Jeez Dave, maybe its "tacky" to a 40 something canadian shut in, but to a 20 something texan, its probably what he wants to hear. i worked for a bunch of indies, some bigger, some smaller, but you always want to push your product to make it seem huge. Im pretty sure none of the fans that his piece reached are upset that he tapped WWE a little bit. For an indie its "cool" to talk shit about them. It doesn't make you seem huge, it makes you seem desperate. Sorry. Just my opinion. The indies offer a lot to the industry. They don't need to bash the WWE. The indies and WWE are different animals. Both should play to their strengths.

Just because I didn't work for a wrestling promotion doesn't mean I know nothing about them. IMO, Vince had it right - never acknowledge the opposition. He didn't do it until a super duper star like Flair defected in 1991.

Rafy Khaimov sent along the following: There is some other evidence that Hardy might not be leaving concerning the new WWE Kids magazine poster book. You've reported that a poster of Hardy isn't in the book but the finalization of the book is made a while before it is released. It also has a poster of The Brian Kendrick and he was released on July 31st of this year. This contradicts the other report that was made earlier. Just thought I would share this.

Jesse Wills sent along the following: I work for a Hobby Card shop and I saw the new order form for the newest WWE cards called Topps WWE 2009 and there is no Jeff Hardy card listed on the checklist. It has a scheduled release of October 14th. I would take this as yet another sign that Jeff Hardy is taking time off.

I'd guess these Tweets have to be taken lightly at this point as it seems WWE and The Hardys are doing everything they can to sway the fans into believing both sides of the current Jeff Hardy story. We reported earlier that Matt Hardy posted a Tweet which seemed to indicate that their future was uncertain. However, this could have simply meant in terms of tag team or singles wrestling, and not an implication that Jeff was going to leave WWE or not.

If its true tho, im 95% sure he'll go back to TNA and sign a light schedule contract which would make sense due to TNA filming Impact every 2 weeks.

I blame the new "PG" era of wrestling... Uncle Vince sees tonight as an opportunity to bait-and-switch the hell out of his audience instead of giving them what they want (a clean loss for Cena).

No way Orton goes over 1-2-3 tonight without "interference" because of Cena no-selling practically everybody last Monday... still, Orton as the Champ > SuperCena holding the belt without a heel turn involved.

Looks like Bryan Danielson has agreed a contract with the WWE. ROH is planning a farewell show, apparently.

Like i've said for years, he'd go when he felt the time was right. He could have done this many times over the last few years, they would have taken him, but he liked calling his own shots and was making better money as the #1 indy guy than he would have as a WWE jobber.

If this dosen't tell people that ROH is a sinking ship, I don't know what else it will take. They even had a few checks bounce a few weeks back, which screams of 1998 ECW.

Danielson will get me to watch WWE again, but only until they book him to death.

Hard to believe it was only a few years ago that ROH had Samoa Joe, Danielson, CM Punk, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Alex Shelley, Brian Kendrick, Briscoes, Homicide, Colt Cabana, Nigel McGuinness, Jay Lethal, Claudio Castagnoli, Jack Evans, Delirious, etc etc etc on the roster. Years from now, people will look back having forgotten just how great ROH was at it's peak.

Right now, they resemble the dying days of ECW in many ways.

Cena/Orton was possibly the worst match I've seen...ever. And that says something considering Kane v. Khali was on the same card.

TLC was great and it sucks for WWE that they are losing Hardy, even if just for a short time. Forget Cena and HHH, Hardy is the most popular guy in the company.

I give Dolph credit, because he is working the exact style that the E loves...slow the pace, easy to digest 80's style psychology...this guy uses so many chinlocks, it probably gives Orton a boner.

I think his name is a negative, but that isnt his fault. He can overcome it, but it will make it harder.

His look is a positive, because nobody remembers him as part of the career killing Spirit Squad (which is what killed Ken Doane/Dykstra, IMO).

If I don't like him, it's probably a good thing for his career, because they push all the guys I think are shit. They don't matrket their product for me, someone who if HHH vs. Orton was main eventing across the street for free, i'd stay home and download the latest NOAH show or go to the indy show an hour away.

Actually paid the full PPV amount to watch SummerSlam last night. First time in forever that I've done that and probably won't against for a long long time. The show was actually better than I expected. Which isn't to say it was great, just not at all terrible.

