He finds it hard to fathom a 20 year old woman buying a gun and using it two days later with such deadly accuracy without having fired it before or zeroing the sights at a range. The 20 year old woman was from the Middle East. Its like natural instinct for them when it comes to shooting Americans.

More Questions Arise Regarding Kazemi's Ex-Boyfriend

In the wake of the shooting death of former Titans and Ravens quarterback Steve McNair, we received from many readers a link to a MySpace page containing comments that apparently were posted before the incident, on July 2, 2009 -- and that seemed to indicate that someone planned to kill McNair and his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi.

The now-deleted account belonged to a person named Jett Jackson, who reportedly is a friend of Kazemi's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Keith Norfleet.

The entry read as follows: "F--k Steve McNair and he will be nobody in '09?" It also said, "R.I.P. Sahel Kazemi."

We previously have ignored the information, primarily because we couldn't reconcile the apparently organized nature of what might be a double murder made to look like a murder-suicide with the clearly disorganized ramblings that had been posted for the world to see.

(It's the same reason we didn't -- and still don't -- give much credence to the report that a woman accosted McNair at a restaurant on Friday night, claimed that he had given her a "roofie" last year, and vowed that her boyfriend would kill McNair. Common sense suggests that anyone with the ability to stage a murder-suicide realizes not to threaten to kill the victim of the murder in a public place.)

Per the Nashville City Paper, Jackson has come forward and spoken with police. Nashville Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said that Jackson posted the statements after learning of the deaths from a handheld device that indicated an incorrect posting date.

But there are other questions about Norfleet. Though he has been interviewed extensively by police and he supposedly isn't considered to be a suspect, he reportedly was with Kazemi in the hours after her Thursday night DUI arrest -- and Norfleet possibly was with her when she bought the gun that was found at the scene.

Meanwhile, a rap song created earlier this year by Norfleet has emerged. Titled "Closed Casket," it contains lyrics that at a minimum make us suspicious of the man who isn't a suspect.

That said, police repeatedly have said that Norfleet isn't considered a suspect.

Meanwhile, something about all of this continues to stink to us.

UPDATE: TacoBill has found Norfleet's YouTube page. TacoBill also thinks that police aren't regarding Norfleet as a suspect because he seems to be way too stupid and incompetent to make a double homicide look like a murder-suicide. We tend to agree.

Press conference with Metro Police Cheif Serpas just ended. Case is pretty much over barring any new leads, they say she shot McNair then sat on the couch beside him shot herself and then she fell to the floor. Gunshot residue was clearly evident on both of her hands.

Sahel Kazemi ended a life that was coming undone, as she got in trouble with the law, faced mounting bills and saw a new relationship with former Titans quarterback Steve McNair unraveling.

Police believe that's why she killed McNair with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol while he slept, then turned the gun on herself in the early morning hours of July 4.

Investigators have ruled out the possibility that anyone else fired the fatal shots.

"We can't put ourselves in the minds of people who do these terrible, irrational acts, but there is evidence she was spinning out of control," Metro police Chief Ronal Serpas said.

Kazemi, a Dave & Buster's waitress at Opry Mills, wasn't sure how to pay the bills for her upscale Hermitage apartment and new SUV. She was arrested for DUI on July 2 with her famous boyfriend in the passenger seat. And, she suspected McNair, who was married, was involved in a second affair. Kazemi had told friends and relatives that she and McNair were going to be together because he was divorcing his wife.

Police say she had recently spotted a woman leaving McNair's condo and followed the unidentified woman to her home, but she never confronted her. Police said they do not know if McNair was involved in yet another relationship outside of his marriage.

They believe he spent Friday night barhopping before going to his condo, where Kazemi was waiting.

Sometime after 1 a.m. Saturday morning, McNair was sitting on the sofa, asleep, when the 20-year-old shot him in the left side of the head with the gun she bought Thursday night, police said. She shot him twice more in the chest, then put the gun close to his right temple for the last shot.

She sat down on the couch next to him and fired a single bullet into her own right temple.

She collapsed in McNair's lap, as investigators believe she planned, before falling to the floor on top of the pistol.

Preliminary tests of crime-scene evidence showed that all five of the bullets fired in the condo matched the gun that was found under her body. Kazemi had gunshot residue on her left hand; her right hand had too much blood to be tested for it. McNair had none.

The case is not closed and won't be until the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation finishes its analysis of evidence collected at the crime scene.

Police are awaiting toxicology reports on both victims. And though many questions remain, police and legions of devoted football fans now know without question who killed McNair.

McNair, 36, leaves behind wife Mechelle, four sons, and a storied career as the Tennessee Titans favorite quarterback and the only one to guide the team to a Super Bowl. Kazemi, a young woman who liked to party and dreamed of being famous, also has left a complicated legacy.

