So did you like In Bruges or did you think it was forced?

In Bruges is the only movie that holds a candle to Fight Club in terms of my favorite.

I meant that the two main characters were forced to be buddies by circumstance; they really did not like each other, but come together in the end to face a common enemy.

I disliked Captain America. Visually was great , costume design , sets everything.
The first half hour before he gets his super soldier serum is great also. But it nosedives after that along with Captain Americas charisma.
This and Iron Man 2 being so mediocre is what killed my ferver for Avengers. But will see it hope its better than those to movies.

The source material is chock full of storytelling potential and the portrayals of these people are incredible. In the beginning, Cronenberg did a really good job of making me feel uncomfortably attracted to Knightley's Sabina Spielrein. David Cronenberg is known for his sci-fi movies and more recently, his violent crime films but there plenty of flashes in the movie where you get a Cronenberg feel. A Dangerous Method substitutes the psychology in Cronenberg's other work for the psychology of psychologists. So meta. A Viggo Mortensen collaboration once again and he plays Freud with some kind of evil charisma oozing off of him, but the movie is Michael Fassbender's, who continues to have phenomenal performance after phenomenal performance. His scenes with Vincent Cassel are so engaging, I wanted so much more from them besides their two or three scenes. This probably not something I would go out of my way to watch again, but it was pretty good.
Spoiler Alert - They all die well after the story takes place. Knightley's Sabina Spielrein is killed by the SS 20 years after the film.

This movie is comparable to the Hangover in one way - they're both overrated. Sure, this movie is pretty funny, but it's not omg funniest movie evaaarrrr. The airplane scene is the only part where I can actually remember laughing pretty hard. Shitting your pants in wedding dresses is pretty disgusting, but that's funny to me. Fat chick raunchy humor can only do so much before it starts disgusting me. Melissa McCarthy was funny, but what the hell did she get nominated for an Oscar for?! Also, fuck Mike & Molly. Jon Hamm is a dreamboat, even when he's a prick. This one got caught up in the hype machine and that hurt it. Maybe if I would have seen it sooner I would have liked it more.

One of the biggest pieces of trash in the history of cinema. Overly CGI, annoying characters, terrible characterization and acting, embarrassing villains, poor directing, I could go on forever, baby! Seriously, Ryan Reynolds - re-evaluate your career choices. Go back to being a sarcastic prick in shitty comedies, THANKS! Martin Campbell, Casino Royale must have been some sort of fluke, because all your movies are trash. Whoever did the CGI in this movie should probably kill themselves, too. Everything look unbelievably fake, even Ryan Reynolds abs. As terrible as the movie is, though, it'll certainly turn into a "so bad it's entertaining" type of drinking game movie a la Tokyo Drift or Goldmember.

I think Bridesmaids been much better if it was actually about the bridesmaids, and not Kristen Wig's problems. I could've sworn from the previews that these girls were gonna go on some sort of trip and give us a full weekend worth of plane scenes. Instead the Bridesmaids are cut off like halfway through, and the rest of the time is spent on Kristen Wig falling in love with a nice guy cop and chasing her dreams or something. Not that it was real funny to begin with but it changed from a comedy to a chick flick and got boring.

Another review I has written out and somehow lost all of it, I'll just be simple with this - It's raunchy, it's smart, it's heartfelt, it's funny and it's got plenty of nostalgia and homage. Frost and Pegg have some of the best chemistry out of any comedy duo around and even though the jokes seem a bit overdone (gay nerds! raunchy alien!), the chemistry between the three leads keeps you invested and allows you to accept some of the easy jokes they go for. Jason Bateman plays a great dumb asshole as the agent searching for Paul. It's refreshing to see him like this instead of playing Michael Bluth all the time. The supporting cast is great as well with Kristen Wiig playing a much funnier character than in Bridesmaids and Bill Hader, Jeffrey Tambor, David Koechner, Joe Lo Truglio and Jane Lynch providing some quick entertainment whenever they are on screen (even if it's not for long).

