Controls are perfect and once co-op gets going around here, it'll be even cooler.
 
I'm a little concerned. After not receiving actual codes in my email from THQ I emailed them back and they sent me codes for the Genki Pack and the Season Pass. I entered them and teh Genki Pack worked fine. The Season Pass code said that it was for the SEason Pass and it was being redeemed but when I pressed "OK" to download nothing happened.
 
Saints Row 2 for Free on PS3

With Saints Row: The Third out this week, Sony and THQ had a bit of a problem. After all, Sony's Jack Tretton promised an "over the top" exclusive multiplayer game mode and a "signature weapon" that would be only for PlayStation 3 gamers. Yet, the final product had no such mode or weapon.

But today, THQ revealed that the publisher is ready to make it up to PlayStation 3 gamers.

According to THQ's Jon Miller, "For all players that purchase Saints Row: The Third on PlayStation 3 and redeem their online pass codes within the next 90 days, they will receive a digital copy of Saints Row 2 (a $19.99 value)... absolutely free!"

The offer is for the digital version of Saints Row 2 that came to PSN some time ago, and expires on February 13, 2012

i will get this sometime next year. i knew it was over the top...but after seeing the reviews i see that its just way over the top
 
Everyone got on my case because I was critical of it being THAT over the top. I like the zany fun of the first two but it was still rooting in some amount of reality. This one just seems ridiculous.
 
Theres no difference in graphics right? I wouldnt mind getting SR3 on ps3 just to get SR2 for free and replay it.
 
I didn't already have a copy of SR2, I'd jump on the Free Stuff bandwagon.

While I'm sans Genki suit and gun, the game is still re-goddamn-diculous that it really doesn't need them.

On a side note, what I heard about the Side Missions fucking up the Main Story pissed me the hell off. :rage:

Apparently, if you do any of the side missions (the ones with the blue icons), if they correspond with a Story Mission of the same type...

Ex: When you meet Angel, he'll ask you to do a Trailblazing mission for him.

If you've done one beforehand as a side mission, it'll fuck up the cutscene for the Story Mission and you won't get any context for it.

You'll just do the mission and won't get to see said cutscene unless you have a previous save or replay the game

...then the story missions are effected immensely and you'll be left out of a lot of stuff. :smh:
 
I think I might be good. I checked my downloads in my Live profile and it does say I downloaded the Season Pass.

I just downloaded the Season Pass for Gears and the same thing happened. Super quick download and when I went to download the Horde Command Pack it still said it cost 800 points. I booted Gears up and was immediately prompted to download the Horde Command Pack and it was free. I'm guessing the same thing will happen with this game.

Season Passes are tiny. 156 KB or something like that. It's just an unlock code.

Yeah, I know. It was like 800KB, not MB. But I never saw it download at all which is what threw me off. I already had the initiation station downloading and the Genki Pack downloading. I went to download the SP and it went to the download queue screen but it never went into pending.

But my Xbox shows that I downloaded it already so I should be good. Now if I could jut receive my damn game. It was in NJ early this morning. I'll be lucky to get it tomorrow Not that I would have time to play it. It will probably come Saturday.
