Indiana Hires New Coach, Fires Bill Lynch

Bloomington, Indiana - In a surprise move yesterday evening, the Indiana Hoosiers announced that former head coach Bill Lynch had been fired, and that a new head coach had already been selected.

Anthony Thompson, who was a star at Indiana in the late 80's, happily accepted the coaching position when offered. "I figured this was my last shot to try and make Indiana into a winning football program," he said at a post-announcement press conference this morning, "and I figured, 'Why turn this down? I have the opportunity to do something special again at IU, and I want that opportunity.' "

Coach Thompson has had no prior coaching experience, but still thinks he'll do well in his first season. "I mean, we can't get any worse, can we?" he said. He added later that that came out wrong, and he didn't mean to imply that IU sucks.

The first thing he is going to do as a coach is remove all the players with bad attitudes. "If someone back talks me or gives me S*** throughout the season, they're gonna get it," he told us, "and if it happens more than once, their gone, no matter who it is."

Kellen Lewis Kicked of Team

Bloomington, Indiana - Just 2 days after becoming the head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers, Anthony Thompson has already made a key change; he kicked Kellen Lewis off of the football team for breaking undisclosed team rules.

Lewis - who set 16 school records as a quarterback (and was supposed to play wide receiver for the Hoosiers this year) - said he was shocked at the coaches move. "I was the best player on this team! Why the hell did he do that? He can't do f***** s*** without me! How the f*** can you not realize that?" Pretty vulgar if you ask me.

After reading the quote, Thompson replied by saying he was a disgrace to the team, and they'd be better off without him. I hope so, because he was really good. If Indiana doesn't do better than last year (3-9), this could turn out to be the stupidest move in Indiana Football History. And IU has done a lot of stupid stuff in their history.

the 80's, when they actually won 3 or 4 bowl games . o ya, and they won the big 10 in the early 20's. if any mods are out there, please change the title

Indiana Blows Eastern Kentucky out of Bloomington

Bloomington, IN - Indiana absolutely dominated this game. It wasn't even a close match. From the beginning, you could tell that Eastern Kentucky was going to lose. Badly. But no one expected the kind of game that the Hoosiers played today.

The team that showed up today was a motivated team. A team just like the team of 2007. A team just like the teams of the 80s. A team just like the team that won Indiana's only Big 10 Championship. Yeah, they were that good.

From the opening kickoff, you could see that they wanted to win. They came ready to play. From the moment that they marched on to the field, you could see that they wanted to kill every single one of the EKU's players. Everyone single one. And it showed on the first play of the game, as 2 sacks and a deflected pass forced Eastern Kentucky to punt the ball. And from there, the game turned ugly. On the first play from scrimmage, Ben Chappell hooked up with Ray Fisher for a 42 yard touchdown pass. Then, on the 2nd play of Eastern Kentucky's possesion, Will Patterson picked off a pass and took it to the house. 14-0.

Said Coach Thompson after the game, "At that point, I was doing everything I could not to put up 100 points on these guys. Every single run, pass, and QB Draw was going for 15-20 yards. We couldn't be stopped." Replied the EKU coach, "We suck ass, all right? Who gives a s***! We only played this game for the money. Cuz ya know, we get payed to play in games like this. And in this economy, any money is good money."

Indiana faces a tougher opponent next week in Western Michigan. Let's hope we can put on the same performance that we had today.
