Anyway, the first Spiderman was good. I felt the 2nd was wildly overrated (who needs a 45 minute scene of Spidey stopping a train?) and the 3rd one, well.....

As for the reboot, I saw a rumor that they wanted Joseph Gordon-Levitt for Parker, but at 28 he might be way too old to play a high school version. But with Marc Webb signed on, and Hollywood's penchant for reusing formulas, I wouldn't be surprised if they said "We love what you guys did before, do that again, but do it all supery"

Except Batman 3 will be directed by Christopher Nolan, and WB is smart enough to let Nolan do his own thing and not get involved.

Having said that, I'm tempering my expectations as well.....before you jump down my throat, Nolan is my favorite director. I'm sure he won't do it if he's not confident it will be good, but with the way the last movie was, it seemed to be setting up a final act between Batman and the Joker for part 3. The speech Ledger gives while hanging upside down is what I mean. He says something like "we're destined to do this forever, you and me."

Without Ledger, and without Two Face/Harvey Dent, I don't see what can be done in the third one other than include some characters I don't want to see again, such as Bat Girl,Robin, or even Penguin/Riddler.

But you may know more than me about where they're going with this. I'm just basing this off how the last movie left off, it seems like without Ledger back there's just no point in continuing the story. That movie was Batman v. Joker. It alludes strongly in the script to an upcoming Batman v. Joker II, which we'll now never see.

Where else can Nolan go with it?

I will say this, who wanted to see Rhas Ah Gul as a villian? I know I didnt, but ti worked out so even if its someone you dont want to see, doesnt mean it cant be good. Most poeple dont like Vulture but i think it woulda worked for Spiderman 4.

But in the end, anything with batman 3 will be a dissappointment. Nothing can ever top The Dark Knight.
