six times in defeat

It wasn't pretty but the Cincinnati Bengals will take it, defeating the Cleveland Browns 10-6 Sunday afternoon on the road. Cincinnati QB Carson Palmer's 10-yard touchdown pass over the middle to WR Chad Ochocinco with 6:50 to go in the second quarter made the score 7-3 and was enough points for Cincinnati to come out of Cleveland with a "W."

Palmer completed 19 of his 28 passes for 228 yards on the day. His top target was dynamic RB C.J. Spiller, who hauled in 6 receptions for 101 yards and finished with 157 all-purpose yards.

The story of the game however was the play of the Cincinnati defense. Off to a somewhat slow start this season, Bengals defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel's group woke up and held Cleveland to just 233 total yards of offense and just 3 of 13 on third down conversions.

Bengals linebackers Vernon Gholston and Manny Lawson both notched 2 sacks on the day. LB Keith Rivers and CB Zackary Bowman also contributed to the sack part with take-downs of their own of Browns QB Brady Quinn.

"We knew that we could pressure Brady and confuse their line calls with our zone blitz schemes," said Crennel, who was the Browns' head coach from 2005 through 2008.

"Our defense really seems to be coming into their own and with guys like Lawson and Gholston starting to excel, the skies the limit for our unit."

The Browns final scoring opportunity came late in the fourth quarter with just over three minutes to play. They converted two first downs however they were stuffed on a 3rd and 2 rushing attempt by RB Jamal Lewis and were forced to put with 2:12 remaining in the game from their own 40-yard line, deciding to put the game into the hands of their defense.

The Bengals offense got the ball back and converted two first downs while forcing Cleveland (2-3) to exhaust all of their timeouts. They were stopped on a 3rd and 15 late in the drive and had to punt from their own 42-yard line with less than 0:20 remaining. Bengals P Ken Huber, who had a remarkable 6 of 6 punts land inside the 20 during the contest, pinned Cleveland deep at their own 8-yard line with a 50-yard boot with just 0:03 to go in the game.

"This was a game of field position and with the great job Huber did today, we won that battle in a rout," said Bengals special teams coach Bobby April.

On the Browns' final desperation heave, Quinn hit WR Chansi Stuckey on a deep post pattern but Cincinnati SS Craig Steltz laid a vicious hit on the former Jets receiver and jarred the ball loose to preserve the Bengals' big win.

Cincinnati (3-2) will have a BYE in week 6 before facing undefeated Tennessee on the road in week 7. New Titans QB Trent Edwards (82) is off to the best start of his career, posting a career-best 99.1 passer rating thus far this season while RB Chris Johnson (94) is the NFL's third leading rusher with 498 yards.

Dang what an impressive showing by the defense. The linebacking core really played lights out. Spiller continues to get his yards in every way shape and form. It was nice to see Ochocinco find the endzone after a quiet game last week. Tennesse looks tough. I think the key will be to stop their run and force Edwards to pass a little more than he would like to. Chris Johnson is a beast if he can get outside. He has shredded me in the past. You can definitely beat them though. Good luck man!

An great win over the Browns.....I figured the defense would need some time to get comfortable running the 3-4, but that was a step in the right direction.....Gholston and Lawson are key in that scheme and they stepped up this game...what a game from Spiller too, he did it all

3rd and 13 and you call a running play that goes for a TD.....that was a huge turning point in the game right there

No doubt...We were simply playing it safe there and lucked out with a big momentum-swinging run going into the locker room. Big time play there.

Great wins, looks like Spiller is developing into an All-Pro. Only NFL chise I follow:)

Thanks man...He is over 500 all-purpose yards for the year. I'd like to see a little more ground production but that'll come with time. He is definitely becoming Martz's new Marshall Faulk.

As always, DGZ, great work. Gotta keep Palmer healthy now with that run of games you have coming up.

He is too fragile in this game. I hold my breath every time he even gets touched by a defender.

A Vernon Gholston sighting?!?!?!?!?! This is unheard of. He isn't supposed to get 2 sacks in a game. Hahah. Great defensive effort by the Bengals. Looks like that young, fast defense is paying off this year. Keep it up, let's win next week too.

Gholston and Lawsom coming off the edge have been deadly. If they keep this production up, we may see more 10-6 type games in the near future.

Tennessee is looking great right now. It'll be an interesting challenge. I didn't even mention that they have MLB Paul Poszulusny. I have a feeling that this may be another defensive battle and that points will come at a premium.

