I think Senser highlighted my problem with this whole situation in that the Refs were waiting and staring before deciding.

When I first saw the play I thought it was dual possession because what I saw was DB catching the ball beginning to tuck it in then WR grabbing the ball and tucking it in and landing on his feet first. At the point Tates ass hits the ground the ball is in his stomach and the DBs shoulder in Tates mid section. I had no idea where Tates left arm was I just "assumed" it was around the ball the way he controlled the DB on the way down. Once there the DB rolls over and is clearly in possession of it.
At game speed it looked like the struggle happened in mid air with guys feet not really on the ground yet.

The refs waiting then calling two different results fucked with my head. The ref with TV view called TouchDown the ref with the back angle and the more clear angle called Touchback. Why they waited , why they didnt stop and confer with the head official , and why IR is restricted is what cluster fucked me.
Replay clearly shows the DB controlling the ball and Tates left arm being a non factor and simply grasping for the ball. Tate never had the ball in his chest or tucked in Jennings did.I dont understand how waiting and watching ended up with a TD...that shit is beyond me.

thats questionable as well. Rodgers has a thing about holding the ball pretty long but the officiating is so bad is it not possible that the Seattle rushers are getting away with some bad technique, while the DBs are mauling the receivers ? none of this crap happens if they get the none call right on the bogus "roughing the passer" call

Wasn't there a bogus PI call the Packers got on that extended their TD drive? Or the spot on the ball when Rodgers scrambled on 3rd down in the redzone? They reviewed it, respotted it, and didn't even measure to see if he got it. I know Green Bay got screwed, hard, but the calls went both ways.

I'm sorry, when a team is within one possession at the end of a game, the team opens themselves up for one mistake that could take victory away.

If I was a Packer fan, I'd have more of an issue with the egregious roughing the passer on the Wilson INT, and the "pass interference" by Shields.

Sorry, both defenses played well enough to win the game, while neither team's offense played well enough in one of the half's to win the game. GB offense in the first half, Seattle offense in the second half. GB's offense played more than well enough in the second half to win against a very good defense.

Plus GB had that interception taken away, then one before the end of the game. That took at least 3 or maybe 7 points off the board for GB. GB played just as well as Seattle did. I'm impressed with Seattle. If they can get a passing game going, they can do some real damage this year.

Agreed it was a great defensive struggle. I guess my thing is you open the door to allow one mistake to impact the game if you don't have a 2 possession lead. The Packers rallied and were great in the 2nd half. The Seahawks deserved to lose as well by getting outplayed 43-6 at one point in the 2nd half.

Bad calls went both ways, but GB got it much worse. The PI call that extended GB's drive was questionable, but the Rodgers first down at the goal line was the right call. GB actually had two interceptions taken away on bad calls. The first GB would have had the ball deep in Seattle's territory. Then the PI on Shields was a silly call. Shields did have his hand on the bottom of the receivers shirt and did hold his shirt a little, but he was getting mauled by the receiver. The call should have either been on the receiver or offsetting and down over. Instead it was like a 30+ yard penalty.

I agree, bad calls for both teams, but please try and be a little more accurate.

The shame here isn't just that GB most likely had a game taken away, but it taints the game that the Seahawks played. Everyone will be and is talking about the poor officiating during the game and especially at the end of the game, and that the Seahawks played so well, especially the defense in the first half, is getting overshadowed.

Absolutely on both. Plus the interference in the end zone. But I'm not going to bitch about the officials because they are doing the best they can and are just in over their heads. I'm not bitching about the officials, just things as they are. And like everyone else, I would like the real officials back. Hopefully soon. Game over, time to move on. Seattle Seahawks D needs to be complimented. Russel Wilson needs to be complimented for being a Rookie and staying under control against another good D. It's a shame that circumstances have us talking about the officiating.

Like you said, GB should have played better so that those things didn't effect the outcome of the game, but give Seattles D credit as being a big part of the reason GB didn't.

How much did he get sacked in the second half. How well did GB moved the ball actually playing a physical style of offense the second half. I was actually pleased and surprised by that. It showed me that GB isn't just a finesse team. They can play physical. I been worried about that. Feel better about it now.

Here's the NFL's official statement on the debacle last night. The net-net is that they are saying offensive pass interference should have been called against Tate and that "there was no visual evidence" to overturn the call on the field with regards to the catch.
