Valid reasons have been given go back and read this entire thread.

The problem is there is a handfull of people in this thread who combined have not watched 20 games in their life, telling people who watch 100+ games a year, what is wrong.

If you came in to learn something, it would be different. But you are not. This is just a troll thing and you have 20 pages or whatever to go read to figure out the answer. I really don't care if you agree with the answer. You asked a question, we gave the answer more then once, and that is that. You don't want to take the answer, that isn't my problem.

It's not like we meant it, like in this example, where a team is being outplayed and is provided a spark, no, that would make sense, we definitely meant that without fights, hockey players hate their jobs and don't get into the game without them.

I'm not going to spoonfeed you mongs anymore valid explanations about hockey at this point.

At every juncture in this thread the three confessed non-hockey fans and the few other casual fans have been completely schooled by people who actually watch the game. Credit to NAHSTE and one other guy at least for being able to discuss things aside from just going "NEIN NEIN NEIN" everytime someone who will actually watch a game this regular season hands out a healthy dose of truth.

No there hasnt been. Ive read most of the thread and the only "valid" reason was comparing fighting to a football big hit, which was so stupid i had to jump in.

So tell me more about how fighting affects the players. Does it only fire them up if their teammate wins the fight? Does it have an opposite effect & cause players to play worse if their guy loses the fight?

Fighting "fires" up players. Yet so do speeches and other things...that don't cause brain trauma. So again, fighting is not needed as there are safer alternatives to what it provides in the context of eliminating and legislating things from a player safety standpoint.

TV timeouts and 1 per game, typically reserved for the final 1-2 mins.


Sure because having a 1 on 1 conversation on the bench is going to provide a spark to the team and crowd? Doesn't quite make the same impact.
