I like the Peterson pick....he has great size for a corner, should be able to jam a lot of receivers at the line

Digging the Green pick too.....your backfield, which is already nuts, just got even deeper
 
Called it!!! Love the Peterson pick...now I'm really irked that VSN went down when I was writing my draft preview for you lol. Anyway, I think Peterson will be a big boost to the secondary with his size and may be able to keep a Reggie Wayne from running free on a jam or press ;)

Thanks man...That's the plan. I want to be more balanced but I don't necessarily want to be a smash mouth, power running team. I needed another scat back badly.

You definitely called it on the PM, man. It's a shame what happend to your write up. I bet it was top notch as usual.

It was either going to be Peterson or one of the top guards. In the end, I decided my backfield needed more attention and that I already had enough money invested in the o-line.

Green was simply the highest rated player left over and I feel and filled a need. He'll compete to be the kick returner replacing Bernard Scott and he will get some carries and touches every game.

I like the peterson pick a lot..It looks like he should have a legit chance to start. You have great depth at the running back position. Where will peterson be on the depth chart heading into the preseason? Good luck in the second half of the draft!

He'll start off at the bottom of the depth chart (dime corner right now) and have to work his way up. I'll probably bring in one more corner to compete in the preseason (likely a 7th rounder or undrafted free agent type).

Looks like the draft turned out really well. You definitely added a lot of depth and Green looks like he could be a stud down the road. If Astorino progresses well he could a beast at safety with that kind of speed. Looking forward to the preseason. Good luck man!

I like your draft though and it'll be interesting to see how your rookies contribute this year. Hopefully Stephon can get a good bit of carries.

Bio:Mike Martz (born May 13, 1951 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota) was hired by the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday, February 15, 2010.

Martz is known for creating complicated offensive schemes, particularly in the passing game. He is best known as the offensive coordinator behind the St. Louis Rams high-powered 1999 team that won the Super Bowl and earned the team the nickname "The Greatest Show on Turf." Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Bengals receivers Michael Floyd (76) and Jordy Nelson (77) will battle for the team's #2 receiver position behind WR Chad Ochocinco (89) during the preseason. Floyd was the team's second round pick in 2011 and Nelson signed a free agent contract with the club this past March.

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Bengals receivers Shaun McDonald (67), Kevin Curtis (69), Jacoby Ford (62), and rookie Jeff Fuller (51) will compete during the preseason for the team's #4 receiver spot. The team is expected to keep only five receivers on its final roster so two of the foursome will likely not make the team. It is believed that Ford has an edge on all of the receivers due to his return abilities.

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the Cincinnati Bengals have released FS Matt Giordano (64). Giordano, scheduled to make $1.4 million in 2012, was a victim of the salary cap and was made expendable following the team's selection of FS Drew Asorino (69) in April's draft.

With preseason set to begin, I would like to take this time to remind readers of this franchise's Preseason Rules (Full franchise rules are on page 1):

Preseason Player Transaction Rules

- 55 man roster can be carried starting with the beginning of the free agency signing period and going into the start of the NFL preseason.

- Must cut down to 47 players +1 Emergency Quarterback after preseason game #4

- Free agents can be signed at will without penalty who are either a.) rated lower than the lowest rated player on the Bengals' active roster at their respective position at the end of the off-season free agent signing period or b.) were on the Bengals active roster at some point during the current season. Two days must be skipped at the start of following season's free agency period for every player that is signed that has the same or a higher rating than a player on the Bengals depth chart at their respective position at any point between the start of the preseason and the end of the current season's Pro Bowl.

- All free agents signed during this time period must be signed to a one-year contract.​