Thought the Mysterio-Ziggler match was solid. Nothing fantastic, but Mysterio made Ziggler looked pretty good, which had to be the point.

MVP-Swagger was too short. Decent enough match but it didn't get enough time.

Jeri-Show against Cryme Tyme was a solid tag team match for the E. Nothing memorable or standout, but it didn't suck. It made CT look credible as opponents, which is the reason they have the belts on two main eventers.

I'm just going to pretend that Khali-Kane never happened. Its easier that way.

I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed D-X against Legacy. And they did make Rhodes and DiBiase look about as good as possible without actually giving them the win.

Christian-Regal annoyed me. I was looking forward to that match and they do that? The least they can do is give them 20 minutes on ECW to work a proper match, but I doubt that will happen.

I'm no real fan of either Orton or Cena, though I don't hate Orton like W2BTD does. Up until the sequence of screwy finishes, I thought it was a pretty solid match. Good enough, at least. They actually made Orton look pretty good instead of weak as hell like they typically do, until all those finishes.

I enjoyed the hell out of the TLC match and the finish with the Undertaker. It was predictable all the way around, but that doesn't make it any less good. I love that it shows a successful PPV can be headlined by someone outside the main guys.

As for Danielson to the E, that has me interested. He apparently has a lot of supporters in the E, so I'm hopeful that they will treat him and push like he should be. Not that he's going to get do 60 minute broadways, but getting a chance to showcase his skills on a regular basis would be nice.

Also, there are some serious rumors - apparently from within ROH themselves - that the E has made or will make offers to another 4-6 ROH workers. So it could be serious devastation for the Ring of Honor roster if that's true.

Ken Doane was killed because they didn't let him put himself over...his only means to be put over with in the ring...or, was it supposed to be the dead animal around his shoulders that got him over...or was it Victoria?

He was good in the OVW. I thought then he had a lot of potential and it wasn't impossible to break from the Spirit Squad and become successful.

Plus, his name was awful...a name can make or break you.

Danielson has to change his style. He has a half dozen finishers that are all over with the ROH crowd, but in the E, you have to dumb it down for the masses and have *one* signature move. But this is a guy who got the small package over as a credible finish, so he's good enough to adjust and come up with a 4 or 5 move repetitive rotation that Vince likes his guys (especially babyfaces) to have, and find one finisher to get over (Cattle Mutilation is unique enough work, but who knows).

Sometimes, it all comes down to having the right people behind you:

-William Regal is a big supporter, and that's good, because Regal and HHH are tight.

-Jim Ross being a big supporter is probably a negative.

-Being "trained" by HBK means nothing, because it did nothing for the careers of Brian Kendrick or Lance Cade (besides, HBK probably couldnt pick Danielson out of a lineup).

-I don't know if CM Punk is tight with Danielson, but it would probably be a negative anyway, because Punk is still an outcast of sorts, and his status as a headliner did nothing for his best friend (Colt Cabana) in terms of push or job security.

He's relatively weak on promos, but was able to get by in ROH because he was so over. But I think he's good enough to pull off the cheesy scripted garbage they give everyone. Jury is out.

But the biggest thing that will work against him is his rep. CM Punk came in with a big rep, and despite being told he didn't know how to work, sent to developmental for a year, and banished to ECW for another year after that, he was able to overcome it. But he's still not very well liked.

The difference between Punk & Danielson, is unfairly or not, Punk comes off cocky and aloof (because he probably is), while nobody ever has a bad thing to say about AmDrag, who by all accounts is humble, contrite, and respectful of everyone he works with. Plus, Punk commited the cardinal sin of fucking Divas before he was considered a star, a major breach of locker room etiquette (you cant make this stuff up). AmDrag dosen't strike me as the kind of guy who will be hitting on Kelly Kelly his first day in.

I think he needs to come in with a gimmick that he's a no frills, no nonsense, great wrestler. Even use the "Best In The World" tag as his catch phrase. That way, he can come out with his lack of tan, lack of muscle tone, short stature, and bad haircut, and instead of looking minor league, he'll come off as different and unique. Let the heels pick on his body, make fun of his unintimidating look, but then have him work them in the ring and "ouwit" them at every turn.

Will that get over? Can a guy who's "just a wrestler" work in that envrionment? I don't know, but he's probably the only guy who can pull it off.
