Glad to hear high level clean athletes like THE REEM approve of more testing, THE REEM leading the charge to clean up this sport

“I’ll be tested four times in three weeks this month, so after this, there cannot be any more doubts,” Overeem said. “The thing is, I’ve fought in the States before and every time I got tested, I’ve never tested positive. So I don’t where all [the speculation about steroid use] is coming from. I’m too focused on my career, and I don’t really pay attention to these messages.”

He fought once in Nevada before, at PRIDE 33 in Las Vegas on Feb. 24, 2007, and had no problems with testing, though he was a light heavyweight at the time.

“I cannot judge other fighters, though of course sometimes you have your suspicions,” Overeem said. “Do I think testing should be [done] more [frequently]? Yes, I do think it should be done more, but I think it should be applied to all athletes and not just a randomly select few.”

Asked then if that meant he’d support random pre-fight PED testing for all fighters on a card, Overeem said, “That would be the fair thing to do, right? Otherwise, you would have select testing, and that is unfair.”

Overeem finally got around to taking a legitimate urine test, YESTERDAY, after roughly a FULL MONTH of stalling, "accidentally" taking the wrong test, and then stalling AGAIN by taking the correct test with an unapproved doctor (his own personal "sports doctor" lol).

No athlete in any fight sport has ever been granted a license in Nevada after missing the deadline to take a urine test. Ever. Not a single time. Yet Overeem, who missed the deadline by THREE WEEKS, then stalled for another week before finally taking the correct test with an approved (i.e LEGITIMATE) doctor, is granted a conditional license.

If you can't read between the lines and figure out why Nevada is allowing him to fight, well, you're pretty dense.

LOL @ there can't be any more doubts. He stalled a month before taking the proper test, so the test result means nothing. And you would think a guy who has fought in the U.S. before would be familiar with the procedures and know the correct test to take.

Holland doesnt do things like the US, they dont have testing clinics, that's why he is flying to the UK now to give a sample, in Holland it's your personal doctor, blood tests, etc...

He bought the ticket BEFORE the surprise test, had zero time to take in the US, was visiting his sick mom and did the tests he could, now he has time, got his personal life in order and has to take more time away from training to take a test in another country

I hope Overeem can focus on this fight with all this drama around his training

They asked the NSAC if they could either send a rep to the compound, or allow a day or two to get to the closest approved testing center. NSAC instructed them to go to the nearest testing center. They found a hospital and beat the deadline. I think Lesnar ended up taking the test something like 48 hours after being informed, and he passed.

Meanwhile, Overeem contacted no one for like 9 days, then took the wrong test 16 days after that, then took the right test with some hack doctor a week after that, before finally taking the correct test a month later. Here we are on December 14th, and still no test result.

That isn't even the point, the point is Overeem skirted the commission for a month and got away with it. I don't care if they asked him to take an algebra test.

According to a NSAC doctor, it takes 7-10 days to clear the substances they test for out of your system in most cases.

Now go look at the Overeem timeline and tell me that it doesn't look sketchy. And either way, intentional or not, his test is worthless now. It took him 30 days to submit his urine.

I just looked up the details.

The NSAC contacted Brock on a Thursday night. They told the NSAC that they could not reach the testing facility by the end of business Friday, and asked if a commission doctor could be flown to Minnesota to do the test on site at some point during the weekend. The NSAC declined, and instructed them to go to the facility and take the test first thing Monday (the facility does not operate on weekends), which Lesnar did.

So it looks like Brock took the test roughly 80 hours after being contacted. Plus his people were in constant communication with the NSAC the entire time. Overeem was completely off the grid for like 9 days.

In that case it's the same thing since steroids raise your testosterone level. Personally, I don't care if he did skip the test because he had a good reason.

MMA fans and the media need to learn about boundaries and respect. If you're going to accuse someone of using their sick mother as an excuse to skip a drug test, you better make damn sure that's 100% the case or keep your mouth closed. Not talking about anyone here, just saying in general everyone jumped to too many conclusions when they knew his situation so to put those type of accusations out there is unprofessional and heartless.

He had reason to miss the initial test, he then took a blood test as quickly as he could. Case closed, leave it be.
