LOL at high profile team? Are you 12 or something ? the Rams have one of the top 6 to 10 richest histories in football.

What he means, is that the Rams have been terrible for Jackson's entire career, and that hurts his chances, and he's right.

My point, is that stuff shouldn't matter, but I understand fully that it does.

f16harm even brings up that Jackson needs two 1,000 yard seasons with a high profile team to get consideration, as if 1,000 yard seasons with the Packers are somehow more valuable than 1,000 yard seasons with the Rams. Why should that matter? But it does, and it's stupid.

He even brought up SB rings, which is the lowest of the low when discussing HOF resumes, so you can see where his head is at.

If Jackson had the exact same career on a winning team, we wouldn't be discussing this. He'd be a no brainer in everybody's mind.

anyone who claims jackson is a no brainer for the hof is clearly a homer who has no real understanding of what it takes to be a HOF player. he certainly did not have a HOF career thus far and is not a no brainer....after all, if he was a no brainer then it wouldnt even be a point of discussion. he had 1 good year and several mediocre years.

fyi, Jackson has more total yards than 20+ HOF running backs. He will pass OJ Simpson in total yards later today. If he plays next year he will most likely pass Simpson, John Riggins, Franco Harris, and Jim Brown, and if he plays two more years he will likely pass all of those guys plus Eric Dickerson, and will have a legit shot at catching Tony Dorsett & Thurman Thomas.

I would argue he has Hall of Fame caliber numbers right now, and if you are stat obsessed his book isnt finished being written.

Since i'm just a Rams homer who has no understanding of what it takes to be a hall of fame player, why don't you look up how many backs have rushed for 1,000+ yards in 8 or more consecutive seasons, to see how small the list is, and what the names are. Then tell me how many of those players are all time greats (hint: all of them), and tell how many played for teams as pathetic as the Rams have been during Jackson's years (hint: none of them).

itt: a couple of people who have no perspective of NFL history, or how good Jackson has been while playing for pathetic teams.

If you want to tell me he's not a Hall of Famer, fine. But you'll have a hard time convincing me it's because of production or his skill level. It has everything to do with his low profile career due to the historically pathetic teams he played for.

If your criteria is playing in big games and winning SB's, you aren't alone, but in my opinion you are using the wrong criteria.

I'd also like you to be completely honest and tell me how many times you watched him play. I have a hard time believing you are sitting in Cleveland watching Rams football. Same for f16harm. He played against the Browns & Dolphins very few times. You guys are breaking down a player you hardly ever (if ever) saw play.
