the perceived mistakes that the vterans make is usually based on myopic hardcore fans of a team who are upset that their team didnt get the call towards the end of a close game. People are human and make mistakes. But these untrained refs are making games kaos from first qtr to fourth.

Am I crazy or are people in this thread actually calling for more flags to be thrown ?

These refs have had virtually no time for cohesion and obviously haven't had enough weekly meetings that go over procedures and calls. But LOL for you guys thinking the real refs are really any different. I see just as many doo doo calls as Ive seen in any other year. I actually see less random calls down field than I have in many years. I see line play being called as evenly as I have in a long time. If youre actually sitting there wondering why a flag wasnt thrown keep that in mind when the refs come back and youre on here bitching about how your team got a bad call. Considering the auto status of reviews and the existence of red flags everyone needs to STFU on the sidelines because those fucktards are going to bitch no matter who the referees are.

At the end of the day I feel no differently than I did any other sunday in previous years. Only difference are coaches and players being straight up idiots trying to intimidate the refs than talking out of the other side of there mouth by wanting the real ones back.After a game you want "fairness"...but during a game you want to manipulate as much as possible ??...gee what else is new.


Some objective numbers.

FLAG FREQUENCY

In the past two weeks, 470 penalties were called—that's a difference of 11 penalties from the same span last season. That's not the only consistency. Common penalties like delay of game, illegal block, offside and roughing the passer were nearly identical to their 2011 numbers, according to Stats LLC. There hasn't been much of a home-field bias, either. In 2011, 44.5% of penalties through two weeks were called on the home team. That number rose to just 45.1% this season.

THEY PUNISH…

Defensive backs. Fifty pass interference calls were made through two weeks this year. That's up 28% from last season. Holding penalties were called 121 times, up from 107 a year ago. Perhaps most startling, they've called 21 personal fouls, up from four last season. Those fouls are general misbehavior penalties and don't include infractions like roughing the passer or unnecessary roughness.
THEY IGNORE…

Procedural penalties. Illegal shift (2011: 6, 2012: 0) and illegal player downfield (2011: 7, 2012: 1) seem to have been overlooked by the officials. Illegal use of the hands is down from eight last year to four this season.

I enjoy the NFL just fine. There are things about it I dont like. Didnt realize you had to like everything about a sport to be considered a fan.

The fact he used to watch shortcuts should tell you how much he watches. Shortcuts was one of those cute things on paper that next to nobody watches with an consistency.

IIRC Refs cant even be fired and face next to no repercussions for poor performance. 90+% have full time jobs doing other shit.
Fuck them. Cut em loose and start over.
Hire some of the replacements , change the standards , and get a new group of full time officials.
