The Boxing Thread (Sweet Science) - Mayweather vs. Maidana

Need some advice boxing heads.. in the YURIOLKIS GAMBOA VS WHYBER GARCIA fight tomorrow.. the betting has the O/U in total rounds @ 5.5. O 5.5 rounds is +225, which seems like RIDICULOUS value. Is Gamboa THAT much better then Garcia that Garcia cant even last till the 6th round?? Just seems crazy to have those kind of odds.

Similar for the Lopez/Mtgawa fight.. O 7.5 rounds is +200. Dude cant even last till the 8th round with Lopez?? Ridiculous value man. Ive noticed this before in boxing odds too and have cashed.. I cashed good odds on the total rounds of the Klitscho fight just a few weeks ago.

Gamboa can be a flat out destroyer if he oppoennts defense isnt up to snuff, i dont know enough about
Garcia to really know if he is a quality opponent...... but if he isnt, dont expect it to go very long...

the best first fight of the classic............. Ward vs Kessler...... i am curious to if Kessler is as good as everyone seemed....... and Ward's ability to switch styles and his speed could really pose a problem for Kessler...... Calzaghe's speed gave Kessler issues.......

Although Calslappy won that fight it was mad close. He gave him all that he can handle. That said Calzaghe has the experience to deal with that straight ahead style Kess has. Although Ward dominated Miranda who comes forward all night he doesnt possess the technical skill Kessler does.

Both of these fights are showcase fights. They will win and win big. If you play the odds chances are they both will stop their opponents. Both have exceptional KO ratios and both are expected to score knock outs.

Id put money down on the Gamboa fight if I were you but be weary of Juan Ma. The last 2 game opponents he had a hard time getting out of there. If I remember correctly the only reason he scored a stoppage in his last fight is because the fight was stopped by his corner between rounds. In his fight with Penelosa he was just a tough ass SOB who wouldnt go away even though he was dominated.

That said you are taking a huge risk if you take the over with Gamboa and with Juanma to a lesser degree but I just say that based on Juanmas last 2 fights. They both are capable of getting their opponents out there early.
 
Nah I didnt even bet it.. had such a bad day in CFB that I was turned off. When did the fight end? It didnt make it to the 6th?
 
the more i look at these fights, i think Dirrell might beat Froch.... but i still think Abraham is gonna beat Taylor late..... but i am really leaning to Dirrell over Froch....
 
King King Agbeko vs Yohnny Perez tonite on Showtime....... shoul dbe a decent fight....

sidenote: almost forgot....... Tim Bradley vs. Lamont Peterson on Dec 12 Showtime... shoul dbe a real good fight..... both like to bang and have good defense... should be intersting..

yeah Perez really cam eto fight and King Kong always battles..... great great two way action pretty much the entire fight.... I thought Perez really began to wear down as the fight stretched on..... but he battled threw it and won the fight.....
 
i thought the scores in the Perez fight were a little too far apart, I had Perez by like 2 over Agbeko, but no doubt both fights were fun to watch
 
oh yeah just heard after the latest episode of 24/7 that this saturday night is Dawson vs Johnson II, should be a good one
 
Dawson vs Johnson shoul dbe a war again.... i am sure Dawson is out to prove that the first fight was a fluke being that close.... and Johnson thinks he can win....

sidenote: Dan Rafael talking bout Dawson might get inot the Super six and take Taylor's spot.... he would change the dynamic of the classic.. especially since he would easily be the biggest fighter (size-wise) in the classic.....

so after thinking about it for a few days, i think i want Dawson to lose to Johnson or at least draw.... because then they will more htan likely have to fight one more time... Dawson in the Classic is a pipe dream... he is an HBO guy and ovbiously, the Classic is on Showtime.... and no way they let him walk.....
