I can't deny anything really because I'm a casual boxing fan and don't know much about boxing's rankings. I know about Mosely, Cotto, Pac-Man and have bought PPVs to watch them fight at one point or another, but my boxing world pretty much begins and ends with the following fighters: Floyd Mayweather, Makunochi Ippo, Andre Ward, Yuriorkis Gamboa, and Cory Spinks (and to a lesser extent Michael Katsidis). If any of those guys are fighting, I'm backing them 100% regardless of the situation at hand.

PBF = dat nukka until proven otherwise. Whether it be Mosely, Cotto or Pac-Man, I take him 10/10.

Not really. You're very informative and help shed light on shit I otherwise would never know about. If anything, you should talk to me more.

Throwing away my bias and thinking practically, I do think Floyd should be fighting guys his size and if he has been ducking fighters out of fear of losing the zero then shame on him.

Can any of you expand on the history of Floyd ducking top fighters? From what I've read Mosley had a toothache the last time they tried to get a fight figured out. So I don't think it's fair for people to say PBF is ducking him if that's the case. I don't know the circumstances with the other guys.

Mayweather supposedly wanted to fight Shane Mosley after his rematch with Vargas in 06. Anyone who knows boxing and isnt a Mayweather groupie would realize that that fight would never happen. I had this debate over at another forum several times so Ill just paste my response from there.

Sigh..... Ill post this once again for these dudes who really think Floyd was trying to fight Mosley in 06.

Floyd supposedly called him out and wanted the fight in November after Shanes 2nd fight with Vargas.

1. Shane had 3 fights in the past 10 months. Did you really expect him to jump back in the ring 4 months later? If fighters were fighting like they were in th 50's and 60's Id understand but be rational.

2. You do remember Mayweather had a megafight in the works with someone Mosley works for. Now ask yourself, as Mosleys boss, would you allow for Shane to fight this man and possibly beat him and phuck up the mega payday he had? If he goes into that fight and looks anything less than phenomenal or get his ass beat by Mosley the fight is off or, at the very least, loses millions of dollars in revenue.

That said Mayweather was just flapping his gums when he knew Mosley was gonna be the good company man. DLH signs the checks and he knows that. Anyone trying to imply that Shane was ducking Mosley based on the that interview and the facts I just gave needs to really get off Floyds nutts and check Shanes resume.

3. We are in the here and now. Shane Mosley called him out to his face so all that other BS we are talking about is the past. Lets see what he does.

Also, on a side note. Mayweather said he fought Marquez because "he called me out". Well 2 legit welters called him out to his face and he has/is ducked/ducking them both. Margarito went to Mayweather and asked for a fight to his face. they had 8 million on the table and he didnt want it.

He lied to Margarito and said he will fight him after the a fight with DLH but never intended to step into the ring with Tony. He is doing the same thing to Shane but this time he is not coming out of his mouth and saying he will fight him because he isnt as low key as he was then and knows he will be held to it.

If Cotto and Pacmans fight lives up to the hype Arum will have them rematch. They are already pushing a rematch and the fight hasnt even occured yet. If that happens Floyd will have to fight Mosley or be ridiculed for ducking the best. I think he will fight someone like Andre Berto if he doesnt get the Pacman Cotto winner. He really doesnt want it with Shane.

Shane humbled his ass. I never seen Floyd this subdued in an interview. :happy:

well went down exactly like i figured, Arreola looks to me to be the best of the Rest, but just not in the same class as the Klitschkos. Still great heart didn't quit, kept coming taking shots, but Vitali is just too smart a boxer, I think that Arreola maybe be better suited to fight Wlad(if you believe that his chin is suspect) but still there isn't a heavyweight out there right now who has a chance against either Klitschko

Former welterweight titleholders Joshua Clottey and Carlos Quintana both have their eyes on major fights, so they've agreed to go through each other to try to get there.



Clottey and Quintana have agreed to meet Dec. 5 in a scheduled 10-round fight at a maximum contract weight of 149 pounds at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., representatives for both sides told ESPN.com on Monday.



