I apologize, I'm obviously dumber than even Al Davis because he dooped me into actually believing that he has some sort of sanity left.

Now, I wanted Crabtree or even Maclin but I'm not going to cry about DHB. He has the size, strength, and speed to be a great WR in the NFL. You can teach a guy how to run routes and to read defenses, you can't teach a guy to be 6'2" 210, 4.3.

We'll see if the Raiders can develop him into a dominant WR, he has the tools to get there.

I want to say this will never happen at #7 but after hearing this al davis has me worried.

I don't think the Raiders have picked a WR in the first round since Tim Brown in 1989. Combine that with the fact that Michael Lombardi, who worked 8 years as a Raiders personnel guy, has been on the record that Al Davis does not like to pick WR that early, you have to think that if this does happen, Davis has pretty much lost his last ounce of sanity.

I think the Raiders fans know their team better than anyone. I agree with Lahey's post.

Most people believe all the hype and bullshit that Heyward-Bey can't catch.

This is folk lore. Heyward-Bey has hands, as Mike Mayock has said numerous times. Heyward-Beys hands only looked bad in a few films and they were the QB's fault because of poor QB play. Maryland was a running team, in some games they ran more then 80% of the time.

IMO, sure it's a reach to take him over Crabtree. But don't think Heyward-Bey can't be dominant in this league.

Now lets compare him to Troy Williamson (cuz you guys are bound to bring this up). Troy Williamson has a knack for dropping passes. Heyward-bey? Nope.

You know what Heyward-Bey does bad? Route Running and Defensive Recognition. Due to Marylands in ability to utilize their receivers, Heyward-Beys stats haven't been huge. Put Heyward-Bey in Texas Techs offense and he breaks at least 1k every season he starts.
