Small request...Would it be possible for someone to make an image for me of just a long white block that stretches the post long enough so that 3 of the pictures above could fit in one row rather than 2 on top of 2? The block has to be pretty minimal in height, I just need something longer to stretch the post.

...Unless of course there is a better way of doing this that I am not thinking of.

Season 1, Episode 4: A Turn for the Worst
July 17, 2007

I was in shock.

Five minutes ago my worst fears involved belts and swearing but now, with Officer Gladbrook's solemn words they were torn apart. Like I said I was never close to any of my family, but even now my stomach turned as I pictured their cold bodies lieing rotting on the carpet.

Gladbrook put his hand on my shoulder and shook me a little but I didn't respond. Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime, I looked up into large brown eyes that radiated sadness everywhere.

"Collin, I-uh want you to know that if you need anything, anything at all please, just ask." He said quietly, as if not to be overheard.

I didn't respond, I wanted to run far, far away where I could forget all about the past hour. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew that wasn't possible so I murmered 'I need some fresh air' to Gladbrook and strolled outside consumed with grief for my parents, grief for Sarah and Michelle, who would never grow up and experience life's wonders and, through I did not want to admit it, terror at the thought of being alone in this world. Going to college alone, having no one there with me when I get married, no place to take my kids, it was all gone in one night.

Then I remembered. Larry. How could I be so stupid? I hated myself for thinking this, but I knew Larry still lived in the basement of our small house and since Gladbrook hadn't said his name I'd assumed he was still alive, but why wasn't he at the police station to console the only other living member of the Johnson family now?

I reached a hand into my pocket and grabbed my battered Nokia cellphone and frantically started to dial Larry's cell number.

"4-0-4-6-3-8-9-0-3....." I muttered under my breath as I jammed the phone up to my ear.

I had the feeling before I called the number that something was wrong. Gladbrook would have obviously have known Larry was living with us after that very public breakup with the Kansas City Chiefs three years ago but, then why hadn't he said anything. Still, after the sixth ring my stomach dropped as Larry's low drone of a voice hit my ear.

"Ayo you reached LJ's phone, hit me up later or leave a message, ya digg?"

My shoulders slumped and my head drooped as I admitted defeat. It had seemed like the last member of my family had deserted me. But why?

That question lingered in my head as I made my way back inside the police station where Gladbrook quickly caught up with me.

"You alright Collin? I saw you out there on your phone, everything good?" He asked me in a fatherly tone.

"You were spying on me?" I arched my eyebrow at him, and thought astoundingly about the fact I could use sarcasm at a time like this, "I was just calling my uncle, to see if things were ok, you know." I finished quickly.

Now it was his turn to arch an eyebrow. "Would that uncle of your's happen to be Larry Johnson?"

"What's he got to do with anything?" I sniped back, knowing I was getting closer to the center of things.

"Nothing Collin, but if you'd sit down I can get you some coffee I'd like to ask a few questions about him." It wasn't a question as much as an order so I resigningly sat down in a black armchair in front of Gladbrook's desk. A minute later he came back with two steaming cups of coffee, placing one down in front of me and sipping the one left in his hand.

"Collin I'd like to know if Larry ever brought any strange people home with him." He asked me as he fiddled with his coffee cup.

I thought for a minute. Now that I thought about it, in the almost two years Larry lived with us he had never once brought a girl home which, now that I thought about it was strange for a former NFL player, especially one with his status.

"No," I responded slowly, "He hasn't brought anyone home now that I think of it.

"Did you ever notice him bring anything strange home?"

We were definetely getting to the thick of things now. I decided to be as honest as possible.

"Sometimes he brought square cases home but he said they were just stuff he got shipped out from KC, you know." I said coyly.

Gladbrook suddenly got up from his desk and walked around to face me, looking older than I'd ever seen him.

"Mr. Johnson, I should not be telling you this but I know how it feels to lose a loved one or loved ones suddenly," He said strongly through he would not look at me, choosing instead to look over my shoulder, "But, preliminary evidence shows that your uncle, Larry, was a drug runner and a large one at that. You could call him a kingpin if you wanted...... But, according to the evidence we gathered from the house which included over five grams of cocaine, he has become our primary suspect, I'm sorry."

Long has the North been the weaker of the two Big 12 divisions and this year is no different. With no one team ready to take a stranglehold on the North championship and every team except Iowa State having a realistic chance at winning the North title, this could be an interesting season to watch. In Nebraska, the state's pride and joy trots out their best scuad in a few years headlined by tailback Roy Helu and big nose tackle Ndamukong Suh, the Huskers feel this is the year they return to glory. In Kansas, the Jayhawks are still on cloud nine after their breakout 2007 and with star quarterback Todd Reesing as well as his two favorite targets, Dezmon Briscoe and Kerry Meier, returning they could easily meet those expectations from that magical year. In Kansas State Bill Snyder takes over a team that lost it's biggest playmaker Josh Freeman early to the NFL Draft. If the 'Cats want to have a big year they need another QB to step up big. Dan Hawkins has the Buffs of CU ready for action with a rejuvenated offense led by tailback Darrell Scott and his son Cody Hawkins, a three year starter at quarterback. The Buffs haven't won more than 6 games since 2006 but this year could change that. Gary Pinkel's team lost playmakers Chase Daniel and Jeremy Maclin and does not have any visible replacements for them but the Tigers return a strong defense led by outside 'backer Sean Weatherspoon that could save this team from turmoil. Up in Ames, there is not much left in the cupboard Gene Chizik left bare except for quarterback Austin Arnaud, a player compared to Donovan McNabb. With or without Arnaud, the Cyclones' will still flounder in mediocrity this season.

In a division where half the teams are usually seen in the top half of the polls throughout the season, one loss is something that coaches dreed especially when you have the juggernauts of Oklahoma and Texas in your division. All six of these teams is capable of sticking with any opponent any given Saturday so look out for some upsets. In Norman and Austin, the programs named after their states hold two star quarterbacks nearly guaranteed to be in New York this December for a certain awards presentation. However, these teams have much more talent then just Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford including, for Texas, players such as Jordan Shipley, Adam Ulatoshi, Sergio Kindle and Rodderick Muckleroy and for the Sooners of Oklahoma, DeMarco Murray, Trent Williams, Gerald McCoy and Ryan Reynolds. October 7th in Dallas will be a HUGE game. The other Oklahoma team boasts perhaps the most dynamic offense in the nation led by Zac Robinson, Kendall Hunter and Dez Bryant. Points, points and more points will be flowing in Stillwater. Mike Sherman is trying to rebuild a once proud Texas A&M program now rocked with scandal and mystery. Helping him this year will be quarterback Jerrod Johnson and his plethora of running backs such as Bradley Stephens and Cyrus Gray. Down in Waco, Art Briles takes a second crack at the South competetion led by star quarterback Robert Griffin and hard hitting linebacker Joe Pawelek. Can the Bears take a gigantic leap forward this season? Mike Leach leads the same old spread offense at Texas Tech but this time with the main connection being Taylor Potts to Edward Britton. Sound weird to you?
