There really isn't much more that needs to be discussed.......the school harbored a child molester, those involved are dead and/or are in jail, the school got sanctioned.....and right fully so. BTW, at VSN we can discuss stuff seriously and still have goofy stuff mixed in.......stop being so serious.

MY point is that this thread has reached almost 500 post and with the sanctions being handed out other than the current players, students, fans and alumni having a false sense of comradery the story is about to die. With that the discussion will take a turn. It should be expected.

I don't understand what you want these kids to say or do. Whatever they say is going to be twisted into them just not getting it. Should they just apologize over and over for things they have nothing to do with, walk into each game like "we are just happy to be playing,? I'm not saying I agree with them, but I crrtainly understand where their anger is coming from, as misguided as it may be. In the end we have to remember theseare kids Their emotions are raw. Expecting them to grasp the reality of this when they are being put inthis position in a very public forum isn't very realistic.

I don't have a problem with them having pride in our instition, although wearing t shirts saying we are pissed is not the message that should be put out.

Maybe that's where the coach you have repped in your avatar should step in and help manage the message, no?..and if he sees those shirts...do something about it rather than letting them take pictures in front of a mural or whatever in the football complex.

You're an alumni of the university, so I understand your compassion. Given the fact that you probably believed the image of the coach and the university it has to be tough to accept. Moral of the story is probably that we should never hold anyone in such high esteem. It's cool to look up to and respect people, but do so with the understanding that they are still flawed.
