I thanked him for his overall post describing the setting SJax has been under while he's been in STL as well as the reminder of how amazing his 06 season was. Keep replying though because it looks like you've made a friend.

That's the thing tho, its such an uncertain team, going to probably end up 5-0-1 in division and still won't sniff the playoffs. Even next year I don't think anyone looks at that team and thinks Superbowl.

With the 9ers becoming a top NFC team, and the Seahawks emerging its hard for him to justify staying there if he had the chance to play for a Superbowl contender, I could see GB jumping all over him.

Nobody thought either the Hawks or 9ers would be as good as they are 2 seasons ago. Remember the NFC West being the joke of the league? Then the 9ers come out of no where and do a complete 180 and make a CC run. Not saying it will happen but it can happen for the Rams. They arent getting humiliated week in and week out. Ouside of the Pats game there were no real bad losses on their schedule. As they grow together they will start taking some of those closer games.

I like what Fisher has done.. but it's going to be hard to contend with San Fran and Seattle above them for the foreseeable future. You have to think Arizona will turn it around when they find a QB too.

I can see Jackson staying though - he seems like a really loyal dude. A lot of guys would have demanded a trade dealing with the mess you outlined.

I didn't say he was a lock Hall of Famer. I said he should be a lock Hall of Famer, because there is no question in my mind that he is an all time back. I also said that he will never get in, because I understand how the pro football hall of fame works, and i'll leave that point at that.

Anybody who says "just because he played relativity healthy, consistent football doesnt mean he is a HOFer" is clearly just glancing at a stat sheet and has no understanding of how good of a player he was/is. Adrian Peterson & LT were better. Nobody else was during his era.

Also, I don't think the 49ers & Seahwaks are significantly better than the Rams right now, and the Rams are hardly a finished product like the 49ers and aren't three years into a plan like Seattle. Both of those teams have rosters that the coaches have put their stamp on, while the Rams are still playing with some Spagnuolo scraps.

The 49ers & Seahawks have had three cracks at the Rams and haven't won any of them. Let's not pretend the Rams are light years behind these guys. I don't think it's unreasonable to think the Rams will contend for the division next season.

If i'm starting a team and both men are 21 again, I would take Steven Jackson for a single game, a single season, or an entire career over Curtis Martin without hesitation.

Martin will be a hall of famer, Jackson won't, even though Jackson is the much better player.

For those who weren't paying attention earlier this year; Curtis Martin is already in the Hall of Fame. Emmit, Walter Payton and Barry are the only people to rush more than him...phenomenal career, and he did it in 10 seasons

Without Jackson getting 2 more 1,000 yard seasons on a more high profile team, Jackson doesn't even sniff HofF contention, and deservedly so. Not an all-time great back when you sit down and start listing people off the top of your head who made a significant mark in the NFL......unless you are a Rams homer.

Which is silly, because what he does from this point forward doesn't make him better or worse overall as a player, unless he does something crazy like lead the league in rushing at age 31 or something. That's part of the problem with the Hall of Fame in many sports.

No, Jackson won't get in because he doesn't deserve it. If Jackson deserves it, then Ricky Williams, Ricky Watters, Warrick Dunn, Tiki Barber, Cory Dillon, Jamal Lewis, Eddie George, should be in too (BTW, a couple of them have SB rings too ).

Because subjective observation always helps people win over others opinion on a subject.....Who gives a shit if Jackson is bigger than Martin, can run faster, or has better hands..physically. Martin worked it (and this coming from a rival of both his teams). He did in his first three years half of what Jackson has done in 10. Martin's collection of work is better than Jacksons over his first 8 years. In 10 years (his full career) like Jackson, Martin has 4,000 more yards from scrimmage and almost 40 more TDs. But what the fuck does looking up hard facts mean when you can watch Jackson play on TV right now and say he can do things better than Martin ever could. Being a division rival fan, I watched all of Martin's career, and looking up stats or not, he was a better player than Jackson, even if he wasn't as muscular or as fast.

LOL at high profile team? Are you 12 or something ? the Rams have one of the top 6 to 10 richest histories in football.
