--ROH announced a show on 11/6 in Collinsville, IL, just outside of St. Louis. The main event is Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin defending the tag titles against Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly.

Hey, back to my neck of the woods. I might check that out. Then again, with the ROH nerds, maybe not...

I bought MITB today. Great booking of a hot angle. The best crowd at a WWE event in about 10 years, maybe longer. But not even close to a 5-star match.

So here's the formula for what WWE is doing right now: (1) Give you big match with heel (HHH) going over. (2) Heel forms faction and throws everything but the kitchen sink at babyface. (3) Babyface finally gets come-uppance at WrestleMania.

The problem is, this is HHH we're dealing with, so here's how I imagine it really happened and will happen.

This is all speculation. (1) Nash unable to wrestle. HHH casually suggests he take his place, knowing working with Punk good for him. Says he'll put Punk over. (2) Uses Nash's ineptitude to slowly undermine Punk and casually throws out that maybe HHH should go over. Says it'll mean more that way when Punk finally wins.

The quote we heard a time or two, if I'm not mistaken, is "I really want to make this kid."

The faction formation gives you some stuff to work with in the longterm - babyface build is all about the "thrill of the chase," after all.

The goal, ultimately, is to make the up-and-coming baby look inept and never get the win back.

Or, baby'll rise above the BS and the return match will be huge $. That's the carrot he dangles. Rarely happens. He knows that. But HHH already got his win.

The Punk thing peaked at MITB and is now out of steam.

The next reason to get into the WWE will be when they pesumably push Danielson. If he gets a real push, his PPV matches with people like Christian and Punk have the potential to be off the charts. And we all know he has that Flair gift to carry almost anyone to a really good match. If they are serious about pushing him,we could be looking at the next HBK/Angle/Benoit in terms of consistantly delivering great WWE PPV matches. Annd a second career peak in terms of workrate would solidify his HOF slot.

You're telling me. It took them 4 weeks to completely deflate any interest I had in seeing CM Punk.

Couldn't care less about a Punk-HHH match. I have a hard time conceptualizing how we got to this point after that epic Money in the Bank match to where I couldn't care less about what happened to get to this shitty point.

I turned Raw on when I got home from work for the last 10 minutes and it was god awful, not to mention unnecessarily repetitive. Punk asked the crowd to chant his name 3 times, and they responded less each time. They didn't respond at all the last time. Also, this reeks of them bringing back WWF ice cream bars, which makes Punk (the anti-WWE anti-hero) a company schill. Why must the E always ruin guys who start to get over at the top? This is is exactly like Edge when he went over Cena. The only guy they want over at the top is Cena or Orton.
