Rubio is definitely in his rights to stay in Spain.. but he never should've said he wants to play for free, entered the draft, fully knowing he was going to be a top draft pick, and then use his right to stay in Spain. THAT is what is making this such a bitch move.

They did not have to pick rubio, HIll could have been drafted instead or even stephen curry yet they decided to gamble and Rubio has the choice, either he's going to get screwed over or the timberwolves were, and he just made the choice 99% of people would have and to protect what's in his best interest.

A report on Marca on Thursday night quoted Ricky Rubio's father as saying he will likely remain in Spain instead of joining the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kevin Love sent out a Twitter post on Friday indicating that Rubio indeed would remain in Spain.

"Rubio to stay in Spain according to his father," writes Love.

Again, there is zero reason why he wouldnt play in Minnesota. They arent going to invest in him this high, be a rebuilding team, and not let him see the floor, IF he would report to the damn team. China has 1 billion people, Spain has a population of 40 million. Are you seriously comparing the two?

Look at Al Jefferson, one of the top young players in the league. How many big endorsement deals does he have in Minnesota? How about Chris Bosh or Rudi Gay? What do all these guys have in common? SMALL MARKETS!

You can be a great, young player, but not get a big endorsement simply because no one will see you in Minnesota.