Three wins in a row, on a roll! Quinn did a good job for the Browns at 19 for 26 and Palmer wasn't too shabby either, I'm surprised it was so low scoring. Keep up the good work!

I think both punters did a good job in this game. Sure Quinn went 19 of 26, but he was doing it starting from within his 10-yard line most of the way. My punter Ken Huber nailed all 6 of his punts within the opposition's 12-yard line.

I seem to be getting better on the defensive side of the ball. Play-calling is a bigger factor. I think knowing when to call the right defense is as big as ever in this Madden.

I can't say enough about Spiller. I smell a Pro Bowl in his not so distant future.

:(

Way to pull out three in a row Deegeezy. Still looking great.

Appreciate it man, thanks. Hopefully we can make this streak continue with another W.

nice win over the browns

Thanks bro.

I absolutely love 10-6! I wish that I could see a score like that! :)

Without a doubt, those are the most fun games of Madden. I wish I could have more games like that. I think more people enjoy those types of games than the makers of the game realize.

Same here!

Nice of CJ to make up for his lack of a rushing offense in the receiving game, lol!

Yeah he's getting open pretty well when I line him up in the slot. He's having some success on the screen passes as well. I stay away from the running back in the flats cheese though. If I didn't, he'd catch 20 passes a game.

Yours is NCAA/NFL:headscratch:. So technically 2 :D

Looking forward to your upcoming updates:whistle:

:jonesy:

Nice win man. Can't wait to see how you do against the TItans.

I'll be firing that one up today at some point (after taking care of the honey-do's). Should be a fun game.

Bengals RB C.J. Spiller darts his way to the endzone for a 13-yard touchdown that made the score 7-0 on the game's opening possession. The Bengals went 74 yards on 12 plays taking up 6:35 of game clock during the drive to start Sunday's contest.

BENGALS WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT, TOP PREVIOUSLY UNBEATEN TENNESSEE 24-13
Bengals RB Spiller electrifies, amassing 146 all-purpose yards and 3 touchdowns all in the first half | For the second straight week, Cincinnati's defense does not allow opponent into the endzone | Bengals now prepare to face Peyton Manning and the Colts next week at home

The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-13 Sunday afternoon in Nashville. Bengals RB C.J. Spiller scored 3 first half touchdowns to pace Cincinnati to its fourth consecutive win following an 0-2 start to the season. Spiller, a second year player out of Clemson, finished the game with 74 rushing yards and a touchdown along with 6 receptions for 72 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns.

Late in the second quarter, up just 17-13, the Bengals would get big plays out of WR Kevin Curtis and Spiller. QB Carson Palmer found Curtis on a short drag rout in which the former Utah State product would turn into a 61-yard reception setting up Cincinnati at the 14-yard line and in prime field position to score just before halftime. On 3rd and 8 Spiller would catch a screen pass from Palmer in which he took into the endzone from 12 yards out to make the score 24-13 with 0:18 remaining in the half.

"That was a big play just before halftime by C.J.," said Bengals offensive coordinator Henry Ellard.

"That gave us some cushion and I think in a way it made Tennessee start to press a little bit in the second half offensively & (defensive coordinator) Romeo Crennel and his men feasted."

In the second half, the Bengals defense would do just that. Tennessee (6-1) struggled to move the football against the suddenly stout Bengals defense and were shutout in the second half. The deepest the Titans would penetrade would be the Cincinnati 35-yard line, but Bengals CB Leon Hall's strip of WR Kenny Britt resulted in a turnover as MLB Rey Maualuga would fall on the football to thwart the fourth quarter scoring threat.

The Titans finished with just 244 total offensive yards and Tennessee QB Trent Edwards was held to just 172 passing yards on the day.

Cincinnati (4-2) will host Indianapolis (3-3) next week at Paul Brown Stadium. The Colts will be minus star SS Bob Sanders, who will miss the game with a broken forearm.

Notes: Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco left the game in the second quarter with what is being called a bruised sternum. He did not return to the game however Cincinnati head coach Mike Martz indicated that Ochocinco would be available for next week's game.

what a win! the defense stepped up huge and spiller was lights out. It looks like you did a pretty good job keeping tennessee's offense off the field. The defense didn't even give up a touchdown...beast. They are really going to be put to the test next game when Peyton and his colts come to town. Hopefully the offense can still put up big numbers with Sanders out. I'm really hoping Pittsburgh will drop one here so you can take the division lead. Good luck in your next game!
