Should Michael Vick be allowed to play in the NFL again?

I hope I'm able to see him play again. It definitely enjoyed watching him.

Yeah I'm not that shocked. I have yet to hear anybody say he shouldn't play again. I think the question is When will he play again?

I think the commish has a few things to consider before he can allow Vick to play.

1. How much has Vick lost? - He couldn't have had the multi-million dollar diet/exercise/medical/treatment he had on the outside. This leads to the next point to consider.

2. Will Vick be able to perform immediately at a level high enough to endorse his prompt return, or should Vick take extra time to prepare? - If Vick returns too soon and looks bad, it could be a big problem not only to his career, but it could also look bad on the league.

3. What will the fallout be if Vick play now? - The commish has to understand this is a fans sport, not a players sport. There will definitely be press coverage all day long about Vicks return, but how much of that will be good or bad? Vicks return should obviously look like the league is taking control, and at least hold Vick to the same tough rules established by Goodell.

4. Is Vick remorseful? - It doesn't really matter to me, to be quite honest. But I think Vicks' return could be much sooner if he comes out with a solid public relations agenda. I think if he hasn't done enough to convince the public (not only NFL fans) the news papers won't be kind, and he will continue to hurt his and the league even if he does play well. With the right P.R. agenda Vick could change public perception from a low down classless guy to a man of integrity who owns up to his actions.


To end this, I think if Vick just sits back and expect to play in the NFL without jumping through hoops; it could take all year before he gets back in the league. He'll definitely get back in someday, but he could be back in the NFL as soon as mid-August I think if Vick can answer these simple questions honestly and convincingly.

I love animals as much as anyone, but the guy's life was ruined by this and he's paid enough of a price.

Players with more serious criminal offences have been allowed back on the field.

He went to jail and lost a $100M contract along with endorsement deals. Most people don't even go to jail at all for dog fighting. I don't condone what he did at all but the government made a big example out of him. It's time for the NFL to let him back in and let him try to rebuild what is left of his life.

I can't cheer for someone who electrocutes dogs, but I can be objective and say he should be reinstated. But hell will freeze over before I cheer for this asshole. He still electrocuted dogs. He doesn't deserve my sympathy or cheers, but everyone deserves a second chance.

He gets the second chance, but if he wants cheers or sympathy, he has to do more with his life than succeed on a football field.

I say yes, I love dogs as much as the next guy and I own an 8 year old golden retreiver but does killing dogs really have to do much about football? It ain't like Vick is gonna go out and try and strangle one of his receivers for dropping a ball and if he does there are MUCH bigger players on the field that can stop him.
Leonard Little and Ray Lewis have both had long careers after killing people at the end of the 90s and as much as I love dogs you can't tell me a person's life is less important than a dogs.
Love him or hate him, the dude makes plays and will be a HUGE marketing help for the NFL because of his status and the excitement he brings.
I really think if he gets reinstated back into the NFL he can play another solid 3-4 years and lead a team to the playoffs.

Ray Lewis never killed anyone. He was never accused of killing someone. He was accused of being the acquaintance and there when someone was killed. He was also found innocent, which means he wasn't guilty; while Vick was found guilty.

I say let him play. I'm not sold that his will play this season though. All depends on the NFL's punishment. It's gonna be a shame if they suspend him a whole extra season. I really don't know how much Vick has left after being away for so long. Another season will hurt him dramatically IMO unless he goes and plays in that new league that is forming or in the CFL. We'll see what happens though, looking forward to see what he can still do on the football field.

I mean, Stallworth got 30 days in jail, so afterward, the NFL should just be fine with him coming back even though the negative attention he brought has hurt the NFL? Of course not!

Vick has had ZERO punishment from the league. None. For him to not get punished under the new player conduct policy would be a mockery.

Vick didnt get the two yeas in prison for just Dogfighting (even though the maximum sentence in Vick's case could of been 5 years). He got the two year sentence for lying to the the federal court which I am pretty sure everyone knows is a big no no. If he came out and said he was associated with it then he probably would of got something similar to what Stallworth got.

As letting him back into the NFL. I say yes, but I think he will still serve a suspension because like someone said he hasnt served the NFL suspension.

Vick's crimes went beyond dog fighting. He was convicted and jailed for running a gambling ring on Dog Fighting. Not just for the dog fighting. You are wrong again,
