It always bothers me a bit when people begin to delineate between SB winning QB's and use reasoning such as "he had a game winning TD drive" versus "he only had to get into position for a FG". Had Montana only needed a FG to win or had Brady needed a TD to win the game this wouldn't even matter. In the end its about making the necessary plays to win the game and both players did that.

Aaron Rodgers not showing up in the playoffs before this year?

He was in the playoffs last season. Yeah, they lost. But the Packers scored 45 points. 45. You're telling me that's not showing up? They lost because the defense fucked it up big time. Sure, he fumbled in overtime. But c'mon. He scored 45 points. The Cardinals scored 51. That's showing up.

I believe his point is that in the end he didn't win anything. Yes, he had a great game, but 20 years from now that won't matter. If the Packers lose this week the game against the Falcons and all of the hype he's recieved because of his play won't me remembered.

If you are looking at it from a purely stat point of view then you take Rodgers. I wasn't. Rodgers hasn't hit his WR in the corner of the endzone as time expired to win a Superbowl or hit his WR down the sideline late in the 4th quarter in a time game in the playoffs to set up the win.

I am looking at more than just stats for this one and right now I'll take Roethlisberger.

Aaron Rodgers never has to deal with that because he's too busy blowing teams out to be in a clutch situation. I'd rather have the quarterback who's going to dominate the game and give me 28 points a game than a quarterback who has to be put in a situation to win.
