Gee, I wonder how many threads will be bumped that had the even the smallest inkling of a slight on Aaron Rodgers. Can we limit the "I told you so" thread bumping to one week? This is going to get old quick.

Rodgers was amazing last night. I usually talk about how he has a better defense and how his receivers are better, but those WRs did nothing to help him out last night.

His throws were for the most part, money. An inch to the left or right, and they're picked off.

That being said, I still stand by my guy who spent the last four seasons playing under one of the worst coaches in football, with an underacheiving defense and receiving corps and the constant distractions that come with playing for his team.

It's funny how it's always a "team effort" unless Tony Romo is involved.

But Rodgers proved me wrong, he's to be congratulated and he deserves the accolades he's getting right now. He showed why he should be considered in the upper echelon.

I have to give you credit for admitting Rodgers was better but I definitely understand you standing by Romo. I thought you'd defend him to the grave but I was wrong. I suppose its the same with Sanchez and Stafford for me.

Rodgers completed 24/39, threw for 304 yards, 3 touchdowns, and a QB rating of 111.5 against the best defense in the NFL.

It's just amazing to think about what those numbers would look like if his receivers didn't drop 4 or 5 of those passes.

There were 3 or 4 passes that he threw on the money last night that were just straight lasers. One guy I was watching the game with said something like, "He needs to take a little off those passes, they can't catch those, he's throwing it too hard," to which I obviously replied, "This is the NFL, they have to catch those."

Rodgers has only been a starter for two years.

Three. 08-09 season was his first.

And are you guys serious? It's like saying Philip Rivers is better than Peyton Manning. They are both above average quarterbacks, but Rodgers is clearly the better quarterback.

Obviously its Rodgers>Romo and it isn't close now. He has played out of his mind during the playoffs and deserves a lot of the credit. He deserves to be listed as one of the top QBs in the league.

With that being said, everything in hindsight is 20/20. When this thread was created it was much closer of a choice. And although Romo isn't on Rodgers' level, I will still stand by him to the end and will take him over most of the QBs in this league.

What was Romo 1-5 before the injury? I'd stick with Kitna, he certainly commanded the offense better IMO. How long has this Romo debate been going on? You finally got a new coach, maybe, if they play this year, you could eliminate one excuse? the better ones recover from mistakes and thats what the Packers receivers did. Impressive, considering one of the top two was out of the game

Go and watch the way the team folded with Kitna against the Giants when Romo was knocked out.

Then watch the pathetic efforts against Jacksonville and Green Bay.

Then watch Kitna complete maybe five passes to a receiver per game on average.

Then come back here and tell me we were better off with Jon Kitna under center and that he had better command of the offense than a guy who was leading the league in passing when he went down, no thanks to his coach, line, or defense.
