Penn State just got as close to the death penalty as the NCAA will give in this new era of nationally televised football.

This is the equivalent of what happens when a child molester gets tossed into the GenPop...Penn State has just become the prag of college football.

You've basically made Penn State irrelevant for 40 years. The previous 14 + the upcoming 25. They've made Joe Paterno's entire career, pretty much a waste of life.

The vacated wins mean nothing except for passed players (maybe) and Joe Pa (who cares)


10 scholarship players per year? :lol: They can still sign 15 per year, another joke.

Bowl ban for 4 years, that sucks for players but it is one game for the whole season.

So much for "unprecedented penalties" that would of had the Penn State community wishing for the death penalty instead.....

They aren't going to be down 10 scholarships, they're going to be down 20. For the next several years.

The scholarship reductions mean that Penn State's roster will be capped at 65 scholarship players within a couple of seasons. The normal scholarship limit for major college football programs is 85. Playing with 20 less is crippling to a program that tries to compete at the highest level of the sport.

65 scholarship guys, of which will likely be primarily made up of very average at best players because no kid is going to want to play at Penn State for awhile.. in the Big 10 conference. The moment they get their usual injuries, that team is looking like a JV squad at a local Pennsylvania high-school.

4 years is a long time in the world of college athletics.. especially for a school like Penn State. Their program won't fully rebuild probably for a good 8-10 years now. And considering you could argue that this whole scandal had nothing to do with football, that's a pretty big hammer that just got dropped on this program.

The most signifcant development is that Penn State will not receive its share of the Big Ten bowl revenue from 2012-'16 (about $13 million).

When were talking about the sophmores and freshman its the same deal some want to stay because they love their school. Thats the problem, this school isn't USC where anyone would jump in a heart beat.

Do you really care if Penn State plays in the Warner2Bruce LittleCeasars Bowl Classic on December 19th.

This year is the only chance they have for a bowl game. Not next year or 5 years, bowl game doesn't mean anything. Gives kids a chance to stay or leave for themselves.

Even if they got a 2 year bowl ban, with the amount of schollies they lose they won't make a bowl. Only reason USC was able to pull it off cause they went to court for 2 years which allowed them to stockpile players for future.

Pennsylvania as a whole has 8, 4 star players in 2013 who will go to either Pittsburgh or another B10. They will be stuck wit 3-2 star players for a good 10 years.
