Gooooooooooooooood, Roethlisberger is fucking awful this game. He isn't going downfield at all. And if he isn't spinning in a circle and going down, he's checking down for a pass behind the LOS. What's the point of him playing all game? You could have gotten Dixon/Batch PT in case he re-aggrivates it in/near the playoffs. What's the point of a Ben at 50% letting your chance of winning sit like a statue and get sacked?

I didn't watch the game because I couldn't keep my eyes open. But I did seem him during warmups and thought "Are they fucking serious? He looks horrible and can barely move." He looked like he was going to be a complete detriment to the team and based on the highlights I saw that was the case. They might have actually had a chance with Batch out there. Playing Big Ben was idiotic in my opinion. Not only was he worthless out there but resting him would've probably put him in great shape for the final two games. So dumb.

The Steelers have been terrible all year. Roethlisberger is the main reason that they've won so many games. They look and play like an 8-8 team. There is no way that the Steelers beat a halfway decent team with Batch, because the Steeler D isn't that good and their offensive line can't run block. Putting Batch against a good Niners defense would be like conceding the game. If the Steelers could have won this game, they would have been in line for at worst a #2 seed and a bye. They could have rested Roethlisberger then.

I have no problem with the Steelers playing Roethlisberger. As village idiot Herm Edwards once said, you play to win the game.

I think the AFC is alot weaker this year than previous seasons.. Steelers aren't as good as they were 2004-2010. Colts won't be there with Manning, Patriots D is ass and the Ravens have lost games to Seahawks, Titans, Jaguars.

It's a perfect year for a team like the Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Bengals to take it by storm.. It's damn frustrating being 7-7 when we should be pushing for a first round bye given our roster.

Superbowl will definitely be won by an NFC team. Saints, Packers or 49ers.

I think the AFC is alot weaker this year than previous seasons.. Steelers aren't as good as they were 2004-2010. Colts won't be there with Manning, Patriots D is ass and the Ravens have lost games to Seahawks, Titans, Jaguars.

You fail to mention Baltimore swept Pitt, Beat San Fran, Beat the Bungles, Beat the J.E.T.S., and beat Houston. Thats already 3 of the 6 playoff teams (I don't count Cincy as a playoff team yet) beaten already, so to say the Ravens are weak.... meh'

It's any given sunday. Sure Baltimore has struggled playing away games. But if you give us home field advantage throughout the playoffs, you can almost count all those games as wins.

Green Bay did just lose the the Chiefs..., The Saints did lose to the Rams and the Buccaneers, 49ers did lose to Arizona.

So to say that the NFC hasn't shown signs of being weak by losing to teams that have no playoff shots and will win the superbowl, no doubt, is dumb.

9ers still scored only 20 points and both td's came after the defense was so tired even the colts could have scored on us.. be that as it may... of our 10 wins one is against a legit team (NE) and the rest are against teams that are .500 or worse. we are already in the playoffs, but it will be a one and done for us this year.

Yeah, but when Ben goes out there with less than zero mobility and only gets them within 50+ yard field goal range and turns the ball over 4 times. The Steelers offense ran 13 plays inside the 49ers 45 yard line. 2 of which were INTs, and 1 of which was that gimmicky 20-yard pass as opposed to hail mary. They ran ONE play in the 49ers red zone, and it was an interception. Their drives were:

A long drive that should have resulted in a long-FG try if Pittsburgh ever invested anything into a kicker
A 4-and-out
A long field goal made
A long FG try
Fumble
3-and-out
INT
3-and-out

Is Charlie Batch REALLY a worse option than that? IMO, he gave the Steelers the best chance of winning last night, unless he was going to turn the ball over 5 times and not run a single play in the redzone. Which he could be capable of, but I think it would take a bad game even by his standards. And the Steelers held them to 13 points before the 4th, so it's not like Batch had to produce a ton for them. Just get them in the redzone a couple of times and keep it close. Not to mention that Batch isn't as immobile as Drew Bledsoe with 2 broken feet like Ben was all night.

Exactly my point. I mean, he did get most of the reps in practice during the week.

But I thought the most baffling thing was why they didn't at least bring Batch in during the fourth quarter. The games was basically over and Ben was getting roughed up all game. Why have him continue to endure that? It made zero sense.
