How come Curtis Joesph didnt dominate at goal with DET, O I frgot anyone can just get stuck back there. Why did Hasek need to be replaced last year? O I forgot any goalie can come in and just shut down the other team consistently. Osgood makes some of the best saves, but once he lets in 1 its the end of thee world and he sucks. Give me a break

osgoods worst season he was 21-17-6 (pre otl)(NYI then blues).
he is 11 wins short of 400 career wins. 49 career shutouts. 6 30 win seasons ( 1in ny, 1 in st louis)
15 playoff shutouts 3 of which are in the stanley cup finals. only trails Roy, broduer and Joeseph.

i tried digging up a few articles with comments on this but all i could find were articles from 2008 that said he was possible hof'er /borderline adn that was pending him winning the cup last year , on the brink of it this year he is in my mind no doubt.

Joesph was terrible period.
Hasek was old.

I am not saying he isn't a good goalie, he just isn't as good as some want to make him. Some probably want to put him on a Brodeur platform, but he isn't. He'll get into the hall on a weak year most likely.

I think it's asinine that people think Osgood shouldn't get in when his chance comes up.

Setting and coming close to all these milestones in the playoffs, the save percentages and goals against, you've got to be fucking stupid if you think he doesn't deserve to be in.

Yeah it helps to have the best team in the league in front of you helping you out, most of the time only letting 20 shots on a game, but still. There's been countless games that he's single-handedly won the game for us, and not to say that other goalies don't but look who has more Cup rings.

And with how good our youngsters are doing this year in the regular season and playoffs, the whole team will be 10X better than this year, Ericcson, Helm, Abdelkader, all those are going to be on the team next year and produce big time, we'll be back again next year.

Detroit -- There will be no "Joe Vision" broadcast of Tuesday night's Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals because NBC would not rescind its exclusive rights to the telecast.

The game will not be shown at Pittsburgh's outdoor plaza either.

At issue is television ratings, and a large crowd at Joe Louis Arena could be hundreds -- if not thousands -- of television sets not tuned in to NBC.

"It is certainly something we wanted to show but were unable to secure the rights," said Steve Violetta, Senior Vice President of Business Affairs for the Wings.

NBC representative Brian Walker did not immediately return a phone message for comment, but NHL media relations vice president Frank Brown confirmed the situation while expressing sympathy to Red Wings fans.

"We are very much in tune and very sensitive to the great experience that fans have by coming to a great venue and watching a great hockey game," Brown said. "That said we need to be sensitive to the business end of things and that business is ratings driven."

Damnit, I knew they were talking about it but that's absolute crap. There's no way in hell a few thousand people watching at JoeVision and MelonVision (heh heh, see what I did there? turned it into a dirty joke....heh heh) are really going to cost them all that many viewers as far as the Neilsen ratings are concerned. This has thoroughly ruined my plans for tomorrow as I was hoping to go for Game 6 two years in a row. Such an incredibly stupid move by NBC and the NHL. Don't forget though, it's as much on the NHL as NBC because they both blocked the locations from using CBC for the broadcast like JoeVision did during last year's finals.

That is just poor straight up. That hurts NBC's rep more then helps it. The Joe holds what, 15,000 or so. And all those people are within the Michigan area. Mellonvision is the same thing. I could see if this was happening in every place in the NHL, but this is the final two teams. Give them a fucking break. It is two cities of an entire country of people they are trying to target.

Fuck me, I am suppose to go camping on Friday night. This happened last year as well where game 7 would have been on the same day we went camping. Well I got to figure this out, because there is no way I can miss this game.


Scuderi is a machine. That guy is just a sick defencemen.

And yeah, I really wish players had to earn the cup, because if the Wings win, Hossa does not deserve his name on the cup. This guy isn't out for the team, he is out for himself, and only wants the glory for himself.

Towards the end, prolly last 10 minutes of the 3rd, we showed new life, but if it was the whole second, we'd be talking about a different outcome, Fleury really stepped up for your Pens in the last few minutes,

1. I'm about sick of Hossa. Motherfucker doesn't even look like he cares to be there. Here is Hossa's itinerary anytime he touches the puck:

a.) skate
b.) skate into a group of 2 or more players
c.) dump puck towards board closest to me
d.) do nothing else besides skate to the bench

2.) I don't even want to hear Samuellson's "excuse" for that "play" on the wrap around. What the fuck was he doing?

Coming from a hockey fan, and not a pissed penguin, Hossa can die in a fire. The guy makes me sick for the pure fact that he is only out for himself and not for the team. It is why he left Pittsburgh to go play for Detroit. I don't have to much issue with guys wanting to win a Cup, but his way just was terrible. It was one thing to leave Atlanta to go to the Penguins. Another thing to leave the Penguins to go to Detroit. It looks good on him to look like a scrub in these finals.

Yeah, I'll be find some way to watch that game. There is no way I can miss game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals with my team playing in it. If they won the cup I would never let it down. Even if I have to bring a portable TV with me, and use a coat hanger to get CBC, I'll damn well do it.

2 wings mistakes last night cost them. You cant make mistakes in game 6 of the finals, pittsburgh didnt and they won.

If Fleury can make some good saves early, it'll build his confidence, and the Pens will have a chance.
I still hold my breath everytime a Red Wings player shoots at him though.
