I say yes, I love dogs as much as the next guy and I own an 8 year old golden retreiver but does killing dogs really have to do much about football? It ain't like Vick is gonna go out and try and strangle one of his receivers for dropping a ball and if he does there are MUCH bigger players on the field that can stop him.
Leonard Little and Ray Lewis have both had long careers after killing people at the end of the 90s and as much as I love dogs you can't tell me a person's life is less important than a dogs.
Love him or hate him, the dude makes plays and will be a HUGE marketing help for the NFL because of his status and the excitement he brings.
I really think if he gets reinstated back into the NFL he can play another solid 3-4 years and lead a team to the playoffs.

Opinions on this?
 
I'd love to see him make a comeback - though I don't condone what he did in no way shape or form, I do believe in second chances. Give him an opportunity to redeem himself, I think he still has more than a few miles left in his tank. I'd rather take a chance on Vick than a 40 yr old undecided bipolar QB that goes by the name of Favre.

Its stupid he even went to jail as long as he did in the first place. Its lame that in today's society that killing dogs is worse then killing a person.

I'm an owner of a red nose pit bull & believe me pit bulls are one of the most loyal dogs out there - they're very over protective of children & just great pets period, it all depends on the owner & how they choose to raise these dogs.

Needless to say, quit making these ignorant comments.
 
He has been punished by society, but he hasn't been punished by the NFL yet. He put the NFL through the ringer for his stupidity. His team lost sales, the NFL had to defend itself against very public criticism, and overall, he hurt the league and his team tremendously. He should be punished by the league for that.

Give him a year suspension, which is in line with Pacman, and during that time, he can train and get back to top form. At which point, if a team will take him, he is welcome back in the league.

He paid his debt to society.

I love animals as much as anyone, but the guy's life was ruined by this and he's paid enough of a price.

Players with more serious criminal offences have been allowed back on the field.

Absolutely.

He's paid his debt to society. His name is forever ruined. He'll never be the star he once was. He'll never have endorsements. He's paid his punishment 100 times over.

Let him have a shot to get his career/life back on track.. if he screws it up again that's his own doing but as far as this ordeal - he paid his punishment.

I mean, Stallworth got 30 days in jail, so afterward, the NFL should just be fine with him coming back even though the negative attention he brought has hurt the NFL? Of course not!

Vick has had ZERO punishment from the league. None. For him to not get punished under the new player conduct policy would be a mockery.

I think that is because it is ambiguous. If you think he should be allowed back after a suspension from the league, do you vote yes? The only way to vote no would be then if you wanted a lifetime ban. It should be:

Yes, let him back in now
Yes, but only after a suspension
No, ban him from the league

I'm not opposed to him coming back into the league, but I do feel that he needs to be punished by the NFL, jail time aside.

I can live with that, but rarely has a player ever seen such civil punishment before a decision has been made by the NFL.

Did Pacman spend any time in jail?

Stallworth got 15 days or something.

Leonard Little, very little time in jail.


Vick has seen serious consequences for his actions, including bankruptcy.
Another year out of the NFL is just piling it on IMO.
He's at an age where another year out of football could ruin him forever.
