Yeah, fuck Tom Brady. He's not as invincible as he seems.
Call me biased, but I still stand firmly behind the fact that Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees are better quarterbacks than he is. I get it, he's won three Super Bowls. That's great, but that shouldn't be the greatest measure of a quarterback because there's so much more that matters.
I find it remarkable that other really great quarterbacks like Rodgers and Rivers get overlooked because they "don't have the ring". Brady's supposed to be the quarterback who gets it done when it matters, yet he was given 11 chances to do so and couldn't beat the Jets who styled on him today.
Brady always gets the free pass because he's got the rings, but the truth is that without the rings, Brady, with some deviance, is consistently hanging around the bottom of the Top 10 QB list each year. But, we always jump to his post-season success to defend/cement his status.
I've always said that and always believed that. Sure, he's done some impressive things like breaking Peyton's 49 TD record and his passes without a INT, but as a quarterback, Brady has never blown me away to consider him the best quarterback in the league or even as the Top 3.
I've gotten pretty tired of people only giving props to quarterbacks when they win in the playoffs. For instance, the Brees bandwagon last year, the Aaron Rodgers one this year... yet, there's fear to do it at the beginning of the year. Why can't anyone just grow a pair?
