I know Ware was hurt but he looked completely lost against that read option shit. Thats bad coaching.

I thought it was mostly with the injury. Looked timid at all times, not just during those option plays. In either case, with the injuries he had he should've been sitting, but that's just me.

I don't blame Ryan for this one. He pieced together a defense after injuries happened, which they do. Ravens had the same thing happen this year. I don't think the defenses performance down the stretch was anything to fire the guy over. I do think he's slightly overrated as a head coach, but he should not have been fired.

Ware was absolutely awful and I agree he should have been taken out but did you see the defense we were fielding and who was out?

Lee, Carter, Scandrick, Ware, Brent, Brown, Ratliff. 6 of those guys were out and Ware should have been. We had guys picked up off the street starting on our defense for a lot of the season.

It was a change for the sake of making a change. It probably wasn't the right call, but Dallas needed to change something to stick to the point that everyone is accountable. Dallas' offense wasn't going to change because Garrett is in charge of that and he's sticking around. So it had to be the defensive side, even if the defense over-performed this year.

My thoughts exactly. Jerrah had to fire somebody to appease the fans and it wasn't going to be Garrett once he realized Sean Payton was off of the market. The problem is that the firing highlights exactly what is wrong with the Cowboys organization....the front office and Jerrah himself are the biggest obstacles to success in Dallas. The roster is loaded with talent and Ryan was way down the list of things that needed to change in Dallas. If anything, I saw a Dallas defense that was night and day difference vs. last year's squad even with the injuries.

I've never been impressed with Rob Ryan. My feeling is that if he had a history of being a good coordinator, I think Jerry probably looks at the injuries and keeps him around. As it is, his history, other than 2006, is not very good. It does seem like this is more of a firing to try and appease the fan base/take pressure off of Garrett and Romo.

Scapegoated just like Castillo and Washburn were in Philly. The worse part about this, is that the Cowboys are likely see by many as a sinking ship. Garrett was thought to possibly be gone this season, and if there is a repeat of this season next year, that's almost a certainty. Most coaches are going to avoid this DC position, because they most likely will be back on the market in a year looking for a job. It's not an enticing position, and firing someone who didn't do a bad job despite injuries wasn't the smartest decision.

In week 4 Romo threw 5 interceptions, 2 of them were returned for touchdowns. Again, the Dallas defense allowed 20 points and had to try and overcome the offense's ineptitude.

Its not all the defenses fault but the numbers Ryan put up defensively were on par with what he's done his entire career..

Now they're looking at one of the greatest DCs of all time and a guy who was screwed over a lot more by his QBs in Arizona in Horton than Ryan was in Dallas and managed to put up better numbers still.

Ryan wasn't the reason for all the Cowboys woes but if they found an upgrade I don't know how you as a fan can be upset about it.

FFS why are you defending the guy? we all know its not all on the defense. we all know ST and offense contributes to the team failing. but your defense sucked. simple as that. and in this day and age when a part or all of your team sucks, the coach gets fired.