The fight will open the HBO broadcast headlined by middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik's much-anticipated defense against Paul Williams.



"The winner probably will be in line for a nice payday and a much bigger fight," said Carl Moretti of Top Rank, which promotes Clottey.



Clottey (35-3, 20 KOs), a 32-year-old from Ghana living in New York, is coming off a split decision loss to welterweight titlist Miguel Cotto on June 13, a fight many believed Clottey won.



Clottey had won a vacant 147-pound title in August 2008 when he claimed a nine-round technical decision against former undisputed champ Zab Judah. However, Clottey never defended his title, instead relinquishing it in order to facilitate the major fight with Cotto.



"I think it's a great fight for us. Quintana is a good name for Josh to fight," manager Vinny Scolpino said. "It sets him up for a bigger fight maybe in February or March. Hopefully, Josh will come off this fight with a win and get a big fight. This will definitely be a good, good fight."



Quintana (26-2, 20 KOs), 32, of Puerto Rico, won a title in February 2008 when he won a unanimous decision to hand Williams his only career defeat. However, Williams knocked out Quintana in the first round to regain the belt in the immediate rematch four months later.



Quintana rebounded with a fourth-round knockout of journeyman Joshua Onyango in October, but hasn't fought yet this year.



Like Clottey, Quintana also has a loss to Cotto, although a far more lopsided one. Cotto dominated Quintana en route to a fifth-round knockout when they met for a vacant title in 2005 at Boardwalk Hall.



Lou DiBella, Quintana's promoter, announced an Oct. 24 card last week in Puerto Rico, which was supposed to feature Quintana and fellow former titlist Kermit Cintron in separate bouts. However, DiBella said with the Clottey fight coming together, Quintana was off the card.



"Carlos has accepted the fight with Clottey and the contracts are being sent out. It's a good, tough fight between two tough fighters," said DiBella, who used to promote Clottey. "I think it's a very competitive fight with an interesting contrast of styles. Quintana is a skilled boxer. Clottey is a guy nobody knocks out that is extremely strong and durable. It's a tough fight between guys who are both among the best welterweights in the world."



Clottey's camp and HBO had hoped to match him with Cintron, but Cintron elected to remain on the Oct. 24 card and face Juliano Ramos. Another option for Clottey was former junior welterweight titlist Kendall Holt. But he declined because he has other options and didn't want to move up in weight.



Clottey had originally agreed to a Dec. 26 fight with welterweight champ Shane Mosley, but the fight was scrapped when HBO changed its mind about going with a fight telecast the day after Christmas. To make up for the about face, HBO agreed to put Clottey in the televised Pavlik-Williams co-feature.



Quintana is a left-hander, but Scolpino said he is not concerned about that.



"Josh handles southpaws very well. It doesn't bother him. He just does what he has to do in the ring," said Scolpino, pointing out that Clottey owns wins against lefties such as Judah and Shamone Alvarez.



As for Quintana's chances?



"It depends which Quintana shows up," Moretti said. "If he shows up ready, it's a difficult fight for Clottey. If he doesn't, Clottey is a handful for anybody and he has shown he can handle southpaws."



should be a really good fight, but i expect Clottey to win...

I cant wait to see King Aurthur brutalize Taylor. Gonna be like every other Taylor fight. Start fast, hit a wall and crash hard late in the later rounds. If Abraham was a fast starter he would probably be gone in the 1st half of the fight.

i do think Taylor will make hte fight interesting early.... but as the fight progresses i expect Abraham to start to dominate........

the best first fight of the classic............. Ward vs Kessler...... i am curious to if Kessler is as good as everyone seemed....... and Ward's ability to switch styles and his speed could really pose a problem for Kessler...... Calzaghe's speed gave Kessler issues.......

well you know I am high on Kessler, i think the only thing that bothers me is he hasn't handled the loss to Calzaghe well, and while his Speed gave him fits, I think it was more of Calzaghe's ability to adapt during the fight that really beat Kessler.

Yeah I would be extremely shocked if the Taylor fight doesn't go do the way you guys have said, that or i will really have to start to doubt Abraham
