Went to my first OSU game as a student today. IMO, this team, despite losing Evan Turner, is going to be better than last year's squad.
The freshman are ridiculous, Jared Sullinger had an outstanding game and grabs every rebound in sight (Reminds me a lot of Blake Griffin), finishing with 19 pts and 14 boards. For a man his size though, he is a terrific FT shooter, btw. DeShaun Thomas is a great scorer, finishing with 24 points as well as 8 boards, but needs to work on his defense though. We may have found our PG in freshman Aaron Craft, he had 8 points and 9 assists and ran the offense very well, a great flow when he was in the game.
Our veterans were steady, we got what we always do from Diebler, Buford, and Lighty, and Lauderdale had a fantastic game with 12 pts, 13 boards, and 8 blocks. Almost a triple double... 8 blocks. Played like a man possessed.
Biggest thing this year is we have so much depth. Last year we pretty much had a starting 5 with a weak 6th man, this year, we could legitimately start our entire second team and have a pretty good lineup. Big things are going to come from this group.
