Your argument works when splitting hairs between guys on equal levels, but when you're discussing a role player versus an all-time great it doesn't work.

If we replace, say, Kevin Faulk with LaDainian Tomlinson, do the Patriots still win three Super Bowls? I would say yes.

If we replace Donnie Edwards with Tedy Bruschi, do the Chargers then win three Super Bowls? No. And they would probably be worse with Bruschi.

Are we even talking about Bruschi if he played for the Chargers? No

I guess we are at the point where we are maiking fantasy trades. Thats fine, then this is the point where I raise the white flag and admit defeat. All I ask for is an FT groan bomb and a He-man gif from Senser. Well played sirs...

I'm happy to let this drop, but I have to say that YOU were the one who started the fantasy trade stuff when you complained that Tomlinson had "more than enough" help in SD to win Super Bowl titles. So my point was that if Bruschi was so much more individually successful than Tomlinson, then its a fair question on my part to ask if Bruschi would have won 3 titles in SD while Tomlinson would have been shut out in NE. You were the one who was dealing with hypotheticals, not me. I was just looking at their accomplishments and concluded that LT was more successful.

you hear that there isn't a feeling in the world like winning the superbowl.. that's assuming that the other 52 guys are playing at their highest levels and y'all are collectively winning. No matter if Tom Brady throws a good game, the defense, receivers, etc.. all contribute (see 2012 Superbowl). I'm not a Pats fan but I understand that no one man can win it all by himself. Really it's mainly QB's with the added pressure, for everyone else greatness is measured by probowls. It sucks that the media decides who goes to Canton, but once they make it, it doesn't matter how many rings you have. Most of us in the forum are exAthletes and we know the feeling of winning. We also know it falls on other members of the team, coaching, all that.

That's probably why in basketball it's so important for them to get a championship because 1 player can be the greatest change in a game.

You can sell much more as a Hall of Famer. You jacket from the induction speech, your autogragh (which will be worth more), you can make paid public appearances while being introduced as a Hall of Famer.... You aren't looking at the big picture.