This movie provides Buzzman with a safe alternative to Viagra and because of that, I avoided this movie. Once a female friend forced me to watch it, gushed throughout each of the Ryan Gosling parts and then proceeded to have sex with me after, I jumped the fence I had been sitting on. It's unlike most rom-coms, even though it still follows the basic formula, but the charisma of the three leads - Gosling, Steve Carell and Emma Stone - is what holds this movie together. Instead of being a basic guy chases girl, consults friends and parents for help rom com, CSL adds layers and complexity not seen in the genre. Carell's wife (Moore) leaves him and their safe, boring marriage after falling for another guy (Bacon). While coping in a bar, he runs into Gosling's character, a ladykiller who takes him under his wing, but winds up finding someone (Emma Stone) and learning more from Carell than previously thought. Meanwhile, Carell's son is in love with the babysitter who is actually obsessed with Carell. These things are not new or original, but they feel fresh. The "twist" can be seen from miles away, by the way, but it does not take away from the hilarious chain of events that follow. Something unheard of in rom-coms that is evident here is how smart and genuine it feels. Romantic comedies are generally paint by numbers with the easiest, dumbest joke being thrown out at every opportunity. Crazy, Stupid, Love never takes the easy way out and the mix between drama and comedy is almost entirely perfect. It seems as though this movie was written by a human being, not a robot. One of the smarter comedies to come out in recent years, Crazy, Stupid, Love has created something that all rom-coms should follow.

Paul Giamatti is one of the most under-appreciated actors of all-time. The man constantly carries fantastic movies without any real recognition. Barney's Version is no different. The movie is a bit sloppy, but it is supposed to mimic real life, so it works. You never really know where the story is going to go, so beyond Giamatti and Dustin Hoffman's performances, there is certainly something to keep you engaged. Giamiatti's Barney is an extremely flawed individual who does the best he can to make things work, but timing has never been his strong suit. Not many people would be able to create a sympathetic character out of the source material, but Giamiatti plays Barney with perfection. Dustin Hoffman portrays his ex-cop, outspoken father with such ease that you wonder where Hoffman has been all these years. To me, as the story progressed and Barney settled down with Minnie Driver's character, it was easy to root for Barney's actions in their relationship. Not only because of the sympathy he had generated throughout the film but because of how much of a terrible and annoying person Minnie Driver was. Everything Barney put her through was well deserved and although his pursuits of someone else seemed delusional, you are rooting for him. I haven't even mentioned the dysfunctional relationship between Barney and his best friend, Boogie, played by Scott Speedman. The two go through an unbelievable amount of terrible things together, including the one part of the movie that will make or break your feelings toward Barney. Even through the life-reflective messy directing, Barney's Version is a great portrayal of what everyone is missing in Paul Giamatti in addition to powerful, albiet overpacked story.

I didn't believe anyone when they told me this movie was good. I love the original Planet of the Apes and just thought the idea of this movie was beyond unnecessary. Thanks to some more impressively strange work by Andy Serkis, this movie exceeded my expectations. James Franco is pretty much in robot mode, mailing this performance in, but it works. It's not Franco's show. The supporting characters work well enough to make up for his bland performance, too. Brian Cox plays the two-faced "villain" with ease, oozing evil with every lie he says. Tom Felton is pretty awesome and plays the character you love to hate perfectly, you are just patiently waiting for him to get what he deserves. Caeser, the ape that Serkis plays, is the star of the show and keeps you entertained. You feel for him and you want him to be free and happy and also stick it to the assholes who wronged him, but you know that will lead to the decline of civilization. Speaking of which, since you know what happens, it's really awesome to see how everything wound up how it did instead of it being stale and boring, the inclusion of Caesar was a brilliant idea and I commend whoever's decision it was to do it like this.

I'm not a Woody Allen fan by any means. As a filmmaker and a writer, I respect everything he's created over his long career. As an actor, I cannot stand him. Seeing as how Woody Allen finally decided to substitute himself for Owen Wilson and the concept and story seemed absolutely brilliant, I was interested in watching this. The story and writing does not disappoint and Owen Wilson is perfect as the Allen stand-in. The movie is absolutely beautiful and even I fell in love with Paris, along with Wilson's Gil. Woody Allen is usually good for at least one movie a year and every five years or so, one of these movies shine. Midnight in Paris is Allen's latest that can fit into the "good" category that most of his latest efforts haven't been able to. The most important aspect of this movie is the fun that each of the characters seem to be having through the actors genuinely seeming to enjoy the roles they are in. Of the famous characters brought to life in this genius film, the most notable are Adrien Brody as Salvador Dali, Corey Stoll shining as Ernest Hemingway and Tom Hiddleston (aka Loki) as F. Scott Fitzgerald. Although every one of these characters seem to be caricatures of themselves, it works. The concept is pretty ridiculous in its own right, so meeting the extremes of each of these characters fits in perfectly with the world Allen has created. Marion Cotillard's accent gives me an erection every time she opens her mouth.

Cool to see Woody Allen make a movie about some of the people he's been making references to for decades. Also, speaking of one movie a year, the next one he has coming up looks like a complete disaster. Sucks, I was getting my hopes up for it since MIP was so good.