"She, to us, was still a little kid and probably couldn't handle the pressure," said Farzin Abdi, her nephew. "She was only 20 years old, he cheated on her and on his wife, too. He was an … .''

Kazemi's family had no inkling of the bills and there were no signs she was depressed, Abdi said.

"We never knew about financial troubles,'' he said. "If she would have told us this and was depressed, I would've gone to help her and force her to come back if I had to. She didn't know any better that she could leave everything behind.''
Problems mounting

Kazemi was showing signs of falling apart, police learned from her friends and co-workers.

On Thursday, several hours after her DUI arrest, she was in the parking lot in the middle of her shift at Dave & Buster's buying a gun. She got it for $100 from a man she tried to sell her Kia to unsuccessfully. She still had payments on the Kia but didn't need the car because McNair had helped her buy a Cadillac Escalade, registered in both their names.

Kazemi told friends it was a birthday gift, but police said they believe she was making the payments.

It was in the Escalade that police stopped Kazemi in the early hours of July 2 on Broadway.

McNair and another person police have not identified were in the car too. Kazemi told police she had smoked from a hookah (water pipe) earlier in the night and had a buzz but that she wasn't drunk.

Still, the officer noted a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. She was taken to jail, while McNair and his friend were allowed to take a cab home. McNair later bailed Kazemi out of jail.

Police said they don't know what Kazemi's state of mind was at 5 p.m. the night when she purchased the gun. She spent so long in the parking lot, the restaurant's managers told her to clock out for the night.

An ad was posted July 2 on Craigslist, where Kazemi was trying to sell her living room and kitchen furniture. She told family she was preparing to move in with McNair, but the ad was posted about the same time police believe she was purchasing the gun.

Kazemi, who was known as Jenny to friends, left work early again on Friday night. She told someone that night that her life was a ball of (expletive), and "I should just end it."

She went home, then to McNair's condo at 105 Lea Ave.

McNair, who was still very active in local charity work after retiring from the Baltimore Ravens in 2008, was working on a state government public service announcement for Tennessee, warning against the dangers of suicide.

The bodies were discovered Saturday afternoon.

A friend who rented the condo with McNair — Wayne Neely — had gotten to the condo around 1 p.m. but did not call police. Instead, he called McNair's best friend, Robert Gaddy.

Police said Neely was truthful when he said he didn't realize instantly that McNair and Kazemi were dead. Serpas said it's not unusual for people in crisis situations to lose a sense of time, and he may not have realized so much time had passed. Police were not called for at least 40 minutes.

Gaddy said Neely panicked and didn't know what to do.

Neely admitted to touching one of the shell casings but said he otherwise didn't disturb the crime scene. Police said there were no signs of drugs at the scene.

When Gaddy walked into the condo, he saw McNair, his friend of 20 years, and immediately made a frantic 911 call to police. But Gaddy never told the 911 operator McNair was one of the victims.

"Somebody has been shot," he told the dispatcher. "… I hate that I have to be the one to make this call, it's so messed up."
Difficult childhood

By all accounts Kazemi had a difficult childhood. She was raised in Iran, but she left at the age of 9 after her mother was killed. She was raised by a sister in Florida, but she left there at 16 to move to Nashville with Keith Norfleet.

Norfleet had been her boyfriend of four years when they broke up early this year. For days, he received hate mail and angry e-mails from people who believed he was behind the shooting deaths.

Norfleet has written and recorded some rap songs that were available on the Internet, and one particularly eerie song described putting bullets in the heads of a cheating couple.

His sister, Crystal Norfleet, explained that the song was about a situation in which someone was unfaithful to her and that it was written earlier this year.

Her brother was getting his emotions out on paper, she said, and that's where they stayed. Keith Norfleet said in an interview Saturday that he still wanted to be with Kazemi, and thought her relationship with McNair was dangerous territory.

"I was trying to tell her over and over, if he's cheating on his wife, you're obviously not the only one," Keith Norfleet said.

He said they'd been talking more in recent weeks and discussed getting back together. He texted her Friday night, saying he wanted to take her on a vacation so they could work it out. He hoped maybe she would move back in with him.

Crystal Norfleet said that she had been close with Kazemi, since the young couple lived with her briefly in Florida before moving to Nashville. When the two broke up, Kazemi was enjoying single life and dating before she got serious with McNair.

"She was a vibrant young lady," Crystal Norfleet said. "She was human, and she had her ups and downs. With this whole affair with Steve, obviously she didn't always make the right choices."

She expected Kazemi might have been star struck by McNair.

"What 20-year-old with little life experience wouldn't be captivated by that?" she said.

Mechelle McNair has not spoken publicly about the murder-suicide. There is no record of the couple filing for divorce.

This story has been amended from a previous version to add that Kazemi had too much blood on her right hand for it to be tested for gunshot residue.
