Week 4 - Game Report
Detroit Lions (3-1) at Dallas Cowboys (4-0)

Tony Romo may have had 3 picks, but he led his team to his 10th 4th quarter comeback victory
Detroit, MI (AP) - Two undefeated teams clash in Arlington, Texas as the Cowboys look to wrangle up the surprising 3-0 Detroit Lions on a windy day in Arlington. In what always seems to be a good game when these two teams meet, this game looks to be no different as after 60 minutes, someone is walking out of Cowboys Stadium with their first loss.
38 points combined for both teams in the first half had fans around the country thinking it was going to be a college shootout of two explosive offenses. After the first 30 minutes, both teams defenses stepped up in the second half bringing the combined total to 13 points...all for Dallas.
Kicking off the game was a 78 yard touchdown pass from Stafford to the rookie WR Titus Young and later on in that quarter a 75 yard pass to Rashied Davis led to a quick 14-0 lead for Detroit. Both teams proceeded to trade interceptions with Dallas scoring their first touchdown of the game on a 62 yard pass to their exceptional sophomore WR Dez Bryant to bring them within 7 points at the end of the 1st quarter. After a quick 3 and out by the Lions, Dallas struck again, this time on a sensational 52 yard run by the speedster HB Felix Jones who even showed he had some power breaking a 2-man gangtackle and giving a little stutter step at the 5 to make a Lions defender look silly for the touchdown. All tied up 14-14 Dallas early in the 2nd quarter.
Stafford and co retaliated their next drive with a 5 yard slant to the man they call Megatron, Calvin Johnson who brushed off an arm tackled before having nothing but 86 yards of daylight in front of him for a touchdown. 21-14 Lions.
After all those huge plays, both defenses FINALLY settled in as no more points for the remainder of the half. The start of the 2nd half was all small, tough, hard ball where each offense all of a sudden couldn't rack up any big yaradage. Dallas kept pinning the Lions offense deep in their own territory not allowing anything, while the Cowboys offense kept teasing to score touchdowns, but settling for 2 field goals in the 3rd quarter. 24-20 Lions heading into the 4th quarter.
The 4th quarter consisted of more of the same as the 3rd quarter with both offenses struggling to do anything. Tony Romo ended up throwing 2 more interceptions (giving him 3 total on the game), but the Lions offense couldn't capitalize on those opportunities. The Cowboys got the ball on their own 20 after a touchback punt with 3:30 left in the game and drove down to the Lions 19 yard line before facing a 4th & 7 (after a costly false start). Romo said forget the first down, seeing busted coverage in the secondary and with time to throw launched up a 19 yard touchdown pass to WR Kevin Ogletree in the corner of the endzone as the safety got their a little too late, but still put in a good shot, but to no avail as the touchdown stood. 27-24 Dallas, their first lead of the game with only 1:11 remaining.
Stafford and the Lions offense picked up a quick first down, but then a huge 10 yard sack by Jay Ratliff (his 3rd of the game) got them out of rythym enough to force a 4th and 20 after 2 incompletions. Stafford dropped back, and with more pressure threw it to Rashied Davis who caught the ball but was immediately brought down after 17 yards, just 3 yards short of the first down. Cowboys ball.
Romo and the Boys came out in the victory formation as the Dallas Cowboys move on to 4-0 and Detroit drops their first game of the 2011 season going to 3-1. Exciting game for sure with "D" standing for drama in this one.
Special Notes - Starting FS Louis Delmas went down with dislocated ankle midway through 2nd quarter after having a teammate fall on leg/foot awkwardly. Detroit's offensive line continues to struggle giving up 5 sacks in the game. The Lions run game (1st in the league) was also held to only 53 yards.
